At Furnace Run and Bath Rd. in between. It's 6-12-24.
Nice catch Fred.
Thank you.
Funny how that one GP35 that National Limestone and Co. has working for them as a switcher, is actually one of the Wheeling's former Southern Railway units.
I've had the privilege of seeing it in good times and bad.
You’re standing across the way from Luigi’s the best pizza from the area love that place always stop in when I come down from New York State great video Sir
Glad you enjoy it, they've been around for 75 years, and thanks for watching the video.
The defoliant they spray is probably a different mix from once upon a time 😉 Thank You
I one day just might pay a revisit to both Akron and Canton, coming down from Texas sometime while off duty from new road, just strictly to see the good old Wheeling and ABC. Definitely two of the only things I loved about living in Ohio, honestly.
Nice catch of CSX B158.
Thank you.
@@fredstuckmannNo problem.
That’s NS 9619 not 9616
Right you are, thank you.
Thumbs Up! Excellent Video! I like it!
Thank you.
Wow, great catch Fred! Pretty rare to see three YN2's on one train these days.
Right you are, thank you for stopping by.
nice one
Excellent video really enjoyed it keep up the great work
Thank you, sure will try.
Just heard back from the new road and missed more than a few videos completing all my onboarding and all for it. I'm now on with NJT beginning my first few months of engineer training with them very soon this coming August
Wish you well on your new endeavors Jessica.
@@fredstuckmann Thanks 🙂
Nice train video.
Thank you.
@@fredstuckmannNo problem.
it look like it was snowing wow great video
Thank you.
North St.
Yes sir, it's up in the description, thank you.
wow you don.t see a locomotive like that one anymore
They even have a 3rd one they have in the shop presently. Thank you.
a nother great chase
Thank you, while I enjoy main line freight, I worked mostly short jobs during my time on the railroad, so I feel right at home with trains like these.
Awesome shots! My wife and I rode on the George Washington Cooper car on Saturday!
Thank you, I hope it was a good ride for you.
great video love all the switching
Thank you.
Very cool misc. footage there Fred, I enjoyed that! (Dave).
Thank you very much.
@@fredstuckmann Your welcome.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😋 Thank you.
Forests and grass near RR tracks were fast growing in the steam loco era. The carbon dust was good fertilizer.
All that carbon to be turned into greenhouse gas and we wonder why we're in trouble.
It’s great to see the F units together on the South end. I hope they keep this configuration for a while.
Unfortunately, it was only for one day, because 365 is the only other operational unit and it had a failure that night, but it should probably be up and running in service the next couple weeks again
Thank you, as was mentioned, it was one day only.
you should go railfan in sterling ohio
I have, but for the most part, I will see the same trains that come through Akron and only drive 4 miles instead of 30+. I'm one of those fixed income people. 🙂
@@fredstuckmann so it’s about 30 trains a day like Akron?
@@gobrian328 I'd say more like 20, they run more at night, but lately I've caught one in two hours in the morning. The ABC runs transfer runs and stone trains and that's what draws me there.
*He going down hill or around a curve for brakes to be squealing like that???*
Curve, and I think that's flange squeal you are hearing, thank you.
@@fredstuckmann Yep,that's what it is.Wheel flanges against the rail head.
@@rj4590 Thank you.
@@fredstuckmann *Wow... Alwayz assumed there was more "play" between the wheel flanges and the rails*
@@JungleYT When they enter a curve, the wheels lean into the outside of the curve rail, hence the squeal. There is some play, but the play is minimal to keep from dropping inside the gauge.
I'm now going to be working at a new company that's kinda just like the operation of the CVSR very soon. It's called the Austin & Texas Central in an area of the lone star state called Cedar Park. Still residing with my young ones down here in Jersey though, just the same.
Wishing you success, wherever life finds you.
The coal will make markets and comes back amongst America just deal with it and bet on it
I have no problem with coal, grew up with coal heating our house.
Wow! That's keeping the rails shiny. Great to see so much coal.
My grandfather was a coal miner and I will always find a little connection to the man that gave his life to the craft.
The horn kinda sounds just like one of CSX's flared SD70MAC's
Thank you, not fluent in horns, I only know I like the ones on most SD70ACe units.
Nice catch Fred. That was a long one!
Long & Slow. Thank you.
Excellent video! When did they extend 11V west of Conway? I remember when it used to run to Bellevue.
Thank you, I have no idea.
Good video. What is the name of the street you videotaped this at?
Thank you, Sandy Lake Rd.
@fredstuckmann I will definitely check that spot out. I really like that spot in Rootstown. You have a nice parking lot at that business with a good view of the tracks.
Nice video! Have you ever railfanned at night? It’s very busy on NS at night in Ohio
I have, but not that often. Thank you.
@fredstuckmann that seems to be the busiest time
Nice job on the video. 👍
Thank you.
Nice footage here Fred. Great job. Do these activities occur daily, or was this a special presentation? Thank you Fred.
Thank you, this was a special presentation, but they do have events scheduled throughout the year.
Hey Fred, are the Wheeling stone trains back to their monday thru friday runs through Akron like last summer? Or - what days have you been catching them lately. Thanks Fred!!
A very irregular schedule lately, hard to know what's on tap.
Nice 👍👍🚆🚆
Thank you.
Great video!
Thank you.
Awesome video thanks for posting
Welcome, thank you.
Awesome 😎
Thank you.
Definitely looks like a nifty little museum and operation. Did you ever get to catch any of the LA&L on their line that goes through nearby?
No, nothing ran during the 7 hours I was there, thank you.
This is a great video Fred. Nice to see tractors.
Interesting to see 4 engines on a grain train
Especially an empty one. Thank you.
Grain? How do you know? And where does it come from the mid-west? Last, where’s it going?
I see a lot of csx trains going and resting in my town in front of what looks like a normal looking kind of ranch house, why? What’s in that house? Do the conductors rest there? Why is there a need for some kind of bldg not for the public but on the train course way?
@@nancybogle5114 The G in the train symbol is the key. Loads go east and empties go west. This was a westbound hence empty. Considering the BNSF units the train originates west of Chicago, exactly where, I don't know,
@@nancybogle5114 Can't answer any of that. Perhaps someone else on here can fill in the blanks, thanks for coming on board.
Definitely a big fan of that SW1500. If only our number 1596 here on BR&W wasn't stored out of service, we'd probably still be running it with SW9 438 for both passenger and freight service.
Any hope of a resurrection?
@@fredstuckmann None that I've heard but currently we use a Geep in place of it, for freight duties
I feel bad for the crew who happened to get that one: The unlucky four
Why is it unlucky?
@@fredstuckmann All 4's is usually a bad sign superstition wise
@@jessicaburdell7779 Unless you have 4 Aces. 😂
@@fredstuckmann Lol. Yep 😁
I went to railfan in Hudson tonight. I couldn’t find the spot you mentioned so I sat in the parking lot of the FedEx store and the Farmers National Bank. Saw a couple trains headed east. 32N and 258. Have you ever sat at this spot? Have a good night!
On the opposite side of SR91 just south of the bridge is a gravel driveway uphill to the tracks. You can also access it from SR303 between the bridges at the storage place. When you enter there just keep bearing to the left. When the building to your left ends, you will see the tracks.
Cool Union Pacific power
Thank you.
That's L321.
Thank you.
Outstanding! I've never seen an SW1500 step out like that. Excellent recording, too; no traffic, no horn, just a 645 V-12 chanting at speed.
Thank you. The speed limit on the CSX right there is 55. If you want to keep getting the track for your moves, you hustle. 🙂
