Steve Webb is so much better but I don’t see him on utube anymore
Excelent!!!!! See you in Dortmund in October!!!!
I saw Randy over a dozen times. Best were Santa Monica Civic, Golden Bear a couple times, Greek with Buddy and the Palace with Buddy. I also saw his showcase at the Roxy. Where he got the contract for his LP. He only played 5 Hendrix songs.. Back when he wore the wig. He ended with a great wah solo on All Along The Watchtower. Pulled off the wig and said . I love those songs.. but I have my own to play. All the tables had record company tags on them and they only sold just over 50 seat to the public. Epic.. I also saw the Big Rip Off at Long Beach arena. Rainbow was the headliner. Fucking prima Blackmore and Rainbow came on first!! Then turn the lights on and cut his mic during the 4th song. Like 10 mins in to Randy's set. I came home and threw all my Deep Purple LPs in the trash. I will never listen to or own any thing by Blackmore in my life. Rock on Randy!!! Wish there was some early vids of him from 78 t0 82.
This is the ONLY band you should play with ! I'm sorry to say this but your US band kinda s***.
The only one that does a great Hendrix show
Hmmm, at the end where the credits are scrolling, Glen Huttenlocker is credited, he was the owner of "Musiclord" cabinets.
So good 🎼🎸👌
Without Hendrix there would be no Randy ,Robin Trower , Frank Marino even SRV up to a point ,Seen a few of the tribute acts ,Are you Experienced UK ,Sandraiser Ernie Isley was very good also ,Uli Jon Roth have seen them all Randy Hansen is the best Hendrix tribute act in my opinion by far ,saw him in San Francisco 1982 .
Thank you Randy!
Brazil keeps on waiting for you!
Randy, you are doing an awesome job of keeping Jimi Hendrix's alive.
Let's remember that Jimi Hendrix was unknown in America and became famous in London back in the day.
You are more appreciated in other countries than The United States When you become a star.
He who knows it feels it.
Randy grande Goodman.
Guy is amazing, anyone know the brand of the non marshall heads later in the video?
Nice video! Hope to see you live this spring.
I REMEMBER I WAS WITH RANDY IN RENTON WASHINGTON AT A BAR CALLED JOCKOES. HE ASKED ME TO COME TALK TO HIM. WHEN I DID HE SAID HE WANTED TO INTRODUCE ME TO SOMEONE. I SAID OK AND WE WALKED OVER TO THE BAR AND HE SAID TOMMY THIS IS AL HENDRIX JIMMY HENDRIX FATHER , I THEN SHOOK HIS HAND AND SAT DOWN AND HAD A BEER WITH HIM. WOW THANKS RANDY. WHAT A SURPRISE . 1984
I guess I just saw Helge Schneider...saw your band a long time ago in a small club in Oberhausen, t'was great...love on you, Randy...
Thanks Randy, you sound great!!!!
Best Hendrix tribute. His guitar tone is spot on. Randy and band also do a lot of Hendrix tunes Jimi never did live. Ufo and Manni are awesome as well. To me, his german band sounds better than the U.S. band. I don't get the american music scene.Randy and band should be big over here, not only for the Hendrix tunes, but his originals and other covers. Randy is every bit as good or better than other guitar players in that genre "Psychedelic Stratocaster" Robin Trower, Frank Marino, Ernie Isley, Stevie Ray etc. I like them all.
Another adorable player in that vein would bei Funkadelic's Eddie Hazel.
I’d love to see Randy live…spirit of Jimi and tasty band
This man can not be beaten on guitar
You know......... I was 18 yrs old. Got into Jimi when I was 15. Randy sound track on Appocolypse Now. Thaught it was Jimi. Nope. Randy. You know there's Marino and Trower. Keep the flag flying Jimi is God
Randy é inspiração! Sou fã Há muito tempo. Abraços do Brasil!
I've seen Randy lots of times at various venues in Germany and it has always been a hell of an experience. He played in the Schalke football stadium in Gelsenkirchen but also played in my local bar, and he blew the crowd away in both. I had to laugh at the fact that Helge Schneider is in the video. The man is an extremely weird comedian and a great musician and I found myself standing next to him in the crowd at a Randy concert.
It would be a great honor to meet Randy Hansen. He gets Hendrix the way I have since i was a child. He doesn't just play the notes, he channels Jimi's energy. The way he talks about the lyrics and the message is powerful to me personally. Jimi shaped my entire life as obviously it has Mr. Hansen's as well. I was born in Seattle and spent time in the Army in Germany and can relate to his Experience so much. I have spent years playing Hendrix on my guitar but Randy is more channelling Jimi than "playing" him. Jimi was a prophet who just so happened to be the greatest rock guitarist of all time. Salute to Randy for keeping the flame burning.
Underrated legend
I saw Hendrix live 3 times and met him and Buddy Miles back in 1968. Randy Hansen has my official seal of approval! I think Jimi is smiling!
Ze Germans (and Europeans in general) have kept a lot of badass American groups going when the got no love at home. Randy, Joe Bonamassa, All Them Witches, even Jimi himself had to go across the pond to be heard.
European crowds really embrace the art of music almost to the point where they can be quite aggressive in terms of their fandom...American audiences treat their artists like the latest fashion of swimwear...in this summer gone by winter
This is not a HENDRIX tribute...this is JIMI: RESURRECTED!!!...caught on to you about a week ago by sheer happenstance and I am soooooooo glad I did...maybe someday I'll get a chance to see you play live here in NEW ORLEANS. Thanx for keeping JIMI here with us...he definitely speaks through you, sir SALUTE
This guy is as good as any Guitarist ever including Hendrix ,Page ,Van Halen, Beck , Clapton so Underrated
He is not at that level. A guy like Frank Marino blows Randy away.
