Nothing!
@sf49erswarriorsgiantsgumba99 are you saying you have no voltage readings.....if this is so you need to check more upwards at the pcm and see if you have pcm that's an issue. Could be power feed issue. You can get Oe level diagrams and repair information for 1 vechicle at alldata diy .com for 25.00 will have all the pinouts for pcm and wiring to fuse box and sensors.
So taking the ac compressor out should you remove the hose and see ac coolant coming out? Or how do I prevent that I’m stuck here lol
No you don't remove the hose just allow it to relax . Removing the hose requires you to evacuate and recover the refrigerant first. If you have removed the hose you are going to need to have that procedure done to insure the system is properly filled and there are no leaks from damaged oring.
Thanks for the help, it was easier than I thought
It took me several hours and I thought that I fixed it. But a test drive showed the traction control light and no power steering. Any suggestions?
@thomasfitzkee9973 check your electrical connections you left something unplugged more than likely
@@YouCanFixIt You called it. I found a broken wire.
My car been cutting off soon as I start it, then I have to pop the hood, wiggle the battery, that’s all, then it starts 🤔 any ideas? Today it happened while I was driving, stopped at a red light too long
@zodot5875 I would have your battery terminals checked and or replaced would be a good idea 💡 to have both your alternator and battery checked to insure that they are both healthy. Battery terminals need to be tight at the battery or they can cause poor performance from starter and alternator causing failure prematurely.
Bra got his little fan lmao
Sweet...then you know it's better than no fan
Thank you for the video, exactly what I needed to see for the flood on the passenger floorboard
My boss/friend needed help replacing the rubber coupler, i was there at the final process. He accidentally took the steering wheel off in the middle. We got everything back together and the wheel is slightly to the left. How can we align it center without taking out the back bolt towards the firewall?
@Ridestereo765 there are only 2 ways the intermediate shaft can be installed. I would recommend an alignment and recalibration of the steering angle sensor. I remove and replace the entire column on a regular basis and have not had the steering off center just from removal. More than likely the off center was already there and now that everything is tight it is showing more prominently. If it where off that bad from repair you would have both airbag lights and steering angle lights on.
Amazing video and straifht to the point!!
@thex45l35 thank you hope it helped
Is it possible to leave the ac compressor l8ne hooked up and just move it out of the way or no
I have never tried...I do believe it will not leave enough room as it is a tight squeeze even with it gone.
@YouCanFixIt thanks man.
❤❤❤❤❤
I had to do this with our 2016 Nissan Versa. Thanks for the step by step instructions, the inner drain was indeed full of dirt and such. Now I have to also get the door drains unclogged. I'm puzzled as to why Nissan hasn't addressed this as I've seen Reddit complaints all the way up to at least 2021 Nissan vehicles having this continuing issue.
@burkesongs if it has a sunroof be sure and clean those as well.
Bay far one of the most cleanest tutorials that I've ever seen and even a tools needed list? Amazing... Incredible layout and essential notes given. Bravo!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just love having jump cut videos when trying to figure something out. Thanks
Dude he showed how to start every step. Nobody would watch it if it was 3 hours long.
Is that coolant you pit in there
@andreacorpos4512 yes a good mix of 50/50
what is the size wrench you use to loosen the pullie?
I wanna say the tensioner is 14mm it's been a hot minute since I've done one. We don't service many of them. If your referring to the alternator pully itself I don't change it comes with new alternator. A basic set with a 45 degree head 10-19 will cover 90% of what you need I prefer a longer box end wrench when I can more leverage less fighting.
16mm
Just fixed this on passenger side easy by opening hood and grabbing out the rubber drain trap and cleaning it out. Squeeze it and it comes right out. It goes back in easy. No other disassembly required.
Whatever works for you some may have more debris than others especially if you park near trees
What’s your parts list? I see the new compressor, serpentine belt and compressor oil, but I can’t tell what the other two boxes are.
