I'm a generally liberal Utahn, I'm concerned with Trump's absolutist measures, I don't mind the general ideas of cracking down on imprisoned, undocumented people in America, and those people who don't work or try, but I am afraid of some call to arms of a mass deportation and possibly as a result some/many good Utahns being harrassed by what could be an overcorrection by lawmakers.
Very interesting!
UDOT will do anything but expand public transit
Short term rentals are a distraction from the real problems, suburban sprawl, NIMBYism, and our lack of housing supply :P
And you can enforce ordinances even with the legislature’s restrictions (I can explain how it’s done). This guy hasn’t done his homework…
Housing stock is an issue no doubt but research should look broadly at the causes and not just focus on a single hot button symptom (like STRs). I really like City Cast SLC. and wish you would demand better, more balanced reporting and research that tells the whole story. What about the fact that 2008 dramatically reduced new builds, zoning limitations , ADU restrictions, empty 2nd homes and so many other issues (including but beyond just STRs)? The NYT just did a story on the housing crisis….very comprehensive and balanced and suggest anyone who is truly interested in this topic listen to it. This is the research version of clickbait.
Also, why is the recommended solution to build more hotels and put more money into corporate coffers instead of allowing individual homeowners to make some money and offset the high cost of living?
All of this "upspeak" (making every sentence sound like a question by raising the pitch of the last word) from Terina.....maybe try to get out of that habit? All that it does is make one sound unsure of what one is saying. Otherwise, thanks for a great podcast!
I never saw pharmaceutical companies as caring about saving lives. They only care about profits. Think opioids they just set out to sell drugs.

I wanted to apply for the ebike voucher. But I didn't think I'd be able to afford it, even after the credit.
It will be just like 99 West. Much it will remain unoccupied because, like many of these so-called "luxury" residential high rises going up worldwide, this Astra tower's primary purpose is as a way for wealthy individuals to hide their assets through the purchase of real estate.
I read both the victim and Honie were Indigenous- was there any input from the tribal courts?
Tribal courts had no jurisdiction because the crime did not occur on a reservation, plus the victims were from different tribes.
@@finlanddoesnotexist92 oh, cool, thank you! the articles i read said they were both from the same reservation
Glad to hear the Rio Grande Plan mentioned. We need it so bad!!!
Homelessness needs to be treated like healthcare. These people are sick and need our help. If we can all pitch in $10-20 a month through taxes we can find solutions.
How about let parents be parents holy shit
Me encantan
This is pretty ridiculous honestly. We do need more policing. Socioeconomic diversity in all neighborhoods is great. Camping, drugs, defecation and urination, and disgusting park restrooms is unacceptable.
This is Lauren's favorite podcast 😂
For the record… I despise her
Totally useless

These quotes are meant to keep us LDS women plaquated. I still hear "I dont want the priesthood its to much responsibility". Again, I think that this is training rather than reality. Women have to make the real decisions every day but within the church, my ex who was sleeping with men, had very high callings, and still according to the church, still had more authority then I did. Im 53 and have always been active but it was crazy how little power I had but yet I was left with full responsibility. I"d love to be interviewed. It"s truly insane.
Need to see Dan McClellan's segments on woman on the bible (including Phoebe (a possible deacon) Junia (a possible apostle)). The LDS church in Australia needs more balance too. Its time our leaders get more decent revelations. Not good enough from the top (not Jesus, but prophet down). If you're meant to be priestesses, then you need a priesthood too. While on a trip to Samoa a few years ago (my group all became sick), then I had a vision of a thin Samoan woman with a similar feel to christ, i was the only one, and I was the only one whom got well (and immediately felt better) that trip. 'She' healed me. And I think it's time women got to give blessings too.
Im a huge Laufey fan and can’t wait to see her and get vip tickets, do you have any suggestions to get as close up as possible? Thanks guys!
Great feature on billboards in SLC and Utah! You nailed it: they're antiquated (they're like the yellow pages of our roads!), they kill property values, they're ugly and distracting, they hinder or stop re/development, and their rich and powerful owners peddle huge influence in exchange for rights and privileges that no other property owners enjoy. I hope every SLC billboard advertiser heard this podcast and switches to advertising here instead!
