I had an issue where my alarm was going off constantly. Vagcom indicated that the alarm was being triggered by the hood switch. There is a bit of misinformation online about this switch. In the b6 the signal is open (infinite resistance) when the hood is closed and closed (connected) when the hood is open. If this switch goes you can replace it or just disconnect it. I'm watching this video in November 2023. My son lives in Toronto. I bought a Sangean WR-16 SE in October 2022 for my wife. The sound and reception is very good. The desktop radio is playing FM music from 6,15 to 10.15 am daily. We live in Chennai, Tamil Nadu India. I ordered it on Amazon USA and shipped it to India. Although the Amazon price was $ 100 after shipping it is close to 240. Ordered another Sangean HDR-18 for my son living in Toronto. Amazon Canada. Was in Toronto for about 40 days enjoyed Kiss FM channel on HD. Planning to buy WR-22 for my bedroom. It is digital, has remote and Bluetooth connectivity. Thanks for your review.

I didn't have to remove too much but I'd imagine a RHD would be totally different! Your equivalent would be the other side.
The new technology is too much for me. If I have to think about how to change from one station to another, that is too much for me. I would rather turn an analog knob.

How does one disconnect it? My alarm has started going off randomly and I’m trying to diagnose it.

Does it have Backup battery in case of 220 volt power failure?
Only has capacitor which will function for short term blackout. However, I added a 9V battery with cheap holder sourced from Amazon to the rear DC input to provide longer term backup.

My 2004 AUdi A4...i had to disconnect the battery cause the alarm kept going off. also my dash lights for everything go black and exterior lights turn off and on. Obviously is an electric problem. but would you have an idea what it could be? i am planning to sell it but knowing what the problem is would be best so i can figure out what i can sell it for. Anyone have an idea what it could be?

I'll pipe up! I bought a Sangean WR11 in 2015 and it's still going! Never loses the FM station if drift was a concern and sounds way better than expected!

i was thinking where the grommet is behind the glovebox, now i dont have to remove the glovebox, just the bottom panel, helped so much and saved me time, thanks a lot!

I have a Tivoli 2 radio .It sounds great but the reception is horrible!
I own that sangean in black non Bluetooth and the Bose. the sangean is much better. Bose sounds too processed compared to the natural-sounding sangean. the wooden cabinet helps.
I bought this radio based on your review, I needed a radio that would work on 12 volts and 120, I am truly impressed with the sound, I also set the base at 0, lots of buttons but so easy to program, bought for small cabin on my boat but am using it in my 35 foot long living room till summer comes, can not believe how nice it sounds in this room, thx good job!
