lmao🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Very informative thanks for the video
It's more nostalgia, it hasn't aged well with effects
I liked this movie but it wasn’t perfect but I give it a 7/10
It's not that they "don't want to work anymore." It's that they're basically slaves to Weyland Yutani. This is basic cyberpunk worldbuilding. Now, it could absolutely have been given more importance in the script rather than speed running these kids onto the derelict, but personally wanting to escape what amounts to corporate slavery is a pretty strong motivation.
It's a futuristic version of a Company Town, Company Towns of the 19th Century were terrible, you weren't paid in money, you were paid in Company Script, and this could only be used in the Company Store, you lived in Company Housing and had zero privacy, the Company could spy on you with impunity and the Company Security could abuse you however they'd like, and if you wanted Real Money, instead of Company Script, they'd charge you fees and take most of it away from you and make it impossible to leave. People died in Towns like this due to the unsafe work environment and almost no safety equipment for workers, so getting out of a Company Town was motivation enough.
@@noheroespublishing1907 An absolute nightmare. It's kind of funny that Weyland Yutani is so focused on modifying humans to survive the harsh environments in the depths of space, when they could improve life expectancy by making living conditions less shitty. But they'd rather spend trillions searching space for a miracle in the Xenomorph's genetics than make practical changes. Yeah. That checks.
fiat lux.
I love your videos but 😅 could you get a little closer to your microphone and make 30 to 45 min long videos. I love listening to movie reviews while trying to fall asleep.
I had a good time with this one. Not near the adrenaline rush of Fury Road but Alyla Browne and Anya Taylor Joy did great as Furiosa but Chris Hemsworth was the show stealer for me! I did feel some pacing issues but overall it was an enjoyable return to the wasteland. Great review!
I love this movie. 7 times.
Mayor peak is right to shut down Ghostbusters, this movie shows that Ghostbusters is worst for new York than ever before, in the original movie, gozer was rising in power and new York needed the Ghostbusters since they were the only ones who had tools that could stop gozer, but now you give dangerous proton packs to immature teenagers. I hated pheby in this movie, she should have been thrown in juvenile detention for the destruction she did, and the echo one destroyed in compound for all the traffic laws The was broken, the original Ghostbusters had the mayors help with poliçe escort and the army keeping the people of new york safe, but it would really suck living in new york with all that going on on top of regular horrible conditions of living in New York.
The biggest mistake this movie makes is missing opportunities to trade nostalgia for solid world-building. I've been replaying the video game, and pretty much every callback to the original film results in a deeper piece of lore, or furthering the cosmology and world-building surrounding Gozer, Ivo Shandor, the library ghost, etc. When doing a sequel, it's impossible not to call back to things established in the original film, but how you do it makes all the difference. The ancient Gozer temple in the Shandor mines in Afterlife is a good example of how to do this right, at least visually. Unfortunately, the fanservice in Frozen Empire and the lackluster character arcs make the film fall flat on its face. It's really just "okay," and I really don't see myself giving half a shit about rewatching it.
Great retrospective, Dominic. You're super quiet in this one, though. The current aesthetic of presenters holding their microphones is quite popular, and you might be able to pull that off with this setup. For my audio on TopTenz and the other channels I host, I always normalize to -3 DB. RUclips isn't quite like broadcast TV, it can be fairly loud, so long as you're not breaking levels.
Definitely the kinda guy you trust with knowing good sci-fi movies. Heck of a film
Aye i ❤ old horror films i dont like modern ones
Yes dude…👍🏼and I’m born in 1972…and because of NO regulations…I can say yes!
Check out the adventure that Ralphie has in his Junior year of high school in “THE GREAT AMERICAN 4TH OF JULY & OTHER DISASTERS”. It aired as an episode of the PBS series “AMERICAN PLAYHOUSE”.
@Relen Entertainment Really nice review Buddy!! You definitely did Your research for this! I am not only a HUGE FAN of this classic movie, but also Jean Shepard as well! I listen to His radio shows all the time, & the story that this came from "RED RYDER NAILS THE CLEVELAND STREET KID" which first appeared in PLAYBOY in 1965, & actually won the Humour award that year!! And Every year since 1!971, Shepard told this story on WOR RADIO IN NY every Christmas Eve for Years! Thank you again for this, & if you could please review what I, & MANY PERSONALLY BELIEVE to be the GREATEST ADAPTATION of Charles Dicken's "A CHRISTMAS CAROL" which is "A MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL?" IT'S ACTUALLY THE TRUEST TO THE ACTUAL BOOK OF EVERY 140 ADAPTATIONS!
