Derby canal ring walk
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.14 лет назад
Filmed just over 15 years ago, found in a drawer whilst looking for something else. You can see the Long Horse Bridge, construction work on the A50, and what remained of the Derby canal. We don't seemed to have filmed any of the Erewash canal as it goes from Trent lock to Sandiacre lock.

Samsung Internet@TV BBC iPlayer App
Просмотров 28 тыс.14 лет назад
BBC iPlayer Application on a Samsung LE40C650. TV has the Internet@TV feature. Built in Ethernet Port, WiFi supported with an optional USB Wireless dongle. The iPlayer runs well with my 8Mbps connection without stuttering, but does not remember where you were on a given programme, so you need to sit down and watch a programme at one sitting. Aside from that it works well.

You helped me a lot, thanks!
Do you still use this Samsung TV??
No, it was still going strong , but the smart features had mostly disappeared as the apps were no longer supported ,passed it on to a family member and upgraded to a 49 inch 8000 series.
@@hilary211 I have the Samsung LE32C550. Still working like new. No smart teve apps in this version - so it does not get outdated software. Working like new because it has been used so little. I do not watch teve so much. I use the Chromecast for Netflix and RUclips.
Thanks so much for sharing, i can recall alot of these places from my childhood. great memories too
Don't understand what you mean, the app is for on demand, not live content. Shirley you watch live content via the tuner?
Can I watch live on bbc iplayer on samsung tv?
= ( I had an old school freind pass before we could rewalk the tow path , I took a conker that was growing in a pot out to the bridge and planted it on the Sawley side to remember him by seemed like the thing to do . Now theres always a bit of him there for me . Next time down I will plant on on the Shardlow side for you .
Cheers Mr T, Many a time in the Shakespeare at Shardlow we bemoaned the endless delay in rebuilding the bridge. Sadly my mate passed away before the Fathorse was completed.
And by the way love the vidio
Fathorse Bridge was named after a towpath pub crawl when a local came in to the pub at Trent Lock and in the middle of some locals talking about the replacment bridge said " I nearly got hit on that new bridge by a Fathorse " Its now called Fathorse Bridge . Long Horse Bridge went 2003 .
The new bridge is not called long horse they have named it Fat horse bridge
Sorry no idea, I get the feeling that Samsung don't do too many updates to older TVs.
when is netflix coming to Internet@TV
I do like the concept of Internet TV and On Demand all built into the set as I am in the market for a new Smart, LED TV, maybe even 3D but not a necessity. But the only down side I seem to see is poor navigation, laborious key inputs and somewhat generally slow or choppy loading of menus (whether that's down to the processor, memory etc). But do you use iPlayer a lot and what's it like using regularly? As I use it a lot on the Wii at the moment and it's quite nippy with the motion control.
@tickleonthetummy I have the same issue, did you ever resolve it?
anyone find that iPlayer menu navigation is incredibly slow? like scrolling left/right on the main menu (highlights 1:15 on this vid). don't think it's a internet speed issue - it's perfect on my laptop.
I've wondered this myself, I have a BD5300 player with internet@TV which hasn't implemented the iplayer, all I can think is that there is insufficient memory in the player to support the application.
Brought back a lot of happy memories for me of the canal between shardlow and trent bridge
wii xD
I really like your video I can't find this type of video anywhere in utube.
@batmandandrobin I never got a reply from them. I'll try again.
@hilary211 I have just raised this on iPlayer forum as well, did you ever hear anything back from Samsung, as it is really bright.
One thing I have found is that the volume control does not work properly, at 0 its loud. The normal TV volume control is disabled. Also there is no way of adjusting the brightness of the screen whilst within the internet@TV applications. I've raised this with Samsung, with post any response.
Nothing more to buy! The applications are stored in the TV's internal memory (about 500Mb I think). When you connect the TV to the Internet, it will automatically update itself with the latest apps.
