“Spray it how you want it to look”, the saying that rings true in paint. Spraying “more coats” while making them drier, is going to make more finish work for you at the end. Lay it on, all the material to work they way it was designed to. Let it flow out so that you have to spend less time sanding/polishing to achieve a glassy smooth finish.

You should have test spray outs to fine tune your gun settings, those should be used to determine how many mils of material (DRY) you’re putting on. 1 quart will make 1/2 gallon sprayable. A quart is 25% of a gallon.

Always liked this color, but $26K and having Ford representative deliver it and be on-site when it's sprayed was a little too much for me

Ford doesn't have the patent on that color and most automotive paint stores can mix this paint I went to a national coating and supply store I got a half gallon of the basf RM diamont paint and the dark grey sealer that's it's supposed to be sprayed on top of with reducer and hardener for around 2400 bucks in Greenville sc I'm currently getting my 91 foxbody coupe painted with this color
@Backwoods_870 the mystic color in 1996 had those toners but the 04 mystichrome was different and didn't use those same toners far as I know
It most certainly did not happen, no company in the history of the world has made reps travel to body shops in order to deliver & watch it be sprayed. We have a full history on Mystichrome from 1996 through today, where someone paid $100k to be the only FACTORY PAINTED Ford GT painted in Mystichrome