Expansion valve and desicant filter
@@YouCanFixIt awesome! Thank you!
@justgonnaskedaddle6715 hope the repair goes smoothly just be sure and pull a vacume to 30in for about 30 min to ensure system is dry.
Thank you; excellent video! I finally understand where all of the water is coming from, not a plugged a/c drip line as I first thought.
Glad it helped, thank you for the comment
I love how these videos make it look so easy. I don’t have very big hands, and I can barely fit mine in there. Then, when I did get ahold of the bulb, it was almost impossible to turn.
yea feel ya I am 4'9 and not that big but have been doing this for a bit. A good set of long needle nose willl make it a little easier to turn
Great video! Isit safe to drive the car with it being like that?
You can drive like that but the cluck you hear are 2 pieces of metal against each other. Eventually wear and failure is going to happen.
@@YouCanFixIt Thank you !! I would have done it my self but have little time have no choice to bring it to mechanic
@@Utoobyourself hopefully there not to backed up
Don't skip the step where you shine a light in to see the water before disassembling, like I did. Bone dry here, but I get a deluge on the passenger side every left turn.
Important step....your noise is more than likely a stopped up ac drain also a common problem use a coat hanger to clear and be sure to secure vechicle from falling
Excellent tutorial video! I have the same issue going on... now to show this to my mechanic so they can fix it for me. :D
You can do in about 1/2 hour not bad job
What’s the name of the tool used to remove the clips? Thanks!
Panel clip tool you can get a good set at harbor freight
@@YouCanFixIt Thank you!!
I hope I can get an answer. -- I have a Kia soul 2012 2.0L automatic. The compressor has been leaking a drop for some time. I tried to stop it with RTV silicone but not luck. The car has 74K miles, A/C is cooling fine, and compressor is working. Do you think I will need to replace expansion valve and Drier with 74K miles and the system working just fine? -- I already bought a brand-new compressor (OEM), and planning for next year to change it. summer is coming and I live in the desert with 110 degrees. I keep my car in good shape. I'm not a stupid kid keeping the car full of garbage, and never take care of their car, so now you know how my car will be. -- I will appreciate any reply. Thank you for this video and your answers.
You must replace the dryer and flush the system to keep your compressor warranty in tact. It is strongly recommended to replace the condenser when replacing the compressor.
Useful information, but why the terrible music? Yes, I can turn down the sound. I did.
I accept tips so I can purchase better haha
Regulator?
Fuel pump check valve regulator maintains stable fuel pressure on accelerating. Newer ones also use pulse with module to control the speed of the pump.
Thanks for this video guide! I need to do this over this weekend and this guide is going to help a ton!
Hope it works out very common issue
Great video! Where did you buy the AC compressor?
Purchase kit thru napa comes with compressor dryer and expansion valve as well as the correct oil
Nice video! Camera angles were a bit challenging but understandable due to the location. Thank you for your time and dedication to teaching DIY!!!!
Thank you for the comment and hope the repair saved you some 💵
Would I have to evacuate the Freon out of the system in order to remove the evaporator coil to do this job?
Yes always and will have to pull a good vacume for at least 30 min after repair to boil off any moisture in system.
Got a quote for $1000 from the neighbourhood mechanic. He advised to change ENTIRE steering column! I watched this video, and fixed it last weekend in 2 hours with a help of couple of friends. Can’t thank you enough
Glad all worked out...1000.00 wow even the dealership is only about 400.00
1000 CAD so close to 750 USD. Still, crazy!
My Mechanic told me I'd have to replace the whole Steering Rack!!!!.. i swore never to use mechanics anymore, unless it is a fix that involves a special tool that i can not lay my hands on
Only thing in this rack that should wear is inner and outer tie rods.
