I have a S&W M&P 2.0 full size, optics ready, suppresor height sights and threaded barrel. I paid $619 new. I wanted to trade it for a used Springfield Garrison 1911. The guy at my local gun shop said that he would give me 60% of the new price being that my gun only had one magazine shot through it. I have been in business for myself so I understand why they price things the way you do, and it's just business, nothing personal. I ended up keeping my gun and buying his gun outright because I didn't want to take a $200 loss. People assume that normal everyday guns hold their value but that's far from the truth.

My local gun store has map pricing as well. Sig, Glock, S&W, Wilson Combat all are at a set price. People come into his shop and get pissed when he won't price match PSA. He is right at academy sports prices so I generally buy from him unless there's something I really want from Palmetto State and it's at a clearance price.

Think my dream career would be a gunsmith. Unfortunately i was born in the north of ireland. Its incredibly difficult to gain access to firearms here, let alone gunsmithing qualifications. Hopefully i can do more research and find a way

My first shotgun was a Maverick 88, served me well, and still have it. The current bedside is an A300 Ultima Patrol, loaded with 7+1 federal "flitecontrol" 8 pellet 00 buck loads. Esstac card on side with 7 truball slugs (just in case)...wish Federal would bring back the #1 buck "Flitecontrol" loads. Perfect HD loading.
