How Hot does ShoreMaster Decking Get in the Sun?
Просмотров 545Год назад
In this video, Chris tells us about how hot each ShoreMaster Panel gets after sitting in the sun for a while. The panels were set outside on the dock when it was about 80 degrees out. The hottest one gets to 107.7 degrees. Keep in mind that the average shower temperature is 105 degrees, and asphalt can easily get to temperatures of over 125 degrees on just a sunny 75 degree day.

What size socket is that for the gear lube drain?
How much does this cost to get done on an 18’ Pontoon?
This year it's $19 per foot so an 18' boat would be $342 plus sales tax
After fogging 4 cylinders I bumped my 115 Merc but it actually turned over about 5-10 times. Isn't this Ok.
Does the 115 xs pro has the same sticker ?
yes it should
Trashmaster
Thanks for the video. I have a 4,000 lb Shoremaster lift you installed a few years ago. I noticed yesterday that one of the leveling cables isn't under tension as I lift my boat; but gets tension again once I lower the boat on the lift. Could a cable be off the pulley?
Where do you buy the pads?
We sell them here at Brinson Marine as a ShoreMaster dealer! Give us a call at (315)469-4867!
Where do you buy the pads?
Great video but get a remote. It was painful to watch without. :).
Thanks for the comment! We were using one of our customers boat and lift for the video, and we did not have his remote so we used his key!
@@brinsonmarine lol. That’s for doing videos like that.
It would be nice if there was a marker showing the stop point for how low the cradle can be lowered
Lot of work never had to really do any of this except every few years not every year. Thats why i have always
Where do i got to buy this, im in NC with a 2 acre pond. Im considering this or tommy docks…
What if there isn't one there how do I find the year
Sometimes the serial number is stamped on the block, but that is often not the case. Unfortunately this is no other way (that I'm aware of) to identify the year.
55 lbs of torque. You need to use a torque wrench when reinstalling prop.

Do you know what year my 175 black max mercury is ? I just found this ser# 6091626 it's a two stroke. Thanks
Hey I punched in that serial number into Mercury's portal and it came up as a 1981 200HP ELPT. Hope that helps
Wow,thank you so much. That was a totally shocker. It has 175 black max badges on the cowling. Thanks for your response.
I believe someone did have to in the water to release the dock panels underneath.
it's quicker to do that from the water but you can avoid getting wet if you kneel or lay down on the dock and reach underneath to release the clips on the dock panels.
Great video
Great video!
What if the tags gone?
In most cases there is a soft plug, under the cover, on the block that has the serial number stamped in it. If you don't see that then sometimes the ignition parts (harness, coil, ECM, switch box) will have a date code (mm/year)on a tag. That isn't always accurate as the part could have been changed along the way but if it seems like an original part it can help.
It is not there. I hava sticker there but no serial number
brilliant tape method..
what do you charge for this?? I'm not local but wondering what to expect..
We have a 2004 mercury 50hp outboard motor, the tag is not on the transit bracket
Like how he’s like so easy in my warehouse floor…try coming to my dock and doing that on your own
No stickers or plates. Boat is a1995 # on the head is 017-8359. Mercury 40hp
Sometimes there is a soft plug with a stamped serial number that can help. Otherwise, you might see a date code on a wiring harness ie: 04/95 . Unfortunately the number you found doesn't help much as I don't see a part number with that number.
Cache moteur 115.mercy.plis
not having to fog the old 2 smokes anymore is great!love my new 4 stroke engine!
My 115 is on a fishing boat and I fish all year do I need the fogger?
Mercury recommends fogging for storage so if you're using it all year, I'd say you don't need to fog it.
What about the water in the engine? Do you have to run antifreeze through the engine?
When the motor is upright, the water will drain out so running antifreeze is not necessary.
@@julianberman8600 I really appreciate you responding to my question on a 3 yesr old video. Thank you.
