Crowdy Head Snapper Fishing
Просмотров 2,6 тыс.2 месяца назад
Fishing a new area up the coast for Snapper. We have heard the Crowdy/Harrington area is a hot spot for Big Snapper, so a few mates and I head up to try our luck. Using bait, berley and lures we spend 3 mornings on the water searching the local waters. My fishing buddy Steve lands his biggest Snapper on a lure which made the trip a success for us.
Inshore Winter Snapper/fishing Sydney/
Просмотров 2172 месяца назад
We continue with our Winter Snapper sessions. This time Shaun joins me for a morning out and fortunately for him he lands his biggest Snapper. The east coast was hit by gale force winds but lucky for us they are westerlies. We tried to stick in close to stay out of the wind but the lack of action forced us to move out into the wind where the fish were biting.
Sydney Snapper fishing/Mixed Bag on the Reef/Snapper/Blue Groper/Morwong.

A winters day out on the reef fishing for Snapper. We catch a great mixed bag as well as some good quality Reds. But first we tangle with some big Sharks and land a 6kg Blue Groper.. Bait and Lure fishing down a berley trail. Please subscribe to see future Snapper videos.
Jervis Bay Squid, Falls Creek Flathead
Просмотров 9133 месяца назад
A winter trip to Jervis Bay. Originally we were to target Kingfish with live Squid along the cliff faces but the sea conditions prevented us from doing this. Plan B and C came into effect and we fished Falls Creek on a wet and windy cold day, but still managed to catch quite a few Flathead while trying to get out of the wind.
South West Rocks Pearl Perch, Snapper and Tuskies
Просмотров 5174 месяца назад
We head back to SWR in search of more great fish. This time with no real reports of Mackerel so we go to plan B and head up to Scotts Head to reef fish for tasty Pearlies and Snapper. We are hit with a strong Sou-Wester on this trip which made it hard to fish at times but we did manage to land some top fish. The wind flattened the Macleay River Bar at least and that made for a safe crossing eac...

Our very first trip down to target Murray Cod and Trout Cod on the Murrumbidgee River. David takes his Kayak down while Mick and I fish the bank with lure and bait.
Catching/Snapper/Teraglin/Bonito
Просмотров 4435 месяцев назад
The Snapper are biting along with Trag and Bonnies on the inshore Reefs, northern Sydney. Powsie and I leave the confines of Brisbane Waters and head south to target a feed of Reef fish. We berley heavily and use a combination of Bait and lures to catch a good feed. We are plagued by BIG Bonito, the biggest we have caught that create problems for us as they run around our other lines and the an...
South West Rocks Mud Crabs, Cobia and Mackerel
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.6 месяцев назад
A week long trip to SWR is hindered by big swell so we were restricted to the river for most of the week. But some good fish including Cobia, Flathead and Bream keep us going until the swell died down. In between we get a good feed of Mud Crabs and when we do get to go offshore and the Mackerel were biting. Stay tuned till the end to see how to properly cook a Mud Crab.

Lake Macquarie overnighter, catching Bream, Whiting and Flathead
Просмотров 1887 месяцев назад
We catch Whiting, Flathead and Bream while camping on an Island. Catching our own bait to entice the big fish. Mick catches his biggest Whiting as we battle a severe wind storm. This is our first time fishing Lake Macquarie and we get ourselves a feed along with some good sized fish.

Brisbane Water catching Bream
Просмотров 86511 месяцев назад
An early morning run out tide with lightly weighted baits drifted down the berley trail for a big bream. I was plagued by little fish this day but did manage a few decent Bream. Only using Bonito as bait n berley and light 4lb leader to get the bite. Be sure to Subscribe as I will be putting up plenty more Brisbane water sessions as its my local waterway.

