They ultimately overused the Borg. They should have remained a mysterious mega threat. Not villains of the week like on Voyager. I still remember this episode actually scaring a 14-year od me just a bit.

7, 000 light years at maximum warp: assuming the nearest starbase was close to where they went from, 2 years 7 months 3 days 18 hours per 7,000 might years is approximately 8 light years a day. It'd take a little over half a day for the Enterprise D to at maximum warp to get from Earth to Alpha centuri the closest star system to Earth. TBH...I'm not impressed that's like only twice as fast as the Enterprise A.

Back when the borg were terrifying. They kind of ruined them when they had a queen. The borg being an actual collective was terrifying. No leader no real weakness.

I could see the design of the Borg ship completely sensible in its design. In space, it doesn't matter whether its a Star Destroyer nor a shoe box. Either will fly equally well. And from a human standpoint? The Borg ship would actually be a solid design for an extremely long range "generational" vehicle. It's sides can be populated from top to bottom, in fact? It would benefit from having low gravity at the center axis, allowing for ease of travel to each "side" of the cube. And by its dimensions? It could hold a substantial long term population and food and areas for trees and oxygen bearing plants. As for its speed? Assuming we do not develop FTL travel? This ship could be "coasted" at 1g of acceleration for a year to achieve a solid fraction of C, or light speed. Perhaps as high as 80 to 90% of C. With that? Alpha Centauri becomes about a 5 year journey (1 to 2 years shipboard time due to time dilation.) And for longer missions? Perhaps a century or more out? 20 to 30 years ship time. So kudos to designing a phenomenal, yet simple starship.

Something that never makes sense here.....Picard becomes Locutus.....and yet, Guinan is still friends after the whole incident when he goes back in Time's Arrow and meets her? "He" killed her people in theory

One little tidbit I like is that, when Riker tells his Klingon escort that he is a commander, the soldier straightens almost like he is at attention. Perhaps as a way of showing a little more respect for Riker as an officer

The Borg were already in Federation space being behind the outposts, Q and his fragile ego was so offended when Picard said they don't need his help he just accelerated the inevitable.

So if Picard would have just turned around and high tailed it back to the starbase NONE of this would have happened. But NOOOOOOOOO..he was compelled! See how that worked out for him.
