      These trucks don't tend to have a very long run time, as they are toy grade. But charging should not take any longer than 30mins to 2 hours at max. I think they have a light on the truck somewhere that should go out when they are charged.

      @How-To-RC Год назад

      Yeah you are right. The TT02b does sit a lot lower, even with the heights adjusted. It all comes down to preference. I prefer the tt02b as the vehicle feels more stable, being that it is a 4wd, where as the dt02 is rear wheel drive meaning you have to compensate a lot on the steering as well as maintain a constant speed to prevent spinning out 😊

      Tyres are usually mounted to the rims with glue so they are not really intended to come off. How ever... you can in fact cut them off and re purpose the rims with healthier tyres 😊 i tried the acetone trick on tamiya one once and the result was not good. If you are able to find out what the rustler rims are made of, you might be able to seperate the tyres from the rims that way

    Why do my shocks not rebound. If I push the piston in it just stays where it is. Should shocks rebound without the spring?

    • @How-To-RC
      @How-To-RC Год назад

      It is usually due there not being an air pocket at the top of your piston sleeve. When you rebuild a shock you want to fill the sleeve to sbout 5mm below the top. This creates an air pocket and causes the piston to return to where the rebound was set. If the piston does not rebound. There are a few things that could be causing the problem. The main issue being a possible leak from the o ring sleeves. If this were the case your shocks may need to be rebuilt like in this video. If that is not the issue another cause could be a bent piston rod presenting the shock from rebounding due to binding. If that is also not the case, then my last guess, if the vehicle is new. The shocks may have not been filled before the rc vehicle left the factory. In which case, just do a rebuild of the shocks and you will be sweet 😄

    I love the sand viper! I contacted tamiya about the dt02 ms springs and they told me that the sand viper front springs are the same as the Ms version. The rear springs are the red springs from the dt02 spring set. Tamiya no longer sells the white springs but assured me that these are the same springs. Interestingly the red rear springs are softer than the silver springs that come with the kit, but they are taller. And strange as it may be they can take higher jumps without bottoming out. I ended up using the stock cvas over the aluminum damper upgrade as I could not tell the difference. I did a few cool tricks though. I used the trf 3 hole piston in the front cvas and the one hole black piston in the rear. The black piston is not a tight seal inside the cva but oddly it performs just like a trf 3 hole piston also. I used 40wt associated oil. The kit comes with two long eyelets meant for the rear. I bought two more to make the front cvas longer and moved them to the inner most mounting hole in the front. Lastly I removed the bottom o ring and replaced it with a trf damper guide. Super smooth performance and 100% mimics the original dt02 ms aluminum damper setup! Just thought I would share this and it took quite a bit of work to figure this out.

      Wow! Thats a lot of useful info. I am going to save this for future tweaks to my vehicles 😁 i currently have to of the dt02 chassis. I just built one of these. What is a good starting point for the cva dampers? The front springs are so stiff and the rear is so soft. I built it just as the manual suggested. Thanks!

    • @How-To-RC
      @How-To-RC 2 года назад

      I had the same issue with mine. There is a chance though that there might be air bubbles trapped in the front shocks. Although less is unlikely if both are stiff. In any case. If that was the issue you just need to bleed the air put of them. Just remove them from the chassis and unscrew the shock caps, slide the piston up and down a few times and see if any air escapes from the shock oil. Them rest set you piton to your desired rebound height 😊 if that does not change anything. Try removing the spring tension vlips on the front of the buggy if any are installed

      @@How-To-RC thanks. I was swapping out the one piece plunger in the ccas for piston rods, c clips, and the one hole plunger. Swapped out the black o rings for the red ones, I filled it with new yellow oil. No air bubbles this time. I tried the different mounting positions for the shock then noticed what you had in the video. Rear middle setting and front inner most setting. WOW what a difference. It’s as if the rear has to be in the middle setting or it’s not happy. Outer or inner settings make the rear damper stay flex. Middle doesn’t. Thanks for all your help. I knew it had to be something simple.

    Thanks for the video and hope you are doing well. I have one Question about the aluminum propeller shaft. did you get the shaft only? it looks like you are using the stock propeller joints. If so i will probably skip out on them also. I'm all about function over fashion and your car looks great. i just ordered the same version of the tt02b and have bearings on hand. I plan on using a superstock BZ since amazon is selling them for 28 bucks (Thats cheap). I have a BZX in my DT03 and swapped the bushings for bearings and it made a huge difference.

    • @How-To-RC
      @How-To-RC 2 года назад

      Hey man. Cheers for checking out my video 😄 yeah i opted to only use the alloy prop as i didn't see the need for the flashy pivot cups. In my opinion the stock ones work just fine. I suppose the stock ones might provide a bit of friction, but the effect is so minor you hardly notice it. Bearings however are a must in terms of upgrades, bush friction is definitely something you want to be rid of 😁 the BZ motor should give you some crazy offroad power. Might i suggest getting the tamiya high speed gear set as well. The change in the gear ratio draws out more power from the motor and gives the buggy more speed over jumps