Hapuka
why would you throw grandaddy hapupa back? best eating fish in the ocean
Hey Reece, thanks for watching mate, not sure which fish you mean? Red Rock Cod are good eating but the ones we caught were too small and the other fish you might be referring to was a Sergeant Baker which are full of bones and not very good eating compared to Snapper.
Lol were you guys fishing the shoals or further south?
The shoals MrGavo, it's only our second time to Crowdy so we are not familiar on the area. To maximise fishing time we just fished close but will try further south and north next time.
@@brettcartwrightphotofishcamp nice Brett- heading up there in about an hour lol
@@MrGavo1978terrific mate seas look good this weekend
Nice catch mate
Thank you Bradley, have you been out getting any Cod?
It seemed that the longer the trip went the smaller the fish got lol but thats fishing
Yes Chris that's how it went mate. Looking forward to our next adventure to Crowdy, we learnt a lot while we were there, plenty of things to try and new spots to fish next time.
Always getting a good feed Bretto.
No better feed then Snapper in my opinion mate
Well done again mate 😁
Thank You Chris
i dont think that blue grouper will live much longer with his stomach hanging out if i am correct
Yeah maybe not miskeen, but what do you do? it's now illegal to keep Blue Groper so we had to release it. Hopefully once it swam down the water pressure would rectify the problem! It is a common problem with Blue Groper, I use to catch them from the rocks and just about every one had the same problem, but we were allowed to keep them in those days, 30 years ago that is.
@@brettcartwrightphotofishcamp isnt there a trick were they poke a hole under the fin to release the air
You're probably right but it's part of the food chain anyway, what do you think sharks eat pizza?
Nice productive day there mate, great mixed bag aswell' you seemed to be fishing light, roughly what breaking strain lines do you use? BTW great video 👍
Thanks Chris, My lighter outfit is a 2-5kg rod loaded with 15lb braid and 12lb leader. My main Snapper outfits are 4-7kg Raider rod loaded with 20lb braid and 20lb leader
Great weekend with good mates. Pity there were no kings caught but there’s always next time
some nice fish there boys
Shore waves in cold water have a completely different shape, pattern, structure and frequency than same sized shore waves in warm water.
Not sure how anyone would know this Alistair, but Ill take your word for it mate...
That looks like in between Copper Mine Bay and Cobrabald Bay but facing Bracken Island. Nice browns at dusk along all of that shoreline especially the creek lines and wet hollows except on an easterly. Falling barometric pressure is better and on the Tambo River High and Low tides because trout can feel the diurnal variation in atmospheric pressure and once in their heritage they were sea run as a species and they inherit this high and low tidal pressure sense and it is ingrained in them to feed on these stable 1 hour windows. Gosh it's a beautiful place.
Almost Alistair but not quite the right area mate, but Im sure a lot of areas look similar. Thanks for the comment and the info on the feeding Browns, Ill be sure to hit the Creek Lines and wet Hollows on those tides next time Im down there..
I know where that is. I've walked to that tree.
Great video mate. I assume the stubby cooler I saw at the 8min mark was to stop your beer feom freezing!
Thanks Brendan, Yeah Mate can't have the Great Northern freezing over lol...
Some nice fish there 👍 What size hull is that? Looks like a really nice boat.
Thanks Marty yes it's a great boat to fish from. It's a 5.5mtr plate alloy, Marlin Fabrication is the brand. link below.
Great catch there mate' hard to get good weather at SWR or so it seems 😂
Thanks Chris, no there is good weather when Im not there..lol
@@brettcartwrightphotofishcamp had a few days of really good weather here recently also what boat is it? im looking at buying myself a boat soon