@@joebot9309 ...it’s not that simple...have you heard..Randy..doing..The Aswer..Of Secong Hand Smokey...the Frank...tribute.....so ezy and natural for Randy to Sing and Play..I have all..Frank’ stuff....I much prefer..Randy’s cover’s Of ..JIMI...than ..Franks...or Uli Jon Roth’s for example.No one does ..JIMI.. better than ..Randy..for me.On a sheer..tech..level..Frank..has all that..jazz..stuff he does....and...Uli...has the whole neo-classical thing...that ?..Frank..doesn’t do...and ..Uli doesnt do..Jazz...But has the tech chops and ..vision..that neither..Randy or Frank has.........SO ??? it’s apples and oranges and strawberry fields forever.Bright Moments 🐝🌈💫 (hope HU can dig the spelling...dragonfly)
Agreed. As a rock guitarist, Randy Hansen is among the very best that ever lived. I'm personally a huge fan of Randy's guitar playing! But, "good as any guitarist ever," is a far-reaching statement. For example, Randy himself might argue that he's not in Pat Martino's, Django's or Wes Montgomery's league when it comes to jazz guitar.
Hes definitely amazing
@@joebot9309 LOL - tthat was a funny troll attempt.
Strange how he has convinced himself he's the one producing this music and vibe,,,,creppy .
Randy is so incredible of a guitar player. He has Jimi going through his soul but Randy also has way more than just Jimi. Randy is a musician and has outstanding feel and ability on his instrument 🎸🎸
Randy does not have more than just Jimi. He's trying to be Jimi. Has Randy written a hit song?
@@johnwattdotca He plays Jimi out of respect for him and yeah, he does have his own music. Have you written a song?
@@danielhoward4566 He's not playing Jimi out of respect. He's playing Jimi because that's what he gets off on playing the most. There's a big difference between writing a song, writing a hit song, and coming up with innovative musicianship as part of those hit songs. The original comment said Randy has way more than just Jimi. That's what made me reply.
@@johnwattdotca Your first comment asked if Randy has written a hit song. No, he has not written a hit song. He does have his own music though which he did perform before quite a lot of people. You are correct that he "gets off" on playing Jimi. And his fans do also. They would rather have him play Jimi's music than his own. That is the real reason he plays Jimi's music otherwise I am sure he would still be playing his own music in front of big crowds like he did long ago. The original comment you speak of was only pointing out the fact that Randy can play more than just Jimi. And I would not downgrade a musician just because he doesn't have a "hit song" either. There are plenty of people with "hit songs" that can't play a single note of music. Today's music proves that. And I ask you again, have you written a "hit song" yourself? If not, then do you also downgrade yourself? And yes, Randy does respect Jimi. And Jimi's family respects Randy for playing his music so the whole world can still hear Jimi's music live. Jimi died an early and untimely death as we all know. So why should his music die also?
@@danielhoward4566 I appreciate your appreciation. I just didn't like the original comment who said he has more than Jimi. If I said Randy has more than Jimi it's because I saw he used to do somersaults and back-flips onstage. Jimi moved around but he wasn't an athlete. I do down-grade myself, on purpose. I don't smoke tobacco, do drugs, not even tea or coffee, and never had sex with a stranger. Before AIDS, that kept me on the fringes. I worked through agencies and managers, being a salary guitarist for show-bands, filling in for injured or gone guitarists. I resisted recording, turning down free sessions and recording equipment. I liked traveling all over. I saw The Jimi Hendrix Experience at Maple Leaf Gardens, never hearing a description of this sound system anywhere. I dropped out of high school to get a steel factory job, buying a 1964 sunburst Strat, a 50 watt Marshall stack, all they would send me, with all the effects, playing Jimi style before he passed away. Jimis' music died when he died, his spirit is gone. I don't like how recordings have taken over from stage bands and I'm against royalties for dead musicians' music, just like how friends with deceased wives or husbands sit and watch an old video that makes them cry. As Jimi said, we all live in the land of the new rising sun, so let's make today a new one.
Luvt' it!
Dude sound like Tom petty and sing like Jimi
Randy, what kind of univibe are you using now?
I use dunlop rotovibe ;)
Excellent musician!👍👍🎸😎
I would love to see both bands man this is so great to see.....!
MR FILO !!!!! YALL EMAIL ME MAN freyron18@gmail hollar at Tex will ya
MAKING MY DAY TODAY HOW YA DOING RANDY !
Better cherish this band while you can, there will not be another of this caliber...r0ck 0n!
I sure wish Randy would play Summer Fest in Wisconsin. I think he would be very much appreciated. And we'd have plenty of beer for him.
I caught his act while he toured with Kid Chrysler and the Cruisers in Whitehorse Y.T. 1976ish . The local tv network taped them . Probable have it in their archives. He was hot then, he's hot today!
Whoa, that's goin back always. I saw him with Kid Chrysler in 1980 here in Seattle. Also.....saw him Friday night...at his house. Great...GREAT SHOW.
Give lotsa credit to Ufo Walter...a real bassist...covers the bottom tonal spectrum and drives the music like a steam locomotive. All thanks to the band and road crew, with hard work, talent and heart they're doing Jimi's memory and message proud.
SIMPLY LOVE HIM
love it
Hope and wish to see Randy in Memphis or Nashville
Is Randy still using his KR Megavibe?
