Rescuing an A40 Mack from the Woods Part 2!
After far too long we are back to the Mack! I received permission to get back on this property so I could continue the process of getting this A40 Mack out of the woods.
I want to thank everyone who commented on the last video and provided a great deal of information about this truck that I did not know. I really appreciate those who did that!
It has been raining a lot here so it has become too swampy to drive back there but as soon as I can I will be back making more progress. A friend who is more experienced with a chainsaw will also be with me to help fell the bigger trees growing through and against the truck. The last thing I want to do is drop a tree right on the cab of the truck....

1940's Mack Truck Rescue - Getting it out of the woods after 40 years Part 1!
Просмотров 167 тыс.5 лет назад
I'm not for sure what year this Mack truck is but I'm guessing it's late 40's. It's been sitting in these woods for nearly 40 years and it's my goal to drag it out. I know this is going to be a big job so I better start looking for a bigger winch... CORRECTION: This is a gas motor not a diesel, thank you everyone for all the information, I really appreciate it!
'75 Chevy Cheyenne C20 Driveshaft rebuild and install!
Просмотров 2,7 тыс.5 лет назад
After going out to the shop and finding huge puddle of transmission fluid under the truck I knew it was time to replace the transmission seal. While I had the driveshaft out it was the perfect time to replace the carrier bearing and u-joints. I wasn't going to do the u-joints initially but after further consideration I decided replacing them was the right thing to do. Unfortunately I could not ...
'75 Chevy Cheyenne Trailering Special Valve Cover Repaint

Just a quick video replacing the valve cover gaskets and repainting the valve covers. Slowing cleaning up the engine bay and this definitely made a nice difference. More to come!
Chevy Cheyenne c20 Update 2!

Making some improvements to the Trailering Special! On this episode I install a new Edelbrock 600cfm carb, replace the old water pump with a bad bearing and finish all the polishing on the paint to make the truck look a little more presentable. Lots more to come!

I've wanted an old Chevy truck like this for a long time, follow along as I get it roadworthy after sitting for nearly 15 years.
Bought myself a truck

It's a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, I have had it a few months and it seems to be a good truck, I forgot to open the hood in the video, but it has the 4.3 V6, I would have liked to have gotten one with 4.8 or 5.3 V8, but for the work I do, the V6 should be sufficient.

Use larger trees to anchor a winch, what were once called 'Holmes' trees', because Holmes wreckers needed them.
That delectably gorgeous old Mack truck there, beautiful old dowager lady, one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen! I swoon ❤ !
Second time around by shalamar on the radio. Classic disco
Just came across your videos. Is there a part 3? 🇺🇸
What happen to the power seat switch looka like missing
The model 1486A is from 1983 or after due to the lettering and evergreen color & the 4.8 amp motor. The '70s Eurekas had metal handles, 3.5 amps or E.S.P. 6.0 amp motors.
I owned a '77 LTD wagon ("400"), a '78 Marquis ("400"), and a '77 Lincoln Town Car (dubbed this because you had to have a Saudi friend to AFFORD to take this hog outta town!) They ALL were EAGER to start and SLURP up gas!
Any progress on the restoration? I know it would take a ton of work.
Now I want a part 3!
Por favor , corten esos árboles y remolquen ese viejo y bello Mack .
Still have the Mercury?
Thats a early 50's Mack A model
shes 5 tons 1940-1953 - Mack produced marine engines for many years. "The Mariner" engines were used in yachts, pilot and work boats. The ENDM 405 (FW) was produced from 1940-1941; a total of 16 engines were manufactured.

Do u still have the wagon
yes
Do you still have this car?
Never updated again. Might still be sitting there.
hi mike, that engine is a MACK 707 inline 6 gas job engine!
No it isn’t, it’s a 405 flathead the 707 only came in the LF or LJ and was an overhead valve engine
Our 1945 EH Mack had a factory wood floor. You could probably check with a friend of mine, John Heckman. He is an engineer with Mack trucks. His father was an endline mechanic at the macungie plant for 44 years.
When I was a baby my parents owned a custom Cruiser almost identical to this. My friends thought it was cool because it looked just like the one the family drove in the movie Poltergeist. Actually Poltergeist 2. Even though they used very similar olds custom cruisers the second one used the facelifted version and of course in the older film they used one pre-1982.
Awesome project! Thanks for the video and good luck!
Looks like it will be sitting there for the next 40 years
What ever happened with this? Would love to see an update.
Also nice '75 Chevy you have. Looks like you're doing rust repair on it.
Great to save a good old Mack , and I am anxiously awaiting the next video . Any idea when that may occur ? I have a " 55 " B61 and a " 62 " B422 , but I did not have to dig either one out of the woods !
I'm hoping to get there this winter when the ground is frozen to hopefully make dragging it out a little easier. I have limited access to the property so unfortunately it's a little out of my control. However I remain determined!
@@MikeGuy993 That's great ! Stay with it.....well worth the time and effort !
@@MikeGuy993 how about an update?
What about an update on this old Mack?
Still working on it, I have limited access to the property, and I'm hoping to get there this winter when the ground is frozen to hopefully make pulling it out a little easier
@@MikeGuy993, best of luck! That old Mack sure looks like it's worth saving and putting back on the road.
@@MikeGuy993, any luck getting it out?
You couldn't rescue rescue your own f****** boot out of a lake
A person who knows Rusty automobiles would know not to stand on the fender with rest of that to get into the trunk
Mike, what is happening with this truck???
Beautiful old beast! Those 307s are a bit underpowered, but reliable as hell. Take care of her and she will last forever!
That’s a nice ol Chevy PU too
Nice when it takes a little bit of cranking before it starts!
The motor looks like a Mack 401
I drove a54. A40 for over 40 years
It held up pretty well for sitting there for fourty years. I just recently went to a truck salvage yard and a lot of them sat 20 or 30 years and were rotted into the ground. And half of them didn't have an engine or trans.
How did you take off the speedo adapter?
Gorgeous car👍
Waiting on part 3
Trying to get there as soon as I can, I will most likely need a small dozer to get it out, but I need to try and do that with out tearing up the property per the owners request which I completely respect. I just need to brainstorm the best way to do it
Any more happen with it?
Mercedes betz 1924 año 1990
Hey........what has happened to your Mack project?
Still in the works, it's not on my property so I haven't been able to get back on the land yet. However, I will be back!
@@MikeGuy993 great, really like to see a cold start? or drag er home! Thank you for responding! GOD BLESS!!!
try some howard feed n wax wood polish and conditioner on the finish, it may help , but it might need to be refinished, ebay sells it for a good price.
Been a year hope all is well
I would have removed the tree on the outside of the rear wheels, removed the wheels, then had easy access to the one next to the frame
Any updates?
THAT IS ALL, NOTHING NEW FOR OVER A YEAR? MUST HAVE DROP AXEL TREE ON CAB.
Hi is there a part 3 to the A40 Mack Truck ???? It has been over a year , up date would be better sooner rather than Later 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😅
Did you ever get it moved?
To see an update video of this truck
You haven't posted any new content for awhile. You okay, bro?