Very good shown and explained
This video would have been an absolute ten if you had a better cameraman. The cameraman didn't zoom in during any of the key moments.
what width wrap do you use for a pontoon?
We use 18' wide wrap. 17' can also work especially if its an 8' wide pontoon and not 8.5' Thanks for commenting.
what if there is no sticker where else can you find information on the motor
I have a Gen 4 and the "up" does not work on the remote. Works fine with the key. I have tried with both remotes that I own. The "down" works fine. The "Up" doesn't work on either remote. Only with the key. My Gen4 Unit is only 2 years old. Any suggestions!?!? I have reset the unit and re-paired each remote several times. "Up" still does not work on the remotes
We would recommend getting a new remote that did not come with the motor. However, there could be a problem with the receiver on the motor itself. If the motor is within 2 years old, you may have a warranty on the motor!
@@brinsonmarine Thanks so much for the reply! Unfortunately my unit is 2 years, 8 months old. I hear a click inside the unit when I release the up button on the remote, so I think it's an issue with the receiver relay on the motor. :( Not sure how I am going to remove it and ship it to Lift Boss for repair. I'm sure the shipping is going to be a fortune.
@@markdanon1172 You could also try contacting Extreme Max (who makes the Lift Boss) to see if they have any suggestions for you. They do offer repair services but like you said, you'd have to mail the unit in to them.
@@brinsonmarine Thanks so much. You guys are awesome! Love your videos! I've got the installer (in GA) coming out next week to replace the sensor module for the remote inside the motor unit. Hopefully Extreme Max will cover it under warranty. It's a few months past the 2 year warranty.
I’ve heard on a forum that the electric motor shown at the beginning of the video has been recalled due to not being strong enough for 5000lbs plus. Isvthuu oh sorry
ShoreMaster still uses these motors on their 5000lb capacity lifts and we have not personally had any problems with this issue. Nor have we heard anything about any recalls!
How much cable should be on the spool? I’m having a heck of a time cranking my boat up so I started looking at possibilities of why? The winch is laying on my dock right now & there’s probably close to 8-10 feet on the winch! It’s doubled back n itself in 2 places & has court through the cable guide housing even! Used lift for me this spring.
Our cables are 24.5 feet total for our 3/4/5/6k lifts! What lift do you have? When the cradle is all the way down, there should be enough cable for one spool around the winch. It sounds like your cable may be too long.
My 50hp 4 stroke mercury is a very recent motor so my serial number ends in 52. My sticker on my motor does not say what year motor it is anywhere. How can I find out?
If you contact your Mercury Dealer with your Serial Number, they can tell you what year it is. Or you can email it to us at information@brinsonmarine.com and we will be happy to help you out!
@@brinsonmarinethat email does not exist.
Cedar wood is not the lowest cost !
What about the center pulley in the front beam?
All the newer ShoreMaster lifts do not have a pulley in the middle. They instead feature a roller where the cable slides underneath. In the older lifts, there is a middle pulley which is exposed underneath the cradle beam! You can get to it from there. Please let us know if this helps!
How do I get parts for my boat lift. I broke the leveling cable on the crank side. Can you help me?
How about if my shoremaster whisper winch is squealing when lowering the boat? Sounds like a brake squeak super annoying.
Will Marinas let you do your own maintenance?
Yes
Why does the bolt for the wheel come loose when you turn the wheel ?
Lift won't go down,put goes up,,,,,Any thoughts??(
Tough to say without looking at it. There are a lot of different things that could be going on. I'd recommend contacting your local dealer to have them come take a look.
Can I send you a picture of my motor
Yes, sorry for the late response, You can text it to us at 315-469-4867 or email it to information@brinsonmarine.com
Great video. Just one question, how many quarts did you put into that motor?
If that is torn of where is the alternate ?
If the sticker is missing then it will be tough to find the serial number. On some engines the serial number will be stamped into the freeze plugs but certainly not all of them. If you can't find the serial there then you might be out of luck.
Great presentation
Thank You!
Nicely done, with each step explained.
