Howdy everyone,
Millie & Larry
From Barter Farms

Jajajajajajaja😂😂😂

I just cut a 29" pine log on my HF mill. It was absolutely ALL it would take 🤣 I cut it in 3rds, 6" each, thats 18" plus kerf, the slabs will yield a few pieces of 1 by, then I roll the 6" beams up and cut them 2" thick. I got about 21 good 2x6x14ft out of one log with a little bit of 1 by
That is awesome.
I did to growing up was one of my favorite movies
I'm sorry to hear and thank you for still posting even if you have cancer, proud of you!

Some audio would nice to let it Snow what you're doing and why and the piece is here the name and why you're assembling that way
Your right. That is one of the first videos we ever did
Screw the flat nail the rib
Nice setup 👍🎣💪
Thank you
Good to see the HF saw at work. It catches flack for being from HF, but it's actually a pretty good mill esp. for ~$2k USD.
Your right about that. The modifications that can be done are great too. I have modified mine to use a motor to raise and lower it. Also upgrading right now to a 420 motor
Ummm, thanks for the tour?
Any time!
Thanks for the video, I’m dealing with a curve in my cut. It happens in the first 6” or less. The blade just digs down then levels out. Could you make a video on getting the tension right and the straightness of the blade? Any help is appreciated! Thanks again.
Yes I will make it this weekend
Interesting, I have the same issue. I'll look for that video
nice knowledge bro....thks. support.

He's so cute! 😍❤️
someone else knows it is better in the rib
Ty
Thats debatable...there are many professionals that say screws on top..Thats the I like to do it never had a call back
I like screws on top. Less chance of rusting or leaking. Just have to make sure to not over tighten
Please idle it down between cuts
If I idle it down and it shuts off it won’t restart for hours.
That’s some beautiful looking wood. I also just found your channel and subscribed.
Thank you. And yes I agree this batch is pretty

The song made me cry because my dog died the day before new years eve
I’m so sorry, that’s how I ended up with this beautiful guy my dog passed a couple years ago. My husband was looking for a labradoodle cause he knew I liked them and I missed my dog so much. They are like our children after our kids grow up.❤
Griffon?
Labradoodle
I agree with the commenter below that most roofers recommend putting the screws on the flats and not the ribs. However, the exposed fastener supplier for Menards also states to place it in the ribs. I can't figure out why. On a side note, do you have a link to the screws/or can you tell me where you purchased them?
@TheDavidscc32 I purchased them from Southland Metal Roofing Supply in Valdosta Ga
I've been doing metal roofing for 40. You never put screws in the top of the rib it goes beside of the rib on the flat part. Only the nails to go on top. Because the screws will pull the rib down too far. And it was split the rib if he too tight.
Thank you Wib for your comment. In this case the direction from the manufacturer and the vendor for installation said to put screws in the top of the rib. So I just followed there instructions. I also used the lifetime screws that they recommended. There installer is the one who showed me were and how to pre-dill the holes. The directions do state to be careful not to over tighten. I have done roof in the past that we’re screwed down on the flat part I want the warranty so I followed there directions
There are pros and cons to on top of the rib screws. In the Philippines virtually all manufacturers recommend on top of the rib placement while warning against overtightening. I have lived in homes with 40 years old steel roofing and they generally perform well with screws on top of ribs. We get extremely heavy rains and typhoons, so we went with the manufacturer‘s recommendation. We don’t want to experiment with a roof costing us thousands of dollars. I can see that there are good arguments to be made for both methods. We would probably need a different kind of screw to make in the valley screws workable here. The screws supplied by the manufacturer here are moderately corrosion resistant, but would probably corrode earlier if not placed on top of the rib.
My brother like you're from another planet... putting srews on the flat will you problems you really do not want follow the proper procedure...it will save you plenty in the long run... on top the ridge is where your screws goes...
That's funny 😁
They can be

Thank you
This got old real fast
Charlie, at the time I did the video I didn’t know how to edit. Since then I have.
Holy smokes, cut your throttle back to idle when turning log, measuring, etc. Your saw band will last twice as long.
Sometimes I do if I remember. But if my motor shuts off from idling it down, then it won’t start for hours.
@@BarterFarmsyep i feel you there, running the same saw mill since 2019.
Good job Larry it’s carlos from the deck job in tampa
Thank you 😊
Are you in fla?

Don't you stand the boards needed sided on either side back on the mill?
