Those inserts you can't buy, LMC has em in 1 of the repair kits. But do not buy their clam shells. Their "bolts" are pot metal n tear right in two. Big ass ablations (air bubbles) in the castings.

Good video is there a specific part number for this kit or do I have to order individual?

Really nice for a garage paint job. My only critique is that the hood stencil didn't bring the hood contrast far enough forward. It should come well past where the longitudinal creases from the hood bulge tapers down. Also there should be a slight apex at the center front of the contrast area vs. straight across- it should coincide with the taper in the front edge of the hood which has a very slight point in the center. When I paint these, I lay out the contrast area with layout tape, and eyeball it- because the stencils are close, but not correct. I see so many of the 71-73 Mustangs on sites like Ebay that cause me physical and mental pain at how they are painted.. the painters just don't take the time to do the homework.. BTW, you probably know this, but the hood contrast, and the rear spoiler are not supposed to be glossy. The original paint finish for those items was called 'textured', which was somewhat like a satin finish. Also, thank you for mounting the rear spoiler correctly. I see so many mounted backward. This type of spoiler is basically like an inverted airplane wing. Airplane wings have a camber, and only work in one direction to make lift. Airplanes can't fly backward.

This is very helpful. Maybe you can tell me what is going on inside my four speed 833. I did rebuild it so it has been apart. Not my first time doing it. During my initial test using the shifter I can't get into reverse. The shifter does move the arm when I push the shifter arm over and try to shift. The lever swings but hits solid like it won't slide into the reverse gear you pointed out on the outside of second gear. Like the reverse gear on the outside of second gear won't slide/rotate over. It hits right away after 10 degrees or so and won't budge in. You think the second gear is still in synchro and didn't move back into place when I shifted into third and fourth? Any suggestions? Maybe the detent ball fell out and the second gear won't slide back when I shift into third or fourth? Thank you. It was helpful looking into the trans without taking the side cover off....

I am embarrassed to admit how many I watched, I lost count and just went for it. I did it the same way and it definitely is no fun with that seal. I also waited on my K20 restoration. Last two pieces to do, finished one today, drivers side tomorrow. My suggestion to anybody reading this comment, BE PATIENT........😁

You should have water diverted that bolts over your hood hinges. That so called cardboard is not original

Watched prolly 3 or 4.

Just replaced mine. It was easier to cut the bolt and not the coil over. You’ll need to press the rubber and sleeve out and then the shell. If you ever need to adjust camber, the lower control arm ones are probably seized too. Be prepared!

I had an 82 swb d150 in highschool and one too many clutch dumps(stupid kid) and i twisted the imput shaft clean off my 883 AND broke the bell housing bolts....AND destroyed my gas tank lol....AND AND, slung the trans totally out of the truck 😂. Its never a good feeling when your shifter hits you in the leg and proceedes to disappear from the floor. I was 14 and wasnt supposed to be driving it while my parents weren't home 👌. Man if i could go back and keep that truck....

I tried replacing my struts this weekend and couldn't get the bolt out of the bushing. After watching this, I may just replace the whole lower control arm...

The input shaft bearing is not worn out unless you heard it making noise when you let the clutch out in neutral. There is supposed to be to be some slop in that bearing. The pilot bushing/bearing supports the other end of the input shaft.
