After my first trip to Japan last year, I knew I would be back at some point to attempt to summit Mount Fuji. “Some point” fortunately was able to happen this year, when I realized somewhat last minute we would be able to fit in traveling to Japan while it was still climbing season, and Mount Fuji was still snowless. We decided to hike the Yoshida Trail, starting at the Subaru 5th Station, as it was the easiest to access without a car. We also chose to do our summit attempt as a day hike, as opposed to staying overnight in a hut.