@@brettcartwrightphotofishcamp Funnily enough i got sent a picture of the boat when you guys were parked in the coles car park when you were here
Ha Ha Its an impressive boat, nice wrap too. Alex had the hull and console built and then he fitted the rest himself. It's good for me to fish out of a big stable boat for a change, Im usually in my lightweight 4.75 quinnie. I wouldn't have been out on that last day in my Quinnie, Woulda been waves coming over the front!
Nice video bloke, captured Eucumbene's magic to a tee, such a cool place to fish eh.
Thanks Peter, yes mate defiantly a cool place to fish, ill be back very soon
Fishing and getting away from it all, is good for the soul - all men need some time to themselves.
Totally agree Frank, thanks for watching mate.
Get a cod next time fellas I thought I was going to cameo in your vid
G'day Brad, great to meet you boys while out camping. We'll get one next time buddy..
Mick ever thought of rock wall climbing
He just might be over the weight restriction for a rock wall climber lol
Serious bonnies there mate and very nice bag of fish too 👍😁
Thanks Chris, Lots of Trag around at the moment and yeah those massive Bonnies were great fun and plenty of bait for more Snapper sessions. Thanks for watching mate.
Jewfish is very good for tasting. Is it undersize?
Yes Jewfish need to be 70cm minimum length and only allowed 1 per person
Looks like you all had a great time.
Yes Johnny, good company, good time. thanks for watching
SWR is a great place to fish' I used to love going there, was that 1 trip or a bunch of trips?
just one Chris from 18th to 24th March. Unfortunately it coincided with big swell so it was difficult to cross the Macleay River Bar. So we only got offshore 2 days.
to me, mackarel tastes a lot better than salmon, not sure if its a unpopular opinion, great clip
Yes Mackerel is good tucker @UnderwaterFishFilms but I thought the Cobia was even better. Thanks for Watching.
nice video mate' with the photo's fish length with the larger fish would be great.👍
Thanks Chris, yeah OK mate ill do that..
When people (non fishers) ask me "don't you get bored?" I say, "there are not enough hours in the day".
Totally Agree
is that common bream or
Yellowfin Bream
Hey mate, great video!! That Samson was an interesting fish haha didn't know you could catch them down our neck of the woods! Hopefully see you out there mate!
Hey Seb glad you enjoyed it mate, I'll check out your channel as well mate. Caught a couple of Samsonfish down this way, but both have been small.
@@brettcartwrightphotofishcamp Thanks mate!! I watched your south west rocks a few times - that place looks incredible! Id love to go one day! Do you think the waters out there would be okay for a Stacer Outlaw 429 SC? Im definitely an amateur compared to you!! But trying to get better day by day by spending as much time on the water as I can!
SWR is a sensational place to fish. Ive been going there since 1991! OMG I'm old... The problem is the bar on both the Macleay River and back creek. Always cross the bar on the run in tide and close to high tide even better. There is launching at the Gail but it's a 4x4 launch off the beach atm due to the sand build up. We are going to SWR next week so look out for the vid, we always catch something at the Rocks. Your boat would be ok but be aware of the bar!
What lure was the Bonnito caught on
can you camp anywhere on the shore line in lake eucumbene
The short answer is no Mate! Not anywhere
no you have to use specified camping grounds like buckendera but the rangers are thin on the ground at moment
Great video cobber, love ya hootchie 👍👌
Good onya Damien, glad you like my hootchie mate..
Any Catfish in the cudgegong river bro...😮😮
Yes Paul, there is Eeltail Catfish in the Cudgegong River, but they are a Native and protected, Not allowed to take them.
Great work Brett, you certainly go the extra mile to shot! Those trout recipes look delicious.looks like your pretty passionate about the Rabbitohs too.
Thanks @akhector, yeah mate the mighty Rabbitohs are a passion of mine. Hope they make the semis this year..
Wet n cold at times, but great fishing 🎣
Yeah we had to time our run between storm fronts lol
Was that a carp I seen let go all am I blind 😂
No Carp released in this video @r6boils314, a very small Murray Cod was released at the end!
hi, superb video and very beautiful fish. well done to you.
Hi Irons, thanks for watching, so glad you liked it.
👌
Thanks for watching
well I would have kept at lest one for the plate 🤤a bit chilly out in the morning it seemed 🥶
Im not a fan of eating Bream, but I do like targeting them on light line. They fight so hard. This was a couple of months ago Chris and I finally got time to edit it and pop it up.
Damn i miss fishing with ya. Pushing my limits, ya crazy shift worker. Mate, I know it's a bit expensive but give Old Bay seasoning a go. Follow the back of the jar, flour to seasoning. Goes good on chicken and fish in the fryer. I should be doing those sessions.
Ill give it a go mate
bloody nice tailor and good bag all round 👍
Good onya Chris, thanks for tuning in mate.
Where did you get handy man skills. 😮

Thank you Peter, yes it was a top trip to a new destination for us. Thanks for watching mate.
I reckon I've completely forgotten how to dress and prepare for those conditions. No idea what that waterway is near?
Khancoban is down near Eucumbene and Jindabyne. Went there in search of Atlantic Salmon
I will exchange Redfin for trout any day , so good eating
