OMG, this is what I wanted to do but I still want the round wheel, not the yolk. I also have a late 2023 X, and HATED the horn on the side. When I went to ask how much its gonna cost me, they said around $2500. Yikes!! Thanks to your video, it seems easy except for the software update that was needed to make the horn work.

I wonder if this could be retrofitted into the new 2024 Model 3 highland? I think the aftermarket versions don’t look as nice and seem to be a bit wider. I would imagine it could work since they both use same functions on the steering wheel now. May just have to get the airbag with the model S yoke to ensure the airbag fit. Just not sure if it will require a software update from Tesla to get it to work. Since the new model 3 round wheel now looks similar to the model s/x and without stocks, it looks very possible. I would try it but don’t want to spend $1k to find out it doesn’t work.😂

Do you need that little jack pad before you jack up the car?

Just rotated my tires yesterday and did a ceramic coating of the wheels and calipers while the wheels were off. All that's required is one floor jack (Harbor Freight 3 ton) jacking puck, and one torque wrench. Easy.

They need to bring back the thumbs down function so that people don't think that this is how you're supposed to do it. Where do they find "techs" like this. He didn't even use jackstands to hold the car up nor did he choke the wheels. Also that jack that he used is from harbor freight and it's the aluminum one that has a low weight rating. The Tesla is an incredibly heavy vehicle. This guy is taking chances with other people's car. He also did not use a puck like you're supposed to. That black pad on that is on the jack is NOT a puck. That comes attached to that jack when you buy it. The laziness and carelessness of some people. At least it looks like he used a CDI torque wrench but I can guarantee you that someone like this guy that takes no pride in his work will not have it calibrated at least once a year.

Did the Tesla service rep use a puck or lift pad between the jack and the vehicle frame? I just had Tesla mobile service perform a tire rotation and apparently they did not follow owners manual guidelines and put the jack directly on the frame. Now I have scuffs, frame finish paint chips and dents in at all 4 lift points ! Super pissed and now sure how what I can do.

Just wiping your hands is not enough when you are working with raw chicken. Washing your hands with soap and hot water is a must.

Why did he torque the lug nuts while the tires are suspended? Should be done when tires are on the ground.

if tires are directional, can only do swap between front and back.

On 2 separate occasions during the late 90s we ran into a man who seemed to be staying on the property. The first time we had an altercation with him.

I brought a brick home with me from there several years ago. It mysteriously moves from room to room all by itself overnight sometimes. Once, it disappeared for a whole week. I think it went to Vegas to get laid but I'm not 100% sure. I did hook up a Harbor Freight multi meter to it and ask it where it went, I got no response from the meter.

I guess the front to back and vice versa works here since the tires are asymmetrical? Also it’s impossible to crisscross them using 1 or 2 floor jacks.
