F4 is fine given the incredible ISO range on modern mirrorless digital cameras.

Very useful. People hate it for no stops and no compatibility with the original lens caps. The cap can be bought and you are not really supposed to work in the X artifect zone (>400ND) anyway so if you see that on screen you know you need to stop and wind back.

Bad rolling shutter

When you're NOT in face tracking and say you're in spot focus mode, can you assign a button to start eye/face tracking? I can't find the option in the custom button (video) menu. I want to be on spot on a person, and hit af-on button to start tracking face/eye. Looks like it's not possible. Thanks.

"computational photography" Speaking of which Google has removed the manual configuration of exposure metering from the 6a. They say that it isn't necessary to get great shots, CP will do it automatically.

Hey Matt, thanks for the informative video. I am struggling with trying to shoot a video on Manual Focus Mode and wanting to use the AF-ON button to quick switch to AF , it simply doesn`t work. Nor vice versa. Any ideas why?

No sure who has decided views on that lens. I have been using the 17-40 since the mid 2000s and as a pro photographer I'd honestly say having using pretty much every l lens this is one of the best and sharpest l lenses of the range. Anyone who slates it don't know what there talking about....

500 dollar camera can beat it if we pair with a decent lens..because of its hdr most people like phone photos..but in real times theres no comparison...the modern day phone brands are slowly increasing the sensor size also apart from ai😂

To a normal eye, they both look almost same. Hence its a must buy for Pixel.

Great comparison! The Pixel phones tend to show more light and less shadow and sometimes I prefer that but i have a Pixel 6 and it does better with the 50 megapixel sensor. I have a Sony A6000 so I'll compare my phone sometime.

I have it and happy with all you mentioned. Apart from aperture, and size (mounted on a m5), it's works excellent. It is not as sharp as 50mm but great optic. I would like to compare it with the pancake 24mm in terms of image quality.

honestly this is a really nice video but the reasons you mentioned the canon to be better like better shadow control better colour control, those are available on the pixel 6a too if you use the colour and shadow controls on the camera before taking them. You might argue that you either dont want to do that or that it's too extra but for a similar shot paying 4700 more just to have that seems like a steal. Anyways that's just my opinion, also yeah the portrait mode on the pixel isnt as great, glad to see it improved on the 7 series though!
