Hi Cata or Shane. A few needed tips: You need to get a couple of characters up to level 2 before you are ready for the Nashkel Mines, kobolds tend to set a lot of traps and you need a good thief and cleric or druid. A good place to level up to level 2 is in the area above Nashkel town, you were almost there though. However, each time you exchange a character for a new one, you will often have to start level the new ones up again. It is ok to reload a save a bit earlier and get some more characters back. You can reach other map locations by leaving an area from the side facing the way you want to travel. For each character if you click on the character portrait button (5th from the top), you can scroll down and see which weapons they each are proficient with. You should equip them with those weapons. Also get Kivan a bow and plenty of arrows. Try to get Imoen back and level her up to level 2 and give her a lot of points in find/remove traps and open locks as well as a leather armor, and make sure all the others have the best possible metal armors - the lower armor class the better. You can buy more equipment at the stores or inns in Nashkel and in Beregost. Use the thieving button for a thief to remove traps, pick pocket and open locks. The time limit isn't that hard, you have a couple of days - and the time limit only counts if you have NPC's like Jaheira (who's great) and Khaled. If you get a mage like Edwin they are like a long term investment. They can cast only a couple of spells pr. day from the spell hot bar - like Jaheira or there is another priest at the Carnival east of Nashkel town - but they can become quite powerful later on if you give them a sling and lots of arrows for now and keep them alive. You NEED a priest or druid though to keep the others in good health, sleeping at an inn helps too. Once they advance in level you can equip more spells or exchange them for others in tab 6 (wizard spells) and tab 7 (priest/druid spells). I recommend you give Baldur's Gate 1 another go as it is great and a lot easier to learn at first than Baldur's Gate 2, and helps you get ready for that. Ultimately Baldur's Gate 2 is the best CRPG of all time and certainly worth the investment. Also by the end you will know how to play Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) and can play any game with rules from TSR (Tactical Studies Rules, the creators of D&D - games like D&D Basic/Expert and Advanced D&D) or the quickly growing OSR (Old School Renaissance - games like Old School Essentials, Dolmenwood, Hyperboria 3 and "Swords & Wizardry"). Have fun.

I havent started my platinum yet but I'm wondering, what if I change my difficulty from easy to crushing right exactly near at the end of every chapter, will I unlock the crushing trophy for it? like im gonna play the whole chapter in easy mode then instantly change to crushing when the chapter is about to end.

if you’ve never beaten brutal then use a cheat code you still haven’t beaten brutal 😂

Shame there also isn’t an invincibility tweak but this should help as well

Nice review. I just finished ME1 had a blast (even if I died a lot) and moving on to 2. One of the most enjoyable sci-fi story + action adventure game I've played. It's funny how almost all the flaws you mentioned did get addressed in ME2.

Thanks for reviewing this. This game has been on my wishlist for a while and wanted to check it out coz of the good reviews. But now that I saw the frustrating parts, I'll probably wait for it to be free or go on Gamepass. Oh and I remember playing 2 previous gamepass titles that are also cute but not as difficult/frustrating: Tinykin and Nobody Saves The World, you might want to check those.