...crap movie made for Oscar's night by a bunch of needy self applause narcissist...
I don’t think Roth should’ve went with the killer wearing a pilgrim outfit because it’s really stupid. He’s from Newton suburbs like Krasinski and Oh so many others in Hollywood. We were never really in the same cliques growing up in high schools and there’s a big reason for him being in a position where he would eventually end up in. Sincerely, DJP Anal Cunt; Postmortem and Kilslug Sony;Earache 🇬🇧 Columbia and TAANG!! Records @ ALL RIGHTS RESERVED Greetings 👋 😅from Boston, Massachusetts Amerikkka quite literally
Both book and movie are great imaginative creations but in no way depict true evil.
I enjoyed listening to this while at work, take this sub. Looking forward to more of your work

Very agree with You, My friend
Just watched it for the first time this week. Loved it. I love how visual it is vs just using dialogue to tell the story. Modern films treat audiences like idiots, lacking all subtlety.
Is the movie about a serial killer?
See that's why I don't like horror movies that are done today back in the day a lot of hard work and thought was put into making a movie not like nowadays where everything is a jump scare all through the movie and every thing is computer generated
That's not true. There are still plenty of great horror movies with integrity. You just have to look for them a little more in the ocean of Hollywood trash
What a master piece. Tnx for the video.
Historically, Spiritualism started as a blatant hoax by the infamous Fox sisters. I did the rough edit on the Biographics video about them and their story is fucken nuts. I'm a massive fan of horror and admittedly, have still not seen The Exorcist. I've heard many stories surrounding its production, which you summarize pretty well here. My wife has zero interest in the movie, despite the fact her favorite horror movies are in the supernatural subgenre. If Mike Flanagan made it, she'd watch it.
Best live action attempt at a Batman film. However, Selena's so-called "woke" comment is extremely realistic for a person of color who has struggled her entire life. Frankly, with the shit billionares have been pulling lately, who could honestly blame her?
Oh, shit, yeah, Techno God was the weakest of the bunch, imo.
I normally zone out with these newer VHS movie, but this one was pretty good. There was definitely a big analog horror vibe in this one and I was fucken there for it.
Wow. Strong video, man. Keep going and the Eldritch beast that is the algorithm may smile upon you.
😊 the movie was the best movie in theaters
I really liked this movie. However I wish they would have made some longer.
Techno God was the WORST. Her performance was good but it was a boring story (I had to FF) and the ending was well past 1985’s graphic ability.
I agree with the performances you mentioned and especially with the woman who played Ruth. She was great at being both warm and cold at the same time. Creepy.
I just watched the movie because I saw the review recommended and found it lacking in too many places to be considered worthy of the series. 1985? They should’ve mixed it since it feels like a lot of what they did wasn’t possible in 1985. Even some of the clothes are off.
right on!! 7/10
I’m at a 6/10. Very disappointed. I love this series but this and the last entry just missed the mark for me. This one wasn’t as good as the last one either.
Saw this as a teen in the theater. Great movie, solid cast.
I saw Cliffhanger in the theater. I liked it. Decent cast especially Rooker. He is usually great in everything he is in. Demolition man I enjoyed. Snipes is solid as the villain. Stallone is hit or miss to me. The clip of Judge Dredd, yuck. First time to your channel. Enjoyed the content and subbed.
Awesome movie!
Dont let this clip distract you from the fact that Hector will be running 3 Honda civics with spoon engines and on top of that he went into Harry's and ordered 3 t66 turbos with NOS and a Motec system exhaust
Just saw it , trully heartbreaking , REBECCA FERGUSON'S ILSA FAUST CHARACTER IS DEAD AND BECOMING A CORPSE ON THE VENICE BRIDGE
I mean…compared to F9 it was lol
If there was a ban on CGI Hollywood would be forced to go back to making good movies
I thought Harrison Ford did a great job back as Indy and I found some of the action to be fun… but overall I just felt like this was a disposable feeling kind of movie and the 3rd act really didn’t work for me. I’d be lying if I said I wanted to watch this again, unfortunately. Great review, man 👍
I hated the sequel. It was ugly, lifeless and flat. I couldn't care less about the characters and the dialog was painfully bad.
When they mean down to Earth, they mean they weren't going to space this time.
