I just want to ask why the one side of many Kenmore machines yellow and what can be done about it. Also, always put your foot up before threading. Just sayin Great video!

Thank you! Belinda blouse by French navy. It fits well through the shoulders but the neck is bigger than I'd like it to be.
Ohhh ok. I'm not familiar with that pattern. I googled it and saw a button up shirt. Something to be cautious of.....the adjustment you want to make is tricky because if it's fitting well in the shoulder, changes to the collar can negatively change the shoulder. Say you take two inches out the collar. That means your shoulder moves an inch towards your neck. Now, your shoulder may fit differently. It's just something to watch out for as some changes have a ripple effect.

Very helpful, but if it also has a collar stand and collar, will they need to be changed? The neck is too big on a shirt I just made and I'm trying to understand how to fix it on the next one. It has a yoke, collar stand, and collar. Thanks very much!
@janicecittasubhasheppard3474 This adjustment is for a collar that is gaping around the neck. If you change the neck circumference, you'll have to change the collar/stand. You'd note how many inches to take out of the neck then take the same out of the stand and collar. But if your garment is significantly larger than you need, you may need to use a smaller size. What pattern are you working with?

I start from the top and work my way down. Most importantly, length chages before width chance.
Great video 😊. Would you always do it in that order? Bust, then waist? Also if the hip needs to be adjusted as well would you go bust, waist hip? Or hip, waist if only those two adjustments are needed?

How did you know how far down to go from the top? 🌸
If you're increasing the waist, you'd want to pivot from the hip area. But I often choose a little above the knee. If that makes the hips to wide, I can pin it out.

You would think singer would make a longer nozzle on their oil bottle.
If you can just "ever so slightly" pass the flame of a lighter over the frayed parts they'll just shrink & band together -cause they're nylon -& won't fray anymore.

Yes ma'am. This is called the pivot and slide method. I use it along with the slash and spread method you've seen me do for the length adjustments.
Hi Are you Aware Of Patterns
Maybe the princess seams need to be ironed or something because they look like crooked/ angled pleats. I don't think the print is working with the princess seams and the flare at the waist. Maybe the pants under the dress is not helping either. It's not bad for a muslin but I think you'll work it out and I'll just love the finished product. I love all things Ankara anyway 😂
Hey Robyn!! The fabric is absolutely UGLY but it was FREEEEEE! And, the pattern says to avoid obvious stripes and what you see is why that's written on the pattern envelope. I'm nervous about the ankara fabric because it has squares but I'm using it to show one of my other students that a pattern is only a pattern. The fabric and sewing construction is what makes a beautiful dress.
