Thanks for the support!
Best set at Dom Dolla / John Summit Gorge Amp show
No doubt.
After the first two times I heard her play I’ve contended that along with Hector Rodriguez she is probably the best set curator I’ve heard in the game.
Agree. Her set will be out later this week. It's a burner for sure.
Awesome interview!! The perfect DJ to spotlight in this interview!! Sloane Motion is such a great DJ and connects on such a personal level with everyone she meets! 🫶🏻🫶🏻
We were super impressed. What you didn't see is we all hung out another hour or so on the backend covering a wide range of topics. There should def be a pt.2
Fantastic job on this interview, Sloane Cosen, aka Sloane Motion! You’re an incredible individual and so down-to-earth. This is exactly why I support you-by showing up to your shows and dancing my heart out. Kudos to the House Mafia for this interview, and thank you for spotlighting such an amazing person! Sloane, as a side note on producing: I know many DJs who collaborate with someone skilled in Ableton. While that person handles most of the technical work, the DJ provides the creative direction to bring their vision to life.
Sloane humbly lines em up and knocks em down. Gonna be fun to watch this one's journey in 2025.
🔊🙌🏻✨
Thanks for tuning in!
This made my day, I had a glorious G&T Sunday afternoon laced with this vybe... Jan 2025 in Vic Aus ⚡️💣💥🔥🔥🔥
Ah man. Glad you enjoyed it. We appreciate the support.
Manito I love it! Thank you! 🫶
100%! Thanks for stopping in.
Do you know if its possible to use the 3rd channel (in the middle) to hook up a CDJ, so I could play w/ 2 turntables and 1 CDJ? Thanks
Absolutely you can use the middle channel. Keep in mind you do lose the mid range EQ so essentially you only have low and high eqs. but yes, I've totally done this for recording a "mostly" vinyl set when I wanted to incorporate a CDJ.
Ok, but where did you get your t-shirt?
My super supportive wife was the one who got this for me. I will ask her.
Fun aside, she did all the art in the background in my studio.
Loving the set!👏🏾
So good right?
Absolutely...
Thanks for tuning in!
Thanks for the detailed and honest review. I’m looking at this quite seriously and your insights have really helped.
I think you'll dig it man. The other budget rotary I've been recent fascinated with is the new Union Audio .2LE fx. It lacks a 3 band EQ but depending on your mixing style, it may be a consideration. I need to get my hands on one - Mojaxx did a recent review and had some nice words. I can't link here but do a search and you will find his DJ City review. Let me know where you land.
One of Seattle’s or better yet, one of the regions most creative live real-time content producers. Watching him and Sean Fischer (Plamphaus) is “Ya-dada”
Totally agree plus he def knows when to hit that "woo" button.
Union Audio (aka old Mastersounds) have build-in FX.
Yep just saw the Orbit .2LE review from Mojaxx. Those .2 and .4 look like really nice bang for the buck but man that efx select and just general interface is super clunky on the .2LE. I'd take Pioneer/AlphaTheta all day here.
@@seattlehousemafiaSure, I’d take a Euphoria too if I could sell an arm. The Orbit LE FX is nice for the price, quality of sound and being analogue.
agree. For the money, sound quality and the actual footprint, cool little mixer.
@ thanks for the replies, keep up the great work 👋
Fucking enjoying this!!!! 😎
100%
Where can we get this? Its needed 😮
It was a custom order from the Pelican website. I can't put the URL here so just google Pelican cases.
this is so smooth!!!!
100%
Can’t stop smiling while I listen to this! All the names…..❤
Same. Such a fun conversation.
Love you PappaT!!!!
Thanks for checking out the episode!
much love from eugene oregon, thanks for the info.
Anytime. Feel free to reach out if you have additional questions.
Paul is the house music goat!!
Definitely no argument over here. Thanks for tuning in.
Love D so glad you did this! Much love!
We had a blast as expected. Thanks for tuning in.
Watch... whole set, not one damn vocal
Thanks for tuning in. We appreciate the ongoing support!
sarcasm is live & well, btw 😂
Ha, it sure is. Have a good one sir.
What's the size comparison for the EQ, trim, and send knobs? I have a V10 but can't really get a good impression on the size. The faders and ISO on the Euphonia look to be about as wide as the ISO on the V10, but a little shorter/not as tall
the Euphonia EQ feels slightly roomier than my V10. I would have to get it back in studio to actually compare but my memory is the eqs/sends are a bit more spaced out like the A9. All that said, I have pretty meaty hands and have never had an issue with the V10.
@ ok good! My Euphonia is on the way and I want to make sure the EQ and trim knobs aren't tiny...they almost look like the size of the EQs for the V10 which is fine. Anything smaller would be a concern because I have big hands as well
Nah, I think you'll be good/happy with the spacing. Definitely get back to us on your feedback though. I think you're gonna dig the Euphonia. I honestly wish I had more time with it but it was a loaner.
