What was the red flower that Jenny said grows in Maryland?
🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓
Above the cemetery is Pratt rock … a great view to the west and the Connecticut river valley towards ascutney …
" Shrub " and " Lovage " a herb based liqueur , were still available as commercial mixers in pubs in Northern England in the 1980s . They were stored in brown glass stoppered bottles . In Alford, Lincolnshire they would drink it with Rum especially around Christmas time . Very nice too .
Saw the exhibit last week, and it is so well done. Impressed with all of the topics you covered. This exhibit is more than just about camps; it's a snapshot of cultural changes throughout the years.
Fabulous story! Hooray for badass women like Jennie!
Brilliant
Wonderful!!
Informative and well done -- the pictures are great!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent .
Thanks for the video. I will try these.
Don’t forget the famous “Imitation of Life” 1957
A nice way to see diversity 👍
I'm related to the Wood family of East Alstead. They had settled in the late 18th century. Pretty sure they lived in the Gilsum Mine Rd. area and have found some stones in the East Alstead Cemetery.
Jenna, this is so beautifully told and I am so grateful I stumbled upon this! The woman who dares…so amazing!
Thank you Shannon!
I’m a descendant of Isaac Wyman on my father’s side. Seems like such a great place! I’ll definitely go someday.

This book is absolutely incredible. It's the best railroad book I have ever read.
I volunteered for almost twenty years at the Humane Society in West Swanzey. You have done a wonderful job bringing this amazing woman’s life to light for the residents of the tri-state area. Jennie’s reputation lives on as we protect the voiceless in our midst. Thank you so much Jenna, Lee Baker
Horse Plus Humane Society sent me. Thank you for this video about the life and work of this remarkable woman. I'm just blown away she was able to accomplish what she did in her day.
Well done. Thank you.
Hi Jena, The most pressing issues of the time was animal abuse. I weep when I see abuse, cruelty, or neglect towards animals. They deserve compassion. End animal abuse. From heaven, Jennie Powers must have been watching my salutation for the courage and remarkable work she has done against animal cruelty. In bringing back Jennie’s work to educate our younger generation about abuse and importance, Jena, you did a fantastic job. Your words and work need to reach as many readers and viewers as possible.
I'm so glad you watched it Tika! Thank you for your words and support for the work that we do at the historical society. High praise coming from you! Regards, Jenna
Absolutely fascinating story! Tell me more!!
SO interesting! Thank you for sharing this film.
Thank you so much for sharing this for those of us who could not get to the showing this afternoon. Jeanie Sy
Very cool! Let's spread this around :-)
Please do!
Very well done
oh this is so lovely. I can't wait to see it.
"PINKY" starring Jeanne Crain as a young AA woman passing as a white person. I think Pinky and Lost Boundaries were very important films of the time. I only saw Lost Boundaries twice on TCM, but that was 10 years ago. Thank you for doing this.
Does anyone know whether the Johnson family approved of Mel Ferrer's performance in "Lost Boundaries"? If so, is there any documentation mentioning what the Johnson family thought. Thanks
The Historical Society of Cheshire County has a scrapbook and photos and news clippings related to the filming and premier that were gathered by the family and donated to us by Dr Johnston's wife Thyra. The family appears to have supported the film. Two of Albert Jr's songs were even used in the film. And they all gathered in Keene, family and cast, in 1989 to talk about the film's impact.
Beautifully told story of a lesser known aspect of WWII illustrating how Mr. McKane and others contributed their exceptional skills with honor and humanity. Thank you, well done!
Thank you for the video.
Fascinating story!
Thank you.
Can honey be used?
disregard my question. it was answered.
is white vinegar used or apple cider vinegar?
Hello Amber. Raw Apple Cider Vinegar. White is distilled and doesn't have the "mother" in it.
I wish to thank you for sharing this awesome video with me .
It's our pleasure
What kind of bread?
I believe she used a homemade bread for this video. You can use store bought bread, a loaf of white would work.
@@andreacheeney7972Thank you x2!!!😍
What kind of milk? 2%? Whole?
This was made with whole milk from their farm.
Looks so yummy!
Here is another film: I Passed For White, 1960: ruclips.net/video/tiXJwoimOf0/видео.html
"Lost Boundaries": Good film, though the true story is even more compelling, IMHO. One note: *Actor/Film-maker William Greaves was the original host syndicated TV series, Black Journal. (which later became Tony Brown's Black Journal); *Robert L. Johnson is the founder of BET/Black Entertainment Television.
Happy Diwali .. 🙏
Happy Diwali !!!
This is wonderful and so well done! I loved learning about Dashain and seeing the interviews. Thank you all.
Glad to find out more about this!
I just saw the movie, Lost Boundaries. Very good film.
I have made a raspberry shrub and a blackberry shrub. Blueberry next. Seasonal fruit. Because it is equal parts just measure the fruit you pick and add the same amount of vinegar and sweetener; honey, maple syrup, sugar. Enjoy the fruits of your labor!
