How to change a clutch pedal on a vw mk4 1.8 turbo
In the Haynes manual it literally says. Make thos tool for the spring retainer. Can't imagine who could do that and even then it doesn't give dimensions so zip ties are the way for this
how
I saw someone use a zip tie for the spring to get it into place then cut it off after its in place
Like the honda too
That skyline and z😍😍😍😍😍😍
how did you take the mid air vents out?
The amount of times ive tried looking for a video and nothings come up😂 cheers mate youve sorted me reyt out🫡
Great video man and you are right it is a bitch and I am pissed off
Thanks mate! Cheers 👊🏼
Thanks dude. Helped alot. 2.3 v5 here,
Much appreciated mate. Already spend a day doing this. Absolute nightmare!
how did you get your headlight lens to glow, not light up but glow?
Best way to replace the spring at the back compress it with cable ties and then put it in
Loves this guys vid
Thanks brother! I took almost all the trim off and sprayed it red to match the interior lights and all that... Looks sick!! thanks my man
how did you take the mid air vents out? I cant seem to get it out the damn hole as seems to be too big for the hole. And also you took the face of the vent off by itself how did u do that?
did you manage to remove the mid air vent?
@@eldynnnn yes i Did. u remove the round plastic trim around it then unplug it from the vent pipes behind it and try flipping it backwards where the front of it is facing inwards, strange i know but then pull it and will come out. If u take out the radio trim you will have access from underneath too.
@@patrickborg509 how to put it back ? Can you make a video please?
Foooocking thank u bro im making just the same in mine
Mr bitch video’s

Im about 8 hours into doing this job and literally lost the will to live and came in for a beer
The springs a twat
Awesome dude. Thanks for the heads up
I just replaced my pedal on the same car but the spring keeps forcing the clutch to the floor, did I put it in backwards?
legend!!! thanks dude!!
Thanks for the vid. I fixed my girlfriend's golf this morning. I can confirm it is a bitch! Easy to take the pedal off and weld the bracket back on. But if you weld it all the way around the bracket , the black plastic clip will not clip back on. (Because it needs a gap between the welds like factory) The black plastic clip actuates the clutch switch , which you may have on your vehicle. And may or may not need to worry about.
Thanks dude, you helped me a lot!
Will a Mk4 golf 1.4 pedal fit a 1.8?
Great video mate! Thanks
My lovely golf has failed me! Clutch cable has broken away from clutch pedal .. mechanic said he will try and weld it back together, is this even possible?
Well done - shows the two main problems with fitting a new clutch pedal
Sorry to be offtopic but does someone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me.
@Xavier Andres Instablaster ;)
@Victor Xander thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm trying it out now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Victor Xander it worked and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D Thanks so much, you saved my account !
@Xavier Andres Happy to help :D
Yo dude this video is a lot of help but how the fuck do you get the white clip attached to the push rod?
awesome vid, I just need to go fix it now :(
thanks for this bro ,massive help
fucking respect for going to the effort of doing this video man, my golf clutch did exactly this on the M6 on way to work this morning in rush hour traffic, bout fackin shat myself. Gonna go pull it apart now.
I've tooked it off, and wrapped it with 3d carbon vinyl :D
Great video bro, I've got a weird clutch issue... being that it doesnt always fully return and I have to pull it back up with my foot. also the pressure on the pedal goes light and I can hear the release bearing on the pressure plate going tic tic tic tic tic. I've changed the slave and I'm going to replace the clutch master tomorrow in the hope that it solves the issue, if not I guess I'll be changing the release bearing and fork :( I also have a 1.8t agu ;) any suggestions or tips would be great.
Did you ever find out the cause of your problem? i have the exact issue.
Dee Dubb yeah buddy I did. It turned out to be the dual mass flywheel! Luckily for Me I had one still attached to My old Seized engine 🤨
Hey thanks for the fast response! My pedal actually returns ok, just doesn't engage/disengage full it seems. i don't think it's mechanical at this point, because the issue came up right after i replaced brakes so i'm assuming i got air in the system, but my bleeding attempts haven't fixed the situation. no noise except when i let the pedal completely out. I'm about to change the slave cylinder, but have a feeling i may need the master cylinder as well based on what i'm reading.
Dee Dubb I changed both cylinders before changing the flywheel. I hope it is just air in the system for your sake. I always use an easy bleed kit at 20psi when doing my brakes or clutch. There about £20 for Halfords
i found out its my clutch fork. so now i have an excuse for a clutch upgrade!
