Disclaimer :- I would not normally use bait to photograph wild birds although I do feed my garden birds. I had a pack of two out of date chicken breasts that were to be recycled in my waste bin but decided to use them to feed a family of Ravens. It was a one off event and they were taken within minutes.

Stunning shots of the Kingfisher! Thanks for sharing😊
Thank you very much for the kind comment 😀
Observation videos of birds in nature are interesting.
I also use a Canon R7. Very good camera for the money.
Yes it is a really good camera and definitely worth the money 😀
I really enjoyed your video. It has such a peaceful and relaxing vibe, beautifully connected to nature. 💚 You got my subscription! 👍
Thank-you very much for your lovely kind comment I missed seeing this earlier but I also subscribed to your channel earlier as well 😀
Awesome so lovely capture
Thank you very much 😀
I'm a new subscriber here from Singapore. Amazing Kingfisher and Raven observation footage. Thanks for sharing. 1 LIKE for your video!!! Happy birding!!! 👍🔔
@@CheikoSairin Thank you very much your comment is greatly appreciated and happy birding to you also 😀
I don't think I've ever seen Kingfishers AND Ravens filmed and photographed quite so beautifully! You have a new subscriber my friend.
Thanks that is a really nice comment I will also have a look at your channel and give you an add 👍😀
The images of the jewel-like kingfishers are inspiring, and the slow motion that captured Raven is superb.👍
Thank you so much I am glad you enjoyed watching 😀
Stunning close-ups of wildlife. Great collection of photos.👍
Thank you so much for looking and commenting 😃
Great video with beautiful shots of wildlife.🦊🦌👍
Thank you very much for your kind comment 😀
Beautiful as always great video, puts our local nature reserve to shame overgrown and looking messy that one looks well maintained
Thanks Stephen for your kind comment😀The reserve really is a special place and heavily reliant on the Volunteers who do a fantastic job looking after it.
@@craignicoll001 yes our reserves rely on volunteers, but unfortunately management don’t respect or recognise what the volunteers do so a lot don’t stay for long.
Those reeds have really shot up Craig. Fantastic images of that Raven. It seemed surprisingly relaxed, I would have thought it would have taken that food and been off.
I had two chicken breasts each on a post the first was gone before I even had time to zip the hide back up I just seen it disappearing into the distance. The second went a few minutes later I shot in slow-motion otherwise the clip would have just been a few seconds long lol. The reeds were pretty obtrusive you have to get creative with your angles to get a clean shot 😀
Lovely I haven't been able to get close enough recently so nice to see 👍
Thank you very much always surprised by how big these birds are 😀
Beautiful video - stunning footage of the Kingfisher , what a gorgeous little bird 😍. Loving the Raven having a feed aswell. Love it 😍
Excellent dude.
Cheers Simon thank you very much glad you enjoyed my video 😀
Amazing beautiful view
Thank you very much I am glad you enjoyed watching 😀
That looked a beautiful morning Craig. I particularly liked the sequence of the rabbit running towards you and then posing like a pro for the subsequent stills. 👌 I also really liked the young rabbit in the 'mush' at 19:35. All the best.
Cheers Rob it was a pretty good day if a wee bit breezy at times. Always surprised by how much wildlife can be seen out here early morning Rabbits make it look like Watership Down 😃
Another cracker 😊. Such a stunning stretch of coastline captured beautifully. Love hearing all the sounds of the birds. Looking forward to getting back to my camerawoman hobble lol 😃 - this video has made me realise how much I miss it.
Cheers Mand I definitely missed someone for the B-roll 😛
Great film Craig a lovely sunrise and superb video clips and stills a really great edit well done ❤ regards Dave👍
Cheers Dave it was a really early start but well worth it probably the most footage and stills that I have taken in a long time 😃
Now that's the way to gut more subs (self incl.) So glad I have expensive high end HDR10+ massive viewing equipt. to marvel at your excellent work...!