Fact Women are half of the population and have birthed all of the population. Women's voices are as valid as men's and they do belong in the rooms where decisions are being made. Yet the power dynamic within the church is not now and hasn't ever been reflective of this reality. It has been a distorted reality where the authoritarian in charge has propogandized itself so successfully, women believed they did control their lives. Be the change!
Either you believe the Church or you don't. Don't B-itch. Quit. Give me a break. I don't fit the "MOLD". That doesn't change the Truth of the Church Authority on earth. "In my Father's house are many mansions". Go find the Mansion that fits; then, live happy instead of Crying and Complaining.
Yes, that’s it! Don’t whine bc you don’t “fit in”. The Church is true, regardless, so become more active. There are always more opportunities than there are members willing to serve. I’m a 73 yr old widower, and had a very active and well liked Wife who died 3 years ago. Afterwards, I felt like I was no longer really alive, I felt hollow. I also felt like I was no longer useful in my Ward. I was on the fringe, and disliked it intensely. I also had some medical issues to overcome, not to mention feeling sad, day in & day out, but trying to appear happy so everyone I know wouldn’t worry about me. I don’t need a pity party. So I started going to a gym 3-4 x a week. I started helping the full time missionaries. I got involved where and when I could. I even started going out to dine with a woman my Wife served with, and liked and admired, who is my age and unattached. Things are much better now, not perfect, but I’m no longer sad all the time, bc of missing my wife. So, “lengthen your stride”.
Freedom of speech
A man who saw the Light. In my silly opinion, the Bible, Bom, D&C etc, boil down to something so very simple and special. They are a road map to Brain Health and a Good, Christ Like quality of life. Explanation. Science now knows wealth and Power changes the Brain and specifically, humanity is lost. Observe it and the message is Clear. The Bible, BoM, D&C etc. make us like God and Christ. The Scriptures program our brain to be eternal like our Father and Christ. Power, Money, and influence make us like, Putin, Jinping, and nearly every country leader in the world today. Also, most Judges, Police, etc.. Sorry for the so very blatant about the facts, but, the gospel, is wonderful, and I have never met a policeman, judge, or person in power I really liked. My uncle was a Cop. The whole family eventually didn't like him. Every ROTTEN president of the USA survived. Every Good President was murdered. Think about this carefully before disagreeing. One example. Reagan was a very liked president. VERY VERY liked. Reagan put in most of the bills in place that resulted is shush a huge transfer of wealth to a hand full of Americans.
But what if God is just imaginary?😂
@@jeffsaxton716 You have a good point. However, I am writing 2 books. I can prove to and ABSOLUTE, that evolution was and is impossible. I can also prove Einstein wrong about the Big Bang, and Gravity. This does not prove God, however, if it isn't God, then some hand was involved. Additionally, over the course of humanity on earth, the definition of God has varied considerably over the millennia. Of note, many are hurt by Putin, Hitler Jim Jung UN, etc.. . People who believe in God are generally nice people. It doesn't hurt to believe in a God. Only 1 church out there can be the true that is authorized. All the others are fakes.
How did this video get in my feed. Vomit.
62 and 42 years as convert. Look to Single moms. It is horrible. The members shun those of us on the fringe. If you dont fit the mold you are not accepted by both men and other women.
I am sorry that has been your experience. I am single, and I have never felt that kind of exclusion, I am a convert who didn't even know if there was a God. Each of us need to take responsibility to get involved
😢
We [ brethren and men ] NEED women in our church. I cannot say in what position you women need to be utilized, beside what is instituted thus far? But this is a realm of God as far as I am concerned for your answer?
At the outset the person being interviewed is wrong. Women are an integral part of councils throughout the church.
The reason they don’t “change 101 things” is because really old men run the church and are still living decades in the past. God is only able to advance the church as fast as the old men passing away.
Interesting! And, those old men are replaced by (nearly) equally aging old guys who are lap dogs (i.e., who lap up the pablum that their nonagenarian counterparts continue to regurgitate and drool out). Hence, a never-ending supply of drool.😮
This country as well.
