Reinforcing the Blythe Knee
Episode 6
Tools Used
• Small Phillips Screw
• M2 x 5 mm
• Hot Water & Container
• Drying cloth
In this shortened video, you see the simple process of modifying the knees on the Azone Pure Neemo body. This is the body form my Blythe came with. The total time took slightly over 10 minutes. It's a quick technique.
I had these materials on hand already. So I can't attest to where to get them from for certain. But I know the screwdriver set is sold at bargain stores & the screws are in a mixed set on the AliExpress website.

Washing and Styling Synthetic Blythe Hair
Просмотров 717Год назад
Episode 5 of the Blythe Series In this video, I demonstrate how I cleanse and add scent to the factory hair of my new coll. Rerooting is not in my plans for her just yet, so here is to lightly changing her manufactured locks she came with. Additionally, I wanted to see if dry styling her hair and leaving it a few days results in a held pattern, which it does! To de-shine: I used generic apple c...
Sculpting & Sanding my first Blythe!
Просмотров 602Год назад
Episode 4 of the Blythe Series In this episode, I've got my DBS Blythe disassembled, and it's time to remove all traces of the original factory mold/paint. As this is my initial experience, it had taken me a few days to sculpt 🙈, so the video is predominately in hyperspeed with a voice-over narration. I go over the tools used, the order in which I did this portion of customization, and show the...
Easy 'Sleepy Eyes' retrofit on a DBS Blythe
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.Год назад
Episode 3 of the Blythe Series Here, I show you how to remove the customary eye spring and replace it with a pull string to create the Sleepy Eye effect on a DBS Blythe doll. It is a quick transition to perform. You'll need a single sturdy thin cord of your choice (or two matching ones if you're replacing both). Beads if you'd like to adorn your pull strings, and make sure there's enough length...

    What did you use on the wooden hearts to make the glitter stick? Elmer's school glue? Mod podge? Please explain Thanx

      @PersonalEffectsbyMelissa 8 месяцев назад

      Hi! I simply applied the glitter to the hearts immediately after painting. So before the paint dried, I used it to bond to the glitter. No glue used.

      Thank you! I'm glad it has been useful in any way. I had to temporarily pause the Blythe Series as the eye chips I ordered never came in. In the meantime, I commenced other projects & she got put away for safe keeping - and life went on. But *exclusive*: I've recently brought her back out, though I STILL need those eye chips. Thank you so much for your support 🙏🏻 & feedback.

      Hi, Lena! With different molds and manufacturers comes the variety of names. Zhongshan Debisheng Toys, or DBS, is a company that manufactures several different kinds of doll and doll accessories, including a specific high-quality imitation Blythe doll. Welcome to the Blythe world!

      Aliexpress dolls are not really "Blythe" dolls, so this is not a legit name for a facemold. Its a marketing trick.

    Thank you! Thank you so much for this! It's amazing to me that you have only a few likes on this when you're the only one I've found that was honest and told me how to specifically just do sleep eyes which is what I wanted! And since you made this video I now know I can actually do this myself and not mess up my doll😍

    This is great! I will try this sometime. I have a Blythe with a weak knee - my fix was to squeeze a thin layer of hot glue on the inner joint of the lower half of the leg. It seemed the peg in the joint was a bit too long (the lower part was not flush with the upper part) so the hot glue helped to compensate for the extra length, and I think it adds some friction. I REALLY like this idea, though. Reinforcing the peg makes so much sense. Thanks so much!!

    • @PersonalEffectsbyMelissa
      @PersonalEffectsbyMelissa Год назад

      That was a fantastic remedy! I had considered using glue, not hot glue but a super glue, but I wanted to keep mobility and was afraid that fusing it with glue would eliminate that possibility, though it would fix the weak knee. Did you let the hot glue cool before putting the lower leg back on? Was the joint still mobile with the added layer in there? I hadn't considered the hot glue. Thank you for sharing! 😊
