This was another film. I think it was 'Le silence de la mer'. I did not understand that scene with the geraniums either.

les géranium à la fenêtre sont dans un film très beau aussi "Le silence de la mer" . Le géranium est un signe de reconnaissance des résistants de ce village (quand ils se réunissaient). Ces deux films se ressemblent beaucoup ! l'officier allemand (Thomas Jouannet) est encore plus beau (à mon goût !) .

je trouve que c'est un film très humain , romantique, tout en finesse. Mais on peut imaginer une autre fin ( celle du film est inventée), car le livre a été écrit en 1941 et que la pauvre écrivaine n'a pas pu terminer son livre , elle est morte à Auschwitz en Août 1942 ! moi aussi j'imagine que Bruno et Lucille se retrouveront après la guerre ...

It was very dangerous to speak out against the system. They sent you in war and if you didn't go they killed you directly. Please don't judge people so fast just by their nationality. Germans are in general honest and calm people - sure there are evil exceptions.

Great movie. WW2 . Story-line making the way to events that happened when German troops enters France. Main characters touched by perfection in performance.

What about Jewish crimes against Germans before Adolf?
