These quotes are meant to keep us LDS women plaquated. I still hear "I dont want the priesthood its to much responsibility". Again, I think that this is training rather than reality. Women have to make the real decisions every day but within the church, my ex who was sleeping with men, had very high callings, and still according to the church, still had more authority then I did. Im 53 and have always been active but it was crazy how little power I had but yet I was left with full responsibility. I"d love to be interviewed. It"s truly insane.

Need to see Dan McClellan's segments on woman on the bible (including Phoebe (a possible deacon) Junia (a possible apostle)). The LDS church in Australia needs more balance too. Its time our leaders get more decent revelations. Not good enough from the top (not Jesus, but prophet down). If you're meant to be priestesses, then you need a priesthood too. While on a trip to Samoa a few years ago (my group all became sick), then I had a vision of a thin Samoan woman with a similar feel to christ, i was the only one, and I was the only one whom got well (and immediately felt better) that trip. 'She' healed me. And I think it's time women got to give blessings too.

Great feature on billboards in SLC and Utah! You nailed it: they're antiquated (they're like the yellow pages of our roads!), they kill property values, they're ugly and distracting, they hinder or stop re/development, and their rich and powerful owners peddle huge influence in exchange for rights and privileges that no other property owners enjoy. I hope every SLC billboard advertiser heard this podcast and switches to advertising here instead!

Fact Women are half of the population and have birthed all of the population. Women's voices are as valid as men's and they do belong in the rooms where decisions are being made. I think as well as South west England having an influence on the Utah accent so did the north west of England particularly Lancashire where the Latter-day Saint Missionaries first arrived in 1837 and had their first overseas baptisms there . The Lancashire accent is like mentioned about Utah a very sing songy accent in its tone and up and down inflections. Also in East Lancashire in towns like Blackburn , Burnley and Rawtenstall they burr their Rs similar to the south west of England. In fact I think the East Lancashire folk are the only Northern English accent where they burr their Rs .

The first several years that they were open, the employees at the sugarhouse store should make bag lunches and deliver them to shelters and group homes. They really were donating food in a much more “hands on” fashion than you describe. They were not the same sandwiches that they made to sell in the restaurant- more basic. The sandwiches were $8-9 for several years. I don’t think that the prices started creeping up until after their expansion fiasco and the quality of the food slowly started to degrade when both took a JUMP last year (2022). Their real problems started showing up around November and I was really surprised that they managed to last until March 2023. Was very sorry to see them go.