I've got 35 different "Christian" churches within a 5 mile radius of my house. It's hard to take religion seriously with so much division.
They have the common theme of worshipping the lord to the best of their understanding.
The lord is going to accept his own.into his kingdom....Many preaching here am I, I am the lords. (New Testament | Ephesians 4:4 - 5) There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism. As in olden days so in our days, missionaries are preaching in his name...SEEK and they will find you eventually.
Every single church clams to be the truth church! But is not how it’s working. LDS church says that in order to prove his point we have to asked God and have a felling, but for sure it doesn’t work! Because felling changes every time for knowing the God church we need to study and read historical books and we going to found the truth. I was raised LDS and finally I discovered that unfortunately everything that I was believed my whole life was false. It was frustrating and devastating. But one I found the truth it was impossible to live a fake life. And here I am free from Mormonism chains.
Joseph smith used a rock in a hat to read the golden plates. Those plates were either not in the room or were nearby covered with a clothe. Just wanted to leave the first comment.
Yep. He sure did. It’s called a “Urim and Thummim”, or “seeing stones”. Joseph Smith using such sacred items to translate the golden plates this way is fascinating in that he didn’t even need them in the room to be able to see them by the power of God. God allowed Joseph to see the plates by looking at the stones in the hat, which was needed to block the sunlight coming into the room from the windows so that he could see the plates clearly and translate them to Oliver Cowdery, who acted as his scribe. This only happened a few times to keep the plates safe, as the majority of the translation took place with Joseph actually reading from the plates with the scribes in the room with him. The Book or Mormon only took about 60-70 days to be translated by the power of God.

I wondered where the stupid stanley cup cult came from. I should have known…….damn
Steve down and Micheal Mchenry were the reason it all went down. The financial decisions that Michael made and Steve Allowed were the worst. I mean Michael had to have a Nike life Coach they paid 500k, a personal assistant they paid 70k plus bonus. Duded only cares about himself and fake celebrity. They put a ton of money into a bunch of strange projects- Pop up truck that was never build correctly. 3000SQ spots in Az with no sales or direction. Financially, the company never had a true leader or direction.
Well done!
Oh! Nice discovery for me today! Good work… thank you for extra info. ( I lived in Ethiopia for two years teaching at the embassy school. ) 💪🙏🥴😈🤬❤️ I learned so much about the cons and deception in the field of charities.
Thoughts on an episode about Utah missing out on FRA funding for intercity trains?

You open with a commercial, then you make another pitch in your lead section. Too much pitch. Your charm is your headline open. Pitch later. You have a nice program!
How gullible are mormons..paul h.dunne was another ex hero who lied and conned people for years He was adored by leaders and members...now they still cant believe tim ballard is not a hero..sad
So much more things to attack ones character in America right now,, so why now, what do you have to gain by doing ? What’s the motive? No way this man has done anything but a amazing job at simply being a caring compassionate human being! So what if one makes money doing such a life changing things for these precious lives! And discrediting the good one does because they don’t have it worked out from start to finish?? How about your group doing that?? Once their saved your group take the second half of this highly terrible problem! And does it matter what color the skin if a child needs rescuing! You need to take all this negative and use to positive! This is sad and wasted time energy that can be used better than what your using it!!
Clueless.
Church leadership relies on hero worship. Also, the real scandal, outside Ballard's salacious sexual habits? FREAKISH MORMON reliance on "psychic" (i.e. FRAUD) investigator.
I’m afraid that Glenn Beck and Tim Ballard created an industry that became an entire animal. Taking resources away from better organizations that truly help the world in ways that don’t require all this ridiculousness
THANK YOU! I have wondered why we haven’t been talking more about the White Savior mentality. The story seems to be about the way Tim is such a grifter. Nobody is asking themselves why Americans are looking down at other cultures. And let’s not forget Glen Beck; a longtime political activist
I would like more reporting on M. Russell Ballard's lack of discernment, how much Melvin Ballard invested with Tim, and how many people Melvin Ballard pressured to invest with Tim.
I enjoyed this analysis!😊 OUR appears to be a $100M affinity fraud, not a legitimate non-profit org.
