i was playing on my tenryu bryan and i just got matched with a tekken king hwoa even tho i have the 3 preferred thing on like wtf do they expect me to do. im also gettting like 99% blue ranks even tho my highest is a battle ruler azu.

This is coming from an exclusive rank 25 Bryan player. I don't think it's toxicity or lack of matchup knowledge. In many of these Combo Breaker situations, the Victor and Reina players are top-tier Tekken players in general. They are just there to compete, do they put all their training into the strong characters. It's kinda like what i heard T5 was like with Bob. Though it's not what I'd do, i don't necessarily think it comes from a toxic place.

Tbh even in the casual matchmaking it's the same exact thing, like i just go on to show off my customization of my character and i see peeps sweating their balls off with their two string combo that's takes them through ranked.

They need to make more counterplay for heat smashes and heat-only moves. They dictate and control the entire pacing of a match and they should not be plus on block, plus on hit, track on both sides and cover range 3 distance and even if you block it you still have to guess again from stances even if you block it!

They should make an ELO system once you hit Tekken God Prime. Similar to how SF6 does it.

Chip damage on block should be completely removed from the game. Also neutral guard doesn't exist in this game for some reason. You cannot block, dash block, kbd in this game so this is not tekken for me.

TLDR; prowess matchmaking is good for everyone except for "high/elite ranked" people WHOSE goal is Rank and people who play way too many characters (8+) and its affecting thier overall prowess (very small minority). As someone in similiar ranks, there are barely any people 250k prowess and up. If you take in my matchmaking settings: 4+ bar, +/-3 rank that list is even smaller, lets not even go into how i decline wifi or high plugging %s. How much more for 400k prowess and up? We are already in the gold ranks sir, they need matches too, we can handle it. Sure it would be cool in an idealistic world for us to have closer matchmaking and lower queue times, but my newer/not as good friends. . . the prowess change is a god send for them. Idk about you, but i cake walk anybody in the same rank as me per character if thier prowess is 50k+ pts lower than my own. Rank matchmaking is not as good as prowess matching especially for anyone below purple rank if im being generous. Its a shit stomp. My fundamental advantage does not go away just because im on some side character i touched like twice. My kishin 300k prowess mokujin (if they were in the game) would still beat a kishin bryan (any character really) 170k prowess. Other than familiarity with their character, you got them beat in every other metric: defense experience including string def and common frame trap setup per character, timing for open/close/CH, re-adjustment speed for tempo (passive/keepout/aggression triangle), "basic" movement, option selection and enforcement, conditioning strategy, etc. Prowess matchmaking is really consistent (closely matched prowess wise) below blue ranks. It loses its consistency especially above kishin from what i've seen in favor for faster queue times.
