      Not on my instructions. I could understand doing that if it was steel, but both my rail and the spuhr mount are aluminium.

      @@pyrate_nz i have the cantilever mount 4622C and it says ”apply a light coat of oil to the rail, then loosen the M5 Tx20 clamping screws before seating the mount on the rail while pushing it forward.” Now, I havent seent any mountinf video on youtube applying a light coat of oil on the rails. Might it be a new thing?

    When did you remove the wedge after 14:04? How long do we keep it there; ir do we keep it while tightening it?

      i keep it in till finger tight then remove the wedge, you dont want to clamp down on the wedge, if in doubt, insert and remove as you go to ensure it stays level

    Where many ballistic apps fall down is the developers don't know that many shooters who use meters for range and Mills for aiming still use imperial fps for bullet velocities . A good app should have flexibility of choice directly on each input not some overriding setting that changes things to what you don't want .

    Very nice brake, but why buy this? When you can buy a APA little bastard for 118 bucks right now. which is an absolute recoil eater for it's size, price, and tuneability.

      That’s a nice touch. I’ve been looking at the walnut versions that have recently become available. All wood and metal is a huge bonus for me especially at the lower price point. Even on many of the higher end autoloaders (benelli, beretta, browning, etc) trigger guards are all plastic.

    Unfortunately the pin attaching the lever to the receiver was seized, couldn't get it out, so had to send it to the gunsmith. Appreciate the video anyway mate, it's super helpful

    Thanks for another great video. Glad to hear you're at least still allowed suppressors on your side of the ditch. Are you having as much fun sourcing components over there as we are here on West Island and are ADI propellants available there?

      thanks. primers are the battle here at the moment. thankfully i still have enough. the other components have stabilised a bit, but the price had gone way up.

      @@pyrate_nz Yeah primers and price are the main problem over here as well. I also lean towards heavy pills and fast twists although I don't own a chronograph or have much to do with computers as I objected to being told in my younger days that my wheelchair meant my future was computers and office jobs. Now everything I wanted to do in life is computerized LoL. I'm currently working on loads for when I can get back to the range try my new.223 with a 1:8 twist for targets and game. Keep up the good work.

      Just trim as normal. Your trim length is base on the case overall length

    How does this work.. if water isn’t a lubricant and therefore extra moisture is being added to the barrel.. the only way I see this working is for the clearing of gasses in the barrel 🤷‍♂️

      nothing to do with lubricating or removing the gas. black powder fouling builds up quick and the moisture keeps it soft. bullets are already lubed. have a look at the full video. cheers

    I have a question I forgot to pull back the bolt before I took the forend off and now I reassembled it but now I can’t pull back the bolt with the handle . What am I doing wrong ?

      can you remove the barrel or is that locked up too

      also does the bolt move a little bit then stop, the bolt catch (release) may be stuck

      Can remove the barrel, the bolt is stuck all away forward , the catch release isn’t press able probably since it’s stuck all away forward . But it’s not loose at all

      the catch should still opeate even though the bolt is foward. last this to do is remove the trigger group. beyond that you going to need to take it to a gunsmith

      the supressor helps with a blowback action. i had a ruger that cycled subs from factory and one that didnt, but for me its making sure it does it even when shes a bit dirty

      a lot of their products are, however the LevTac is made by CBC (aka Rossi) in brazil and they are stamped as such

    DISCLAIMER: New reloader here. Can’t you technically put on the headspace gauge, put in a once fired case, zero your calipers and then keep threading in your sizing die until you get -0.002? Would that produce the same results?

      For the tikka, it comes pre installed in the chassis. Some other actions you will need to use the factory recoil lug

    How many shots you can get out of the factory semi-heavy barrel without overheat and have a POI change?

      That will depend a bit on ammo and if you have a suppressor or not. For my hand loads and suppressor around 20 rounds. Going to depend on how quickly you shoot them too. Mine does not shift enough to even worry about.

      @@pyrate_nz that is amazing. I have a CZ600 Alpha 308 with semi heavy barrel and shooting Match ammo with muzzle brake, it heats up and create larger groups after 5 rounds

      thats interesting. so did a quick google your barrel tapers down to 18mm. the tikka tapers to 20mm at the muzzel. so no substantial diffrence. i shoot 5 shot groups regularly as part of my training. i looked at the groups from last time. diffrence between 1st and 4th group (total 20rds) poi shifted 0.12MOA and group incresed about that same. after that i take a break, change targets etc. some barrels are better than others. my 308 tikka CTR (same barrel contour) behaves almost the same

      @@pyrate_nz Thanks for spending time to dig into this matter. Recently I can push the Match ammo accuracy to 0.75 moa and hand load to 0.6 moa, and the last time I fired 20 rounds of 2 rounds per min was a year ago. Maybe my fundamentals were not as good at the time, I will go to the gun range this weekend and reconfirm my claim.

      Just an update. Recently I was able to push it to 0.47 moa with factory ammo. Did 3 rounds per min firing rate, and the group start open up and shifting vertically after 12-15 rounds. Some of it could be shooter error too.

    Kool review Its a shame the x ray and the bravo don't come with toolless length of pull from the gate. I hate the thought of buying a 450 dollar chassis then spending 300 more on one feature. Then 250 more for a spigot at that point im 1100 in it and I should just buy an ess Still like the product

      that is a fair point. i guess when your trying to meet a price point, thats how to do it. Im now at the point in my shooting where i prefer spacers for LOP. set and forget and usally save a bit if weight too

    Great and very helpful video! I've been told not to put oil in actions, fluids increasing pressures... would Moly grease work well on the action and recoil spring, or any problems in doing that? Cheers

      only if you put a fluid in the chamber. the problem with thick lubricants like grese will collect fouling and jam things up.

      I mean, I totally understand the quick detach stuff, but I just don’t understand the Ultra mount that brings it way high off the table

      you could, but I wanted the press higher closer to eye level. i want the rest of the bench at normal height as its easy to pour powder etc