@@YouCanFixIt oh my! Didn't know this.. trying to replace the outer tie rods... but it's really stuck and i don't have the propane gas to heat it up.. so i put some WD40 for it to lubricate it overnight.. will try again this weekend... thanks man
Hello and thank you for making this video! I was wondering what year is the vehicle in the video? I need to replace this part in my 2018 Hyundai Elantra SEL and wanted to see if the procedure was the same. Thank you!
They are all pretty much the same. Just be sure and have it properly charged with a machine as the vacume process is very important to insuring the system is dry and the refrigerant and oil can work properly to ensure long compressor life.
Thank you for sharing this video!
Thank you gor watching and the comment
Small tip for anyone: if you’re having trouble fitting into position while replacing this part, simply remove the driver seat! Only 4 bolts and 2 connectors hold it in place, removing the headrest makes it easy to remove from the car. Now you have 3 times the working space
Good tip there
what type of alternator did you use
Whatever brand the shop used. We source from everywhere dealers worldpack napa. Has been a long time ago to remember
Thanks for the video, very easy to follow along. Fixed my wifes car in about 2 hours using this video!
Glad all worked out thank you for the comment
Great video! I need to do that to mine this weekend.
Hope all works out leave a comment and let us know how it turns out..

Thanks a million for this just did mine today, man that was annoying lol but got er done thanks again you rock
Glad all worked out no more clunky
A few months ago I had the starter in my 2014 accord replaced trying to fix this issue, however, I do not think the torque converter was realigned. No surprise, the grinding noise is back. Is there any way to know for sure if the realignment was made, even if there are no markings indicating so?
If they preformed the procedure properly there should be the mark of the starting point of torque when they torque the bolts otherwise no way to know. The theory behind it is that you are changing the location it stops every time. It is worth the shot but be sure and replace the starter as well it relies on a new metal to metal contact and if the procedure has already been done then the torque converter is recommended to be replaced as the ring gear is attached
@@YouCanFixItGot it, thanks! Would I be able to just remove the current starter, realign the torque converter, then reinstall the starter? Just seems like a waste since the starter is relatively new.
@Oli-zc1sf I would replace with a new starter the old starter has worn into a groove pattern. Installing a new one ensures that they wear together. The difference in the measurement is less than 2 thousands and cannot be seen with the eye
In case anybody is wondering: My local Hyundai dealer charges $521 for this replacement. The part alone is only $2.77
That would be not far off what my shop gets for the repair.
@@YouCanFixIt I just changed mine myself. I'm not a mechanic, it took me about 2 hours. Even if a pro took as long as I did, that would be charging about $250 an hour. I don't get why that's so expensive, for a repair requiring minimal skill and no specialized equipment and one cheap part.
You have to remember a repair shop has overhead insurance employees that cost a lot hence why I make videos but also not everyone has the time or mabey confidence to tackle this or any other job for that matter. I make the videos for those that might wish to try . As far as shops there, ultimately there to make a profit just as any business should be.
@@YouCanFixIt Yeah I understand that part, but charging $500 an hour to change a part when typical shop charges are around $125 an hour seems a little excessive to me.
The book time is just under 4 hrs so they would ablut on target we charge 3 runs about 400 bucks
Thank you very much super useful
Glad it was helpful!
👍
I can’t find those screws that are behind the steering wheel. Are they #2 screw w 7mm head bc I can’t find those
Should just be #2 Phillips you may have a different model
What's the scanner name and model?
I use several from autel to snap on. Any brand that can talk to the airbag module should work to give information and clear codes. most run in the range of 500 for a good brand.
Thanks for this. It looks like I'm going to have to be doing this real soon as ours is on it's last leg. Not wanting to shell out 100s of dollars to replace one. I'm not mechanically inclined really; however, by watching this, I have somewhat of an idea on what I have to do.
Positive attitude positive outcome...
Did anyone else think it was a bad steering rack at first
So your recommendation is to replace the condensor or just the bag inside the condensor?
Always the condenser....the bag in a pinch flushing does not always remove all the crap from a failure.
