I know, now, that you're looking for screen-free hobbies, but when I lose power I get my e-reader out, because it makes it's own light for reading (and the font can be increased!) You still should get your eyes checked, but I don't think you really need more expensive reading glasses, just the correct strength. My Dollar Tree reading glasses work fine as long as I'm not using the wrong strength. Oh, and the reason I went looking for my comment was to add, my vote is donating the finished craft projects you don't keep to a thrift shop! Also, my secretary would take out the trash for me, just saying (unless she Trained a janitor)

I’m trying to adjust to life after gastric bypass. It hasn’t been easy. And getting out for walks in the cold weather gets less appealing everyday. But I’m enjoying Minecraft and reading and making a new AC island so overall keeping my head above water

I have been thinking lately though that I want to get back into crafting & reading since all I do now in my free time is game which is super fun but I miss making stuff. I can crochet a teeny bit but need to learn more. I did more knitting in the past. My brain drew a blank for Scattergories. STILL drawing a blank. 🤣 Maybe it is just too tired. 🥱🤪

Decluttering has been a big part of my self-care recently. Or like you said- letting go of my fantasy self 😂 Also I put up my little purple-lighted Christmas tree like 3 weeks ago! Scattergories: Teeth Cleaning (at the dentist). Anything involving the dentist is the worst 😅

Other books you could read are the little house on the prairie series. I also will reread Heidi at least once a year. I found an old copy of it at an old book store. It is one of my favorites. Secret garden is another favorite. I think giving your crochet away is such a good idea! I may have to start doing that myself. I found a neck light online. It just wraps around the back of your neck and shines on whatever you are working on. It is rechargeable. If you get one look at the comments because some don’t hold a charge very long but the one I have does pretty good. I want to start doing embroidery again. I haven’t done it in years but I love doing it.

Living in the UK, I supplement D3 all year round. 4000 units a day. The recommended 400 units is nowhere near enough. I don't know if it helps with SAD, the evidence is contradictory (guess it's one of those personal things), but it might be worth a shot. Anyway, I think all your ideas are great URL and ACNH. I love hearing your musings on life from across the pond (except sport but I just tune out for that, no problem 😂). I read a lot, because of my health I read on Kindle sometimes, listen to audio books too but also do read paper books. I spend a LOT of time watching YT content, lots of international slow living (I love seeing how people live), booktube, acnh, I watch videos with gardening content (not instructional, more beauty), fashion history, people renovating cottages or chateaux in France, and YT just keeps suggesting new people! To Christmas, I love it but I don't do much of spend much. I'm just with my cat the entire holiday (well year actually!), don't get prezzies, don't buy prezzies. Just some special foodie treats I don't have any other time (no alcohol sadly - illness/meds), binge watching favourite films, Christmas films (I love US Christmas films, the decorating you guys do is sublime..not so much city, more countrycore), music and reading. I love cookies and cake! Too much! 😂 I live in a cottage on a small working mixed farm (beef herd and arable), so have beautiful scenery. I'm very content with a simple, slow life. ❤

In the pinned questions, you said hobbies without electricity and I thought I couldn't help because all of my hobbies need light (and therefore electricity) LOL that was silly of me! I read a lot (real books with paper pages) because they take me somewhere else that isn't as dreary as here. I also do a lot of crafts. My favorite is to make greeting cards, because then I can mail them to friends, or donate them to charities, and share the love. I know that can be somewhat more difficult if you can't coordinate colors, but it's possible to buy kits or supplies that are pre-coordinated.

Since I finally learned (from you!) that the playback speed I use affects the creator's stats, I adjusted my speed to normal when your video started. But I kept thinking, why does Robin sound so sluggish today, is she ok? When I fixed the playback speed (I accidentally clicked on .75) you sounded fine 🤣 The star items do say the season - this is currently Scorpio season, and Sagittarius is next. I don't know whether the in-game changeover is the same as IRL, though. Oh, I love the up-and-down Nook's-and-Able's - I may have to copy that, too!

I have yet to meet a cookie I don't like. : ) And, I'll be checking the comments for hobby suggestions. I'm retiring very soon and need some inspiration. I just started making sourdough bread and really love it. Something about playing with the dough is very therapeutic, and my husband gets to enjoy the results. Love your videos!!

Your videos mean so much to me right now, thank you. SAD usually gets to me around January, February. I find that it helps to surround myself with things that remind me of seasons that make me happier, but obviously this is an easier said than done sort of thing.

Not sure where your from but it’s Fall/Autumn here. But I 💯 get the seasonal anxiety. I do worse once it gets dark at like 5:15 pm. The worst is like between Xmas time and until like early-mid February. I struggle with bad depression/anxiety and a ton of crappy symptoms I won’t get into.

What if we called them "thriving strategies" instead of coping strategies? Scattergories: Fire? A nice cozy fire in the firepit...maybe a few marshmallows to roast...

I do take walks or runs outside. Looking for stars in the night sky. Going to indoor gardens. My answer is a Fartlek, it is a type of interval run.

This mini series of fall bucket list was fun to watch! You did awesome 🍂🍁🎃. I live in Pennsylvania, and unfortunately, our winters have been getting warmer and warmer. I miss all the snow, and I am excited to see some in the game each year. I do get tired of the snow by the time it's ready to end in game, but it just makes the spring better for me.

Iceland has such dark and long winters (they start in October or November) that most people here are vitamin D deficient. I’m vitamin D deficient and need to take two pills in the mornings for it 😅 I think I struggle with SAD but I’ve never been diagnosed. I definitely have a much harder time mentally during the winter and even spring since it’s not really spring here. I recommend (if it’s related to winter and dull/dark days) to turn on lamps and decorative lights (preferably warm lights) and taking it slow. Hot chocolate or coffee can help too! And try to romanticise these times as if they’re a heartwarming movie! My scattegories answer is journaling and jamming! Put some music on and journal! ❤

1. Yes. As a matter of fact two years ago we had a famous blizzard that shut everything down for like almost two weeks. O-o 2. I don't think I do, but I do miss certain parts of holidays that used to be exciting that aren't anymore due to being an adult. 3. Music. Music helps me a lot. 4. Jogging. I don't run as much as I should but Jogging feels like the right answer here.

Halloween Harmony looks awesome! We get too much winter here - the snow can be beautiful but the skies are too often dreary and the darkness is too prevalent. I've struggled with SAD since I was a teen. I do the things you mentioned - a light that simulates sunlight, and making an effort to get outdoors. I also put more emphasis on exercise (so my scattergories answer could be Jumping Jacks if I didn't have arthritic knees) and make sure I'm taking a vitamin D supplement.

Winter here is in between weather and it gets dark early. No I don’t struggle with SAD. I Just try to take one day at a time. Winter here can go either way. Definitely gets dark early. I haven’t struggled with SAD…always attribute it to being a winter baby. Scattergories: jigsaw puzzles! Especially the little sets you can get around the holidays that have like 25 small puzzles (one a day). Something fun, usually cute and that little feeling of accomplishing something 😊
