    Nice system it does give you the freedom to move the bike if required. I use a VacBag, with 4 sacks of Drisorb Optimate wire runs through the open end to the battery, electronic temp/humidity gauge left on the seat (blue toothed to a base station in the house). Seal up the open end around the Optimate lead with a cable tie, and leave it. Just for comparison I placed another humidity / temp sensor alongside the bike (outside the bag), readings are - Inside bag it moves from 10% to 15%, outside the bag 81% to 94% depending on weather and temperature. Advantage is no electricity used, disadvantage that’s it for the winter your bike is staying put, I suppose you could move it but that would be a pain in the arse. Great vid thanks for sharing!

    I used a VAC bag for my Kawasaki triple, cleaned and polished the bike, removed the battery then put the bike in the bag, added the supplied moisture absorbent bag thingy, sucked out as much of the air as possible with the hoover, sealed it and left it for six months, no condensation. On removal in the spring the bike was in exactly the same condition as the day I put it in the bag.

    I have a Vac bag which is great but the only downside is if youvwant to go out for a winter ride it's not a 2 minute job to get the bike out as my garage also has the cars in there which when wet are one of the reasons the garage gets damp. I put cardboard down inside the van bag to protect it.

    Dehumidifier are the best way to stop condensation it takes the moisture out of the air in the winter on a wet day I empty the container daily no condensation. Better than your tent. Keeps all my bikes 🏍️ dry. ⛽️⛽️🇬🇧

    • @suzukigt7502
      @suzukigt7502 8 месяцев назад

      Hi Alec, thanks for your comment, as I said in my video, I purchased the tent originally to protect the bike from dust and also just to give the bike its own space in the garage as my wife is in and out with her car during the day, not suggesting she's a bad driver LOL, and obviously the car is wet through some days which doesn't help matters, so i did concider a Dehumidifier but thought I would give this a try as I already had the tent in place and to see how cost effective it would be providing it stopped the issue, so for just over 4 pence a day I am more than pleased with this setup and it works for me and for a very minimal outlay but as you mention, probably wouldn't work for multipul bikes, as you have.

    Condensation has nothing to do with airflow. When warmer air suddenly hits the cold surfaces of the bike or anything metal, is when condensation occurs. Just insulate your storage space properly with foam backed plasterboard and an insulated roof, and condensation wont form.

    • @suzukigt7502
      @suzukigt7502 8 месяцев назад

      I have to disagree with you there, airflow and ventilation will, and does stop condensation forming, its tried and tested in my case, im more than happy with the results and for only 4 pence a day. In an ideal world we would all have fully insulated storage space but at what cost ?

    Nice bike, you’ve really looked after that! had one of these in the 70s same colour, kept it for a couple of years, then had a custom paint job done on it, desert scene, had it for a few months longer and it was raining one day and a dog ran out on me and fetched me off. Put me off biking for quite a few years, but once a biker always a biker as they say!! Once the kids were older returned to biking had a KR1s 250. Kept this for nine years, traded it in for a brand new R1. Sold that after two years, returned again and my latest bike is a ZXR400L9 model. I installed a vent axia lo carbon tempra single room fan in my garage cured my condensation straight away and costs virtually nothing to run. condensation in any room or garage is not caused by just cold weather its the outside meeting inside temperatures. poor ventilation is the problem. I would be more worried about fire hazards with your setup as its not designed to be run for long periods of time or even on/off for long periods. Ventilate the whole garage cure the problem permantly.

      Hi there, and thanks for the comment, I tried just a dust sheet, but to no avail, my wifes car being driven in and out on rainy days is one of the biggest contributing factors to my condensation issues, but sinse adding the fan under the cover its cured it, I have tried leaving the cover off and just using the fan positioned behind the bike, blowing freely around the whole garage space to help with airflow and this made no difference at all, but by localizing the fan under the cover and leaving the breathable vents open as in the video its sorted my problem. Mostly dry here, with a month or so of rain in the wet season, so storage is not too much of a problem. Suddenly a mild south westerly set in and within hours my beloved ZZR1200 was literally dripping water onto the garage floor. Everything was wet, tank, panels, even the seat. Since then I have taken steps like you to avoid this in future. Hadn’t thought of the timer switch though.

    • @suzukigt7502
      @suzukigt7502 8 месяцев назад

      Hi Graham, thanks for the comment, since posting the video, I've reduced the speed of the fan to speed one and it now consumes about 20 watts when on, and since the 15 min increments its costing me 9 pence every two days so well happy although that figure depends how much your electricity costing you per kw mines charged at 28 pence per kwh at present and its important that you imput this amount into your electricity counter to get a true reading. And yes bike is out any day its dry weather, it turns a few heads when out and about, not bad for a 47 year old bike, ive had the bike three years and done 3000 miles to date on it, all be it dry miles for obvious reasons.

    • @thra5herxb12s

    • @suzukigt7502
      @suzukigt7502 8 месяцев назад

      Hi TC, thanks for your comment, yes I have tried it without the cover and yes there are air bricks in my garage but my garage is about 50 meters away from the house so there is no heat in there at all, and also its a big double garage so would be impractical to heat, my other problem that adds to the condensation problem is when my wife drives her car in when its been raining obviously all that rain on the car is just sitting there and thus ends up condensating on my bike as it evapourates, but as you say constant air flow is the key, I tried the fan without the cover but with such a large space to cover the fan on its own had little effect, however once inside the cover the air flow is localised around my bike and in my case this has cured my problem I am pleased to say.
