Headcorn Storm
On 16th October 1987, the day after Michael Fish infamously re-assurred the nation that a storm was not just about to hit the UK, I shot some video which proved that he was most definitely wrong!

    Great to see & hear that wonderful man, John (Beardy) Morgan. He used to pick me up from outside my girlfriend's house in Wateringbury on a Monday morning after I was expelled in 1979. I cannot hear 'Lord of the Dance' without thinking of him playing at the end of term.

    I work here now as the full time groundsman and watching these and seeing how much the school has changed is unbelievable. The tuck shop is now the tearoom for the caretakers and myself

    Yuck: "Frog" Newcombe. "People haven't read anything..." And when did he ever motivate us? Ramming Shakespeare down our throats for absolutely no discernible reason. I needed years to get over that abuse and come to appreciate his plays.

    I wake up everyday with a smile on my face and sing praises to this powerful spell caster called Dr,UBAJA who has done me a great favor by rescuing my relationship from break up. I used to think that I have a perfect relationship till when my lover started coming home late and everyday he gives me different excuses then I decided to keep a close eye on him then I discovered that he was having an affair with another girl. I was heartbroken because i trusted him so much and knowing that he has a secret relationship, hurts me a lot.. But I thank all those who placed the contact information of Dr UBAJA on the Internet because through that i have been able to contact Dr UBAJA and today my relationship has been restored with love and more romance than ever before. If you are in any kind of relationship or marriage stress I will do you a favor by dropping the contact information of Dr, UBAJA Or Call/Whatsapp+2347067462837

    Amazing, thank you for posting this Paul, I have now watched all 6 parts.Many of my teachers are in there but not named in the film:Nigel Norman in the "language lab" (what happened to that?);Mr Newman in the Chemistry lab;Dr A. Webb (History);Mr Stewart (PE)Colin Wright on the piano.We can now see what an incredible idea it was to make that film. Didn't realise it at the time!

    Are the running vests at 20 seconds a green and yellow hoop or a blue and yellow hoop? I'm wondering whether the old cine film lost its colour?

    Mr Knight died in 2006

      @dripzie. The Mr Knight I knew was the woodwork teacher. Was there about 1946-1979...99 terms!!!

    • @markshere1022
      @markshere1022 3 года назад

      @dripzie. I left MGS in 1983!!! No doubt very different now. Only 13 - 18 year olds then, all boys and a number of teachers been there since the war!!! There were a couple of female teachers. Was more selective then I believe. I was in a strong cohort that left that year, with many names in the school hall wall. I only got a place at Cambridge, so my name is not on it, but 30 of us got to Oxbridge that year. I'm sure you will see there were many names that year, almost rivalling the "great year" of 1978. God I feel old. Good luck with your studies!!!

      @dripzie. Oh dear. The Head of Maths will be weeping...left in 1983 as stated...so 18 then...meaning born 1965... meaning now 55... but thanks for making me seem younger...!!!

    Great post. I was one of the first Navy CCF pupils when it started in 1968. Now living in Fife and strangely enough so is Martin Passmore. Must try and meet up with him as we were also members of The Choir etc. Great memories.

      Mike, I was in the choir too, sorry I don't remember you! Do you remember that Martin also made a record of the choir (7 inch EP) - I still have a copy.

    Swimming pool had gone when I arrived in 1977, as too had the scout group which had once been led by my form teacher EC Newman, and certainly no sea scouts. Good to hear Mr Morgan's dulcit tones. Cross country runs through Mote Park remembered with distinct unpleasure. We certainly didn't have numbers on our shorts. mr Avery of hockey had gone, and we had Mr Evans and Mr Locke. Staff match was a bloody affair!

    good to see some old faces like Caley and Melly - buildings seem exactly the same as when I was there 1977-82

    I was there 1977-82 - good to see things looked very similar. hearing staff brings back memories. Caley (WJCC) taught me English, and loved the sound of his own voice. Mr Smelly Melly (RIP) taught history. No 6th form centre.
