      @ChikinJake What are you training for when you say volume? That goes into hypertrophy, no? Or is strength related. Cause you lifting heavy but high volume. So I do more progressive overload type training. This is the shit I love to here man I appreciate it. Very smart to start with one day of it a week until you get confident with it. Also if you’ve never tried it, you’re not going to need anything but the bar when you start cause you gotta prioritize technique and mobility before you start strength training to minimize injuries. Keep me updated on the progress. Absolutely man. The shoes make a world of difference. This is also just how everyone’s gotta start. It’ll take a while to get the proper mobility and strength in your joints to hold these lifts since it forces you into such a typically awkward position

    • @kingofgames259
      @kingofgames259 8 дней назад

      @ChikinJake D'you reckon if I wanted to start learning snatches, I should start by improving deadlifts first? My lower back and sides are really my weak points. I did start doing BB shoulder presses and kettlebell presses as well, so pretty confident with the final part of a snatch. (I think that's what it's called)

    • @ChikinJake
      @ChikinJake 8 дней назад

      A lot of oly lifting is trial and error for what works best with you. I always recommend that you prioritize your mobility and technique before trying to do any strength building but when it comes to accessories it’s all about maintaining your fatigue levels. Snatch/clean deadlifts can be great for you but you gotta make sure you do let the ego take over. If you’re doing them to improve your oly lifts then focus more on your form and maybe try out some slow tempo pause work to fully activate your core and low back. You wanna get as much core confidence as possible before you go heavy on the main oly lifts

      Well you’re always learning when it comes to oly lifts. No matter how good I get there will always be something work on and get better at. If you have a coach you can get really good in 6 months to a year but I’m self taught so I didn’t get consistent with good form and mobility until I trained for 2-3 years. The love is reciprocated man! Even though I feel good squatting heavy, I miss more reps and sets. It would mean I'd stay at the gym longer. I'm waiting for June to come so I can take a break from all this strength programming. Aside from the gym, my college spring semester has wrapped up, and I can't wait to travel with my parents to celebrate.

      Yeah it’s always good to have some time between large gaps of training when you give your body the rest it deserves for good recovery as well as relighting some passions. I appreciate that support as always

    Only started catching on to your content recently my dude, but if it's ok to ask.. what happened to your knees? It looks like you got surgery there if I'm not wrong. Love the content as always and the constant motivation oozing from your videos. Cheers from Ireland lad!

      Much appreciated homie. I’ve actually never had any injury with my knees before let alone surgery. Last week when I hit 445lbs x4 on squat I developed a super minor pull or tear in my left knee tendon so I’ve just been working on the recovery. Thankfully I’ve learned from past experiences and stopped lifting heavy the moment I felt it and there’s been no pain, just soreness, and I can workout normally. It’s just gonna be a good couple weeks of deloading and focusing on isometric work to come back at 100%. The support means a metric ton as well

    Split squats, Nordic and reverse Nordics were the best things for my knees personally.

    bro any tips on strenthening my lower back? I always got injured there

    • @ChikinJake
      @ChikinJake 27 дней назад

      RDLs are probably best for bulletproofing your low back and hamstrings strength wise but it’s also good to put some attention in your mobility when I comes to squat depth. I also recommend light weight on good mornings.
