That is true that we become part of the Church Universal. But we are talking about the importance of a local community of believers that we all need to continue to grow in our relationship with God. Loving the interaction btw and thanks for your opinion. I would agree that kids tend to listen to their friends over their parents a lot . I'm going to be fair and add to my statement. I would add that parents have the most POTENTIAL to be the most influential person in their child’s life when it comes to life long values and beliefs, not just random choices hear and their. But when it comes to life long development of a child, them becoming who they are, involved and loving parents who are active in their child’s life will win that battle over a friend all day. I have been working with teens and their families for over 15 years and have seen that to be true many times. I have seen evidence of God many times in my life. He speaks in many different ways; through the Bible, other people and even directly to my soul/mind. Can’t say that I have ever her an audible voice though, but I usually know when He is speaking to me. If you have never experienced Him in this way then this is going to be hard to understand, and it might even sound a little crazy i’ll admit that 🤷🏾‍♂️. We wouldn’t disagree with that thought. The snippet is speaking to the lack of responsibility some parents take with discipleship. Instead of it being a community or group project they choose to forgo their own responsibility and what they bring to the group which is actually more influential than just letting someone else do the work. It definitely takes the community. We were created for community and grow best in the environment of the body of Christ but we also have been called to train up/disciple/lead our kids in the way of truth. We can’t just neglect that and expect someone else to do it. Thats just a little clarity since this is just a short but thanks for commenting brother. Totally agree. ~ Raph

Yes, community is very important in the life of a child and we agree that it takes community to help a child be well rounded. But at the end of the day a present parent has more influence over their own child than any one person in the community based off proximity and time spent with that child. Reading Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Acts in the Bible can give you a good idea of where and why Christianity is what it is. Jesus the Christ is the reason Christians are called CHRISTians.
