I received the same antenna today. I don't notice a sound difference with FM, but I mostly use XM radio which is a different antenna. I will say this antenna is needed because the polished chrome factory antenna just doesn't go with the style, or the look. Here's the possible difference in reception. This antenna comes with the installation piece that has a lot of paint on it to try to get as much of the paint off as possible. Use paint thinner on just the screw-in part to take the paint off so you have a good connection when screwing this together!

Hows the gas mileage?

Took doors off first time. Lesson learned, make sure the the latch is fully extended from the door to make putting them back on much easier.

Did you end up getting another set for the wheel wells? Can you add another set of 8 to the same controller?

Great concept however….would it not be easier to roll the engine stand right to where your taking the doors off? I would also look to replace the plastic wheels on the engine stand with polyurethane wheels, might roll smoother.

I have one and love it as well. On the safety concern I put an eye bolt on the four corners where the hang ropes are and once I get the top up I put 2 ratchet strap’s across the bottom and tighten them up. I was more concerned with rope slipping and the top coming down then with the eye coming out of the wall like you concern.

I live in a very rural area. I had the same antenna. I re-installed factory antenna because I wasn't getting anything close to the same reception with the new antenna. It's a tradeoff; if you want radio stations, keep the original antenna. If you want to go off-road a lot where the factory metal antenna is going to be slapped around and possibly break because of the tree limbs and brush that's on off-road trails, then get a little antenna like this one.