Amazing 😍😍😍 Beautiful ❤️
Thank you for looking 😀
Nice and beautiful video. Thanks for sharing & big like
Thank you very much I am glad you enjoyed the video 😀
Great vid really liked your pics, I am going in a few weeks for the first time, could you advise me on what clothing to take, is there any particular part I must go to, will a 150-600mm and a 70-200mm be adequate or should I take different lenses???? I really appreciate any advice
Thank you glad you enjoyed my video 😀 Clothing will depend on the day l would definitely take a packable rain jacket as weather can easily change and good walking boots as paths can be rugged in parts. I personally would go with the 150-600mm as plenty of reach for smaller birds and Short Eared Owls if you’re lucky. Due to congestion they want you to walk around in an anticlockwise direction so you will pass all the good spots for Puffins such as the Wick and High Cliff but you will see plenty at North Haven as soon as you climb the steps after leaving the boat. I wouldn’t bother taking a tripod as very few places it could be used without getting in peoples way. Hopefully the weather will be kind and you have a great trip and come away with plenty of cracking images 😀
@@craignicoll001 Thank you for your advice its appreciated
Nice pix. I’m there 2nd week June.
That will be a really good week to be there as Puffins will be very busy feeding the Pufflings so plenty of opportunity for pics with Puffins with mouthfuls of Sandeels 😀
@@craignicoll001 Exactly why I chose it. Last year I went at end of April.
So beautiful area there and great pictures from you, thanks for sharing dear. All the best. Have a great day and see you soon again. Many Greetings from Germany ♥ Like 48
Thank you very much for the kind words its definitely a great place to visit 😀
@4:38 which part of the island is that please? I didn't recognise it. Lovey video and looks like you had a really productive day :)
It’s a place called High Cliff overlooking South Haven a really good spot to catch Puffins in flight as you can track them from a good distance they are still very quick though 😀
Cracking White Throat shot 👌
Thank you we were just about to sit down on the bench at the back of the farm to have something to drink when we spotted it right by us 😀
Great photos! Thanks for sharing. Looks like you had a peaceful and beautiful time!
Thank you for your kind comment it was a great day and I am so lucky to have places like this on my doorstep 😀
@@craignicoll001 Yes indeed! I am making the trip up in the summer for a first time visit to Skomer!
@@stef_wildWith your passion for wildlife l am sure you will have a fantastic trip and will capture loads of brilliant footage of the amazing wildlife 😀
Brilliant Craig from start to finish well done and the soundtrack was perfect great b roll Mandy i presume loved this film ❤ regards Dave
Cheer’s Dave it was a good trip and Mandy is really enjoying being the B-Roll person 😀
Your imagery just gets better and better another great video 👍.
Thank you very much Stephen that is a very kind comment I really appreciate it 😀
Hello both. I'm booked onto a day trip later in June. Hopefully I'll actually get there this year. I seem to be a bit unlucky when it comes to Skomer as I've missed several trips to being ill at the wrong time. Last year I was due to have a two night stay over but in the end had to give up the trip to a colleague.....bummer. Fingers crossed this year....
Yes hopefully you will get there this year and June is a great time to visit plenty of Puffins returning with mouthfuls of Sandeels. Overnight would have been awesome the best light and pretty much the island to yourself that was a bummer not getting to go so fingers crossed the day trip goes to plan 😀
😍😍😍 love it !!! Beautiful shots of the Puffins , always so lovely to see them. I’d forgotten how stunning Skomer looks at this time of year with all the Bluebells and Pink Campion. Mr. Stonechat was very accommodating 😊. What a day !!!
Beautiful place we love it. Big Like 💚
Thank you very much I am glad you liked it 😀
Brilliant - what cracking footage of the Dippers , could have watched them all day ❤. Nice bonus seeing the Grey Wagtail on the way back. An absolutely stunning place , loved it there. Thank you for the acknowledgment 😜 ❤
😁
Great little video Craig. I particularly liked the image of the dipper on the bridge, a view that you never normally see. Glad to see that Mandy has been fully promoted to 2nd cameraman and making such a good job of the b roll. Be careful though, she'll be wanting paying next....and then it'll be directing and who knows where from there 😁😁😁😁. Take care and all the best to you both.
Too late there is already plenty of direction and directives lol I will draw a line at her suggestion that I need make-up before going on camera 😁 Hope you are also keeping well and that we can have a meet up soon 😀
Excellent as always loved the b roll it made it feel like I was following you on your journey to photograph.
Thank you Stephen it kind of did tell a story rather than just a bish bash of images and footage strung together I am glad you enjoyed it 😀
@@craignicoll001 I never think of your videos of being a bish bash of images, they always tell a story look forward to the next one
@@StephenBrian Very kind Stephen thank you 😀
Tell Mandy she did a great job with the B roll footage it really made that film ❤
Cheers Dave she said she enjoyed doing it 😀
That was a brilliant film Craig loved the edit the dipper video and stills were a credit to you well done regards Dave👍👍
Thank you Dave it was one occasion when the wildlife decided to cooperate for a change 😄
This footage is incredible 😱😱😱
What fantastic weather you had! Love the commentary from Mandy too ❤
It was a really nice day and Mandy was videoing me but didn’t realise I was also videoing her lol 😂
That looks a great place to visit Craig nice day for it little egret image was really good and the fox Good luck with what you capture this year looking forward to seeing what you capture regards Dave❤

Great video - especially some of the B roll footage 😜. Was a brilliant day , loved it 🥰
Was a great day out 😀
A very relaxing reserve nice music too 👍
Thank you it is a great place to visit 😀
You picked a beautiful day for it Craig. Lovely shot of that fox. It looked in superb condition. I really liked the LTT image as well. I hope you and Amanda are both well. All the best.
Cheers Rob it was a good day first visit to Teifi in a long time. We are both well and assistant Camera Woman Mand provided plenty of B-roll for the video. Hope you are keeping well also 😀
Great photos of the egret, fox, roe deer and longtailed tit. Greets Stefan
Thank-you very much Stefan it was a good day the Deer is actually a Red Deer Hind the Marshes have a small herd of wild Red Deer and Sika Deer and they are very elusive I just got very lucky 😀
Nice video
Thank you very much glad you enjoyed watching it 😀
Ah wow this is wonderful footage! Beautiful video! Subscribed 😊
Thank you very much it’s very kind of you to say so 😀
Superb imagery as always we have no chance of getting that close to a heron here they just fly off 😀
Thank you Stephen normally they are quite skittish but this one was pretty bold 😀
Great clips of the otter eating Craig. No shortage of water in the lakes now.
Thank you Rob water has gone down a wee bit and path was passable without wellies for a change. The Otters were showing well I seen one by the eight arch and this one down towards Broadhaven South feasting on Toads only a few metres away and oblivious to people walking past and another was spotted nearer to Bosherston 😀
