There are typically no issues with spousal joint ownership with right of survivorship and not as tenants in common on any financial account. It is seldom a good idea to place a potential beneficiary (such as a daughter in the example in this video) on an account as a joint owner. If necessary, the account owner can create a general power of attorney for that daughter to allow her to make transactions on the account if the parent becomes incapacitated for some reason. The daughter can also be designated as a beneficiary on the account regardless of whether she also has power of attorney. When the parent dies the POA becomes null and void and the account would pass directly to the daughter as a beneficiary outside of probate.

A house, the land it's on, and a car. Total value of FAR less than $100,000. Probably less than 50,000. All three items are paid off. And no debts owed by the decided.
