He's always been a down to earth person. He'd always return home to Liverpool for family parties at the pub. Eleanor Rigby was inspired by the stories of an elderly woman that Paul used to visit when he was a boy. She was not a relative, and he was not made to do that. He thought she was lonely, needed company, and he was interested in her recollections. That's a special kid; that's intelligence and sensitivity.
what a fantasic historical document this event was.
Conan is outstanding. Great interview. Outstanding
I’m surprised I’m just finding out about this as a fan of both Paul McCartney and Conan lol
Paul is a genius, but he is also so gracious. He has learned how to handle his immense fame in a classy manner.
Ironically, The Quarrymen recorded In Spite of All the Danger the day before John's mother was killed. John was the first of four children his mother gave birth to and the only child Julia and Alfred Lennon. She had three daughters with two other men. On his father's side, John had two half brothers. The reason for Alfred Lennon's absence was WW2. He was at sea hauling guns and ammo from America and came home to find Julia pregnant with her oldest daughter. She was born in 1945 and given up for adoption to a Norwegian family and named Ingrid Pedersen. John's Aunt Harriet told him about his adopted half sister in 1964 and he had classified ads printed in newspapers and hired investigators to track her down, but he never got to meet her. She didn't know she was adopted until she was snooping around in her mother's belongings in 1966 and discovered her birth certificate with her adopted name and birth name, Victoria Elizabeth Lennon, and the identity of her birth mother, but she kept the secret until after her adoptive mother died in 1998.
Agree 100%
This is not James Paul McCartney. This is Billy Shears. Paul McCartney died in 1966. This is the truth. I know for sure. 100%.
I could watch this stuff for 12 hours and still be sad that it ended. What a great special event with Sir Paul and the Nan!!! Loved every second of it. Thanks so much.
Oh thank you for editing that together! I really wanted to see the video version after having listened to the episode! What an episode by the way! It made me listen to Beatles music all day and think about the life they must have had back then!
40:34 "George is very good at that" ;((
Thank you for keeping recording man. Even you were not in the beast seats you bother to pan the camera to the pictures. Thank you
It's not too often Conan gets completely serious. I felt that heartfelt honoring of Paul at the end.
Love this interview! Thank you Sir Paul and Conan! 💕
Are the police officers in the UK armed with knives?
I can not thank enough the person who filmed and uploaded this. It's actually strange that there is no official version (or is there?). Anyway, awesome, wonderful job.
Recitation of a narrative
Can you imagine all the people Paul has met in his life and knows. Its probably incredible.
I always hoped Paul would get a chance to sit down with julian lennon and have a long private talk with him.
What a great show. My heart is forever Pauls. I love him. ❤
The most amazing thing about Paul is his ability to recall these times in great detail. We are all so lucky to hear these stories in real time.
i love grandpa McCartney.. thankyou for sharing this 🙂 x
Anyone know why they are so high up and we can hardly see them?
Great show. What a joy to see him talk about his experiences.
That's 60 years a go!!
Has anyone bought the book or is planning on buying it?

This is spectacular. Thanks.
When was this?
This is an incredible video! So glad it came up in my feed!
I cherish and admire Paul McCartney, Beatles music (particularly second half of their output), *and* my second Ammendment rights.
Probably a little difficult today for anyone under 50 to get a real handle on the enormity of The Beatles impact around the world, the intensity, ubiquity & magnitude...(Think Taylor Swift x20)...at least. Though nobody, not even Zeppelin in the decade they owned (the 70's), has ever been as broadly embraced, the only reason The Beatles legend will endure is the quality of their artistic output, particularly the second half of 1960's decade.....so many unique groundbreaking songs.
I could listen to Paul telling stories for hours. I think what the four of them experienced from rags to riches and Beatlemania was one of the things that bonded them together.
John Lennon taken from us too soon December 8, 1980!! Never forgotten. One of four men ❤who changed our world for the better. 🎉😊😢
Wonderful, wonderful interview!!! 🙏❤️
What a fantastic accidental ad for Pentax.
i really wish conan would release the full filmed podcasts on RUclips
I love their chemistry and sense of humor together, like a long version of this old interview ruclips.net/video/Vt7EwaiYxok/видео.htmlsi=f9I1GODY5N3zxpNY
How did I miss this!?? What a blessing. I hadn't slept and getting ready for work. It made me very happy. Conan and Paul have great chemistry

McCartney was EXTREMELY diplomatic about America's gun culture and gun laws @55:28. Talk about a picture telling 1000 words. The fact he said so little and the inference to Lennon's death was so obvious, it was very powerful.
❤❤❤❤
Although I'm a the biggest John Lennon fan you could ever imagine, Paul is the most famous person alive. Please cherish every moment of being on the same planet as him.
Same. I'm a huge John fan but i'm very thankful we have Paul. So many great stories and insights he has to share with us. It's a beautiful thing.
John was murdered. Slaughtered in his driveway. Shot 8 times he bled out
Thank you Thank you a trillion times over for downloading this video
who is the young gentleman wearing blue on the right at around 2:28? i went to school around this time, and i know him, i forgot his name and would like to reconnect for the 10th year anniversary. thank you.
. Strange that Sir Paul doesn't remember that his bandmate, George Harrison (19:09), was born LONG before the end of WWII (February 25, 1943, to be exact)......well......a good two years before it was all over, any way. His album title, _Memory Almost Full_ (2007) leaps IMMEDIATELY to mind !! 😉 .
C’mon, cut the old scouser some slack; he remembers pretty much everything else! 😅
@@wggio . God Bless, Sir Paul.......(and Sir Ringo !!) !! 🙂 .
Paul has always exaggerated the difference in ages between him and George. There was only 9 months between them but he often refers to it as a couple of years. It used to wind George up, as he saw it as part of Paul inadvertently belittling him.
Does anyone see the monkey part? I can’t find it, I listened to it and thought it was so funny!
Great interview but Conan has an annoying phony laugh.Other than that I enjoyed this.
Its like interviewing Mozart. We should really cherish what we have in front of us.
Paul McCartney is just wonderfully young at heart, To thank him really isnt enough, hes changed my life ❤️ ill alway adore the Beatles, from the bottom of my heart so much love, the gift you have has raised to inspeackable highs . Again much love Paul.❤❤❤❤❤❤😢😊😊😊😊
