I dont mind homestuck fans, most ive met are pretty chill. However a few years ago at a comic con i met this dude dressed as some guy from it, idk the name but its the character thats like really similar to tommyinnit's minecraft skin and also has a disk gimmick(this was around the time the dsmp ended so basically all tommy cosplayers dressed very similar to that). I thought he was a dsmp cosplayer because i had never seen the homestuck character before that point, so i had asked to take a photo with him. I didnt say that i thought he was Tommy, and kinda js left to wander the con after that. Later on i met up with my best friend, another homestuck cosplayer, and that same guy plus a few other homestuck people were hanging out with my friend. We all walked around for a bit, and then that guy was went up to by a c!quackity cosplayer and asked to take a photo with him, unfortunately, c!quackity dude had said "hey man i love your tommyinnit cosplay" before asking for thr photo, and this dude got insanely verbally violent towards him! Full on yelling in the middle of the dealer's den over being mistakened for a minecraft youtuber! My friend dragged me away from all of them after that, luckily i wasnt very close by when it happened, and was looking at stickers around the corner from everyone because i was a little uncomfy around the mean dude. Outside of that experience, most homestuck fans ive met have been pretty chill, and while i havent read it yet, my friend's infodumping to me has led to me getting other people into it on their behalf lol
