That was such a cold night ❄️ I just discovered your channel and you have a new subscriber. I'm looking forward to watch your videos.
@gardentours welcome! Yes hopefully no more quite that cold this year.
Fantastic tour. is your garden square shaped? Thats the thing about a tropical look you can never really tell :-)
Not really, I did a plan when I first started and it's an odd shape. Long triangle but the long edge bends by the last arch towards the paddock.
Great video! all looking great considering ! we got down to -6 for a few nights, just gone out today to unwrap all but the bananas lol.
@@richf_tropical_garden_projects thank you, yeah it's already up to a balmy 8c tomorrow!
@tazn1986 same for me! i dont think these drastic changes will make the plants happy though, hopefully we stay mild for the rest of the winter
@@tazn1986 Fantastic news!
Hope you are feeling better dude. Love the depth arches bring to your garden. The loquat tree is exactly the same size as mine, makes me think we bought it at the same place online! yours is more sheltered than mine by the looks of things. I will follow for updates. Great tour thanks for sharing.
@@GrowTropicalMK thanks, yeah much better now. They are a great tree aren't they? I got mine from UJ as it's local(ish) been thinking of another.
@tazn1986 awesome tree! There are a few examples near me that are almost house sized, so I'm going to stick with the one myself;-)
Really beautiful, can you please give me your opinion on my garden
Great garden, beautiful plants!
very nice update. what have you used for the soil and have you added anything to it.
@@ericnyamu9981 the garden is on heavy clay but the top soil has been improved over the years with a variety of things; garden compost, composted wood chip and spent mushroom compost. Planters are usually a mix of garden compost and shop compost. I don't tend to worry about grit in my mixes (except cacti type plants) as my garden compost is quite chunky anyway.
Absolutely stunning garden
Beautiful looking garden and a great selection of plants, They are the bees knees.
A choice selection of plants!
Look at that leaf ! amazing video
Thanks, over the moon with how well it's doing as I don't have much look with 'fancy' colocasia's.
that phormium looks very at home. really enjoyed this, thank you.
You've created a tropical wonderland there 😊
Terimakasih sudah mengajak kami berkeliling di kebun anda yang luar biasa menakjubkan banyak tanaman yang anda tanam dengan baik dan sepenuh hati
Excellent video I really enjoyed this. You have an amazing garden.
Thank you, a lot of effort over the last few years but it's getting there!
@@tazn1986 All worth it..what a treat for the eyes!
The soft caress shrub is it in sun or shade?
It's a full sun position but has some shade/shelter from the honeysuckle and palm.
@@tazn1986 thank you so much for your response.. I have two that I planted in full sun and they’re doing great so I was hoping it would be OK .. I have positioned a couple of sign, loving, Kimberly Queen ferns behind it so it does get some shelter.
@@tazn1986 sun ferns
@@juliejenkins4743 they don't take long to establish, that one has been there about 4 years from a 1ltre plant. Fantastic display of yellow flowers at the end of winter.
@@tazn1986 I just recently planted them and they’re doing great .. I have golden goddess bamboo clumping variety so it does not escape my yard but I’m trying to find more plants that are tropical themed because I’m feeding the hummingbirds also …. Thanks for the good information.
Looks great!
Thanks, lots of plans for it this year.
Nice video, thanks, I’m heavy clay too especially on north facing so need to improve that.
Love your garden. My first viewing. Looking forward to seeing it put on its summer cloths 😊
that bambo thats pushing up against the wall just needs to be trimmed not removed entirely. it has already found a nice spot for growing. donot be that guy ruining it.
Really beautiful your terrariums!
Thank you! I'm really glad you like it, stick around for updates over the coming months.
Do you remember the name of the plant at 6:52? Looked quite interesting!
Sure it's a coniogramme, unsure exactly which one but likely emeiensis. It was heavily damaged by slugs but has bounced back since being in the ground. Hopefully it'll make it through winter so will report back next year!
Cheers for sharing and yes to the terrarium
Please keep making your garden videos as they are so inspiring. Your garden is amazing and its so interesting to see it through the different seasons 👏.
Not currently but once (if) the garden is finished I'd love to do open days
I really enjoy your videos, keep it up 😊 do you do open gardens?
You missed a shoot on the musa basjoo, I could see it at the back. Great garden. Subscribed
Subscribed! Thank you for sharing your garden with us. A lovely variety of plants and hoping the best for some of your plants that are on the edge. Hang in there!
Have just found your channel, think I'm going to enjoy following the development of your garden over the coming year (I-mate in the South East). Wonder if you could state in your channel's explanatory note what type of soil you have, and it's ph. Also your Zone (both UK and USA equivalent for your overseas viewers). O me you I had winter losses - mainly Hebes, Pittosporum and Salvias.
Thanks for advice, yes I'll have to sort all those bits out to help folk know what kind of conditions we have in the garden.
Nice mixture of plants, keen to see your progress and updates as the season goes on!
Hi, interesting to see the work you are doing in the garden. Just a question, at 6mins 10secs approx I think I caught a glimpse of a Manihot Grahamii ? Did it make it through the winter outside ?
Sorry for delay, sadly not it's a fatsia polycarpa green fingers.
lovely garden eager to see the progress
Nice collection
Thanks, taken afew years to get to this stage but planning on doing some big changes this year.
Thanks for sharing. All the best.