@@seattlehousemafia It’s actually a nice mixer. The build quality is definitely solid. There are a few things on there that raise questions (more on that later), but it’s a tank. It’s refreshing to see a mixer that’s not so deep. I can put this thing down and it gives me a sense of control that I can see everything. It’s hard to explain because I can see the entirety of the mixer instead of feeling like I’m mixing on a sound console - The sound is insanely good. Headphones or on speakers. On the A9/V10/etc you have to be precise for EQing because you can tell the difference, but the way they configured this mixer, things aren’t as black and white. The sounds seem to “blend” better and you can be a little more loose. I thought the lack of full-kill would be an issue. Nope. I know the AT reps said “sweet spot” knob position is between 7 and 8, but turn it to 10 and there isn’t a difference. -There is a good amount of space between the EQ/send/trim. I wish they were a little wider though for better stability. I feel like they’re gonna get loose and wiggly. Bigger knobs can handle that type of use and abuse over time, but these…not so much -The line knobs are nice, but once again I wish they were bigger. The ISO knobs are a perfect size and they should’ve been implemented on the bottom knobs. That rubber is gonna get gross for sure. It appears to be the same material they use on the A9/V10/etc, and those get nasty. The thing that sucks is those knobs are difficult to change, so the mixer would need to get sent in for proper repair -I like the VU meter. I don’t think it’s even 75%, but it’s a nice touch over looking at the line levels. The master level is a good reference and is solid -The boost level at +12 is…quite something. +6 is perfect and loud enough for boosting. A +3 and +6 would be a better option. To be fair I’m not creative enough to see a use for +12 -The dual-level idea is phenomenal. That being said, it’s a fingerprint magnet. I can see that area getting scratched or dinged easily. It’s possible they could have made the top part the same material as the bottom (kinda like metal) and had the screen fitted within it. I know they wanted a visual differentiation from the bottom, but shiny plastic wasn’t the way to go here -The effects are fine. Having a send button is fun when messing with the low/mid/high instead of using the send knob only. I’m surprised a 2/1 wasn’t included. Not being able to see the effect timing on the screen sucks. Not having a dedicated filter as well as an ISO passthrough was a huge mistake…that’s my biggest complaint about it. -I have an EFX-1000 (not an RMX-1000) and running that as a master insert doesn’t result in a huge drop in quality. Getting the levels right was tricky at first, but no biggie after that -I’d say the V10 is the “best” choice when it comes to available features and sound quality. Funnily enough, it wasn’t for me because it had TOO much stuff. The Xone 96 is great and 4-band EQs were something I didn’t know I needed until I tried it, but I wanted 100% Rekordbox compatibility -Even with the criticism, I still think it’s a great mixer. I’ve used a rotary kit on mixers before, but never a proper rotary layout. My style of mixing is aligned with what it has to offer and I was growing tired of what Pioneer, A&H, Rane, etc. were putting out. I’ll play with it for another week and see if it’s worth keeping
Great feedback and you pretty much nailed everything I observed plus added some great additional things to consider - like the 2/1 efx assign and agree one the detached filter. My hunch is you'll keep it :) but definitely let me know what you decide.
Ohh firsts.... COME ON SEATTLE!!!
Ha. You know the assignment.
I Thank U ALL!
Seattle can't wait to have you back.

Seems like a lifetime ago
That Lux story is hilarious, D was why I bought my first United DJ's CD (Little Louie Vega)
Yep, I wore that LLV CD out. I think I still have it...somewhere.
C'mon Seattle. Love me some DPT. It was Heather opening night of dialect and I have the Lotus Magazine article that describes a dancer stopping Heather's set to hype the DJ and I was there. Supp D
I remember that night well. Heather's set totally blew me away.
Spanaway is a great place to be from not in...lol
sounds like it.
Outdoes and outshines in every way, been looking up to this man for a long time.
Yep. Rings true for a lot of us.
Ive always loved you brother. you were always the party. I always knew if you were there, it was gonna be great. Your smile was legendary. thank you for your positive energy you always bring. You bring light to every room you enter. Thank you.

Amazing Mixing What a Technic 👍👍🤍
Ah thanks - means a lot coming from you.
Yeah!) Thanks for support ;)
Keep doing your thing sir!
This mix is bangin init! It is impossible to be miserable in the presence of JimniCricket.
You nailed it.
An Amazingly talented and very under-rated lady.
She is such a gem. Also, be sure to watch her mix. Her hands move faster than rabid hamsters and the flow is super thoughtful and fun.
Loved this conversation. Its fun and educational to hear Chris's story. The first time I heard, and met, Black Velveteen was at Innerflight's NY day party in 2021 where she played right before Robag Wruhme. She had the best set of the night for me and I became an instant fan. Her authenticity, presence, and love shine not only when she's "behind the decks" but also when speaking / connecting with her. Given my journey with djing, I feel I hold a pretty high standard. Quite honestly, it takes a lot for me to enjoy listening to a person play for hours. Combining her technical skills with her presence, and track selection, creates a set worth sticking around for. Great combinations of driving and pretty. Def one of my favorite DJs:) Thanks for putting in the time and effort to make these conversations happen Phil! P.S.... Go to Burningman:)
Appreciate you stopping through and I totally agree with with everything you said about Chris - such a cool person and stylistically, "driving and pretty" nails it. She's even sent me down the lollypop headphone rabbit hole. And I'll definitely get to Burningman. I can't not go at this point.
@@seattlehousemafia I haven't been to BM since 2013 but I definitely have pans to come back in the future!
Thanks so much @zachstone6717, so happy we met. I had the opportunity to hear you play and loved it!
Started us off with some of that Filter House Fumk 9:20
fuck yeah!!
She killed it!
I really enjoyed watching the interview and still listen to the CD i bought from her a few years ago when I saw her play here in Los Angeles..
She's the real deal. Wait till her mix drops.
