Hi everyone I'm CSGilmore and this is my channel where I primarily do gameplay video's, talk about games, and have fun.
I might even give a podcast a go someday.
Now some of you might be thinking that this is a pretty broad bit of content coverage, but to me it isn't, because there is a connection between them all, and that connection is story. I love stories, and games tell them well.

Against the Storm Part 9 Cursed Woods
Просмотров 212 часов назад
The cursed woods really changes the feel of the game, and I kind of like the events and changes it makes. The ghosts are a fun extra event to deal with, and the whole not knowing which glade is going to be fine and which are going to try to kill you is a nice way to mix things up.
Against the Storm Part 8 Double Modifiers on Veteran

Time to test out both the veteran difficulty as well as how it handles when there are two map modifiers hitting us at the same time.

Cryptark Part 4 Wrapping Up with a Look at Rogue Mode
Просмотров 116 часов назад
Giving Rogue Mode a quick look before calling an end to this series. Not a bad game, feels like some of the old arcade style games that were very hard to beat, but I just am not feeling the drive to continue playing it at this time.

I had heard about the snails, but can safely say I had not expected it to turn out the way it did, or for the snails to be so adorably playful. Oh also getting the the gateway engine at the core of the planet is pretty cool too.

Yoo dope Aliens video!!
@@97Jonnyboy Thanks. I'm happy to have found a game other than alien isolation that really gives the feeling of the alien universe.
I love how after you carefully sneak around to line up a silenced sniper shot, the marine yells "DON'T MESS WITH ME!" Perfection.
@@chuckhoyle1211 Classic marines.
I find a small generator and the mini rtg handy to have on me or the tractor. Also the soil centrifuge is very handy once you have adequate base power. It saves travelling half way around the planet looking for resources ie clay when you can make some out of soil.
This looks like a pretty cool game. Keep it up! Hope I can see more of this.🙂
The doorways to those spawn holes at the 15:00 mark would be the perfect place for mines. Also, the entryway from whence you came.
@chuckhoyle1211 ah I honestly forgot about the mines, you are right that would be a good place for them.
Send your lowest level marines to extensive training so they can level up while you are away and you don't have to bring them on missions to improve them.
@chuckhoyle1211 I think I got that set up eventually. Kind of forgot about that feature.
You really need to use Suppressing Fire during onslaughts more. It really helps to slow those fast buggers down.
@chuckhoyle1211 yeah I'm starting to realize how helpful it is, just recorded mission 4 and actually put it to use finally.
Question....I feel that a bait and switch has happened...Remember a few years ago, they had a firetiea, lead by a female were fighting these creatures, only to discover that on some of the video's, it came out first, and then switches to the scene that you had...where some guy knocks out a worker and removes the clamps. To your knowledge, is there any video that includes the fire-fight that attracted us to the video in the first place?
@RobertSpiller doesn't ring any bells for me right off, but I wouldn't be surprised if a scene happens like that later in the game that I haven't gotten to yet. That or I wonder if you might be thinking of another alien game, I think there is a shooter one where you play as a marine.
@@csgilmore3536 ok let's see what happens.
When the game tells you to prepare, set up all your sentry guns pointed towards the door you are about to open.
Kept my old save, but started a new file to see how I could fare with all my knowledge. So far before selling my first potion (skipping tutorial) had 'trading 3' and end of first da had chapter 1 done. Mm seems trading and then haggling will be fine and I can largely ignore most of the other two branches as I don't need visibility or more re spawning exp on the map.
@@xenxander very nice
As you get further into the game I have a few tips 1) Don't be stingy with Command Points. They regenerate so don't be afraid to lay down suppressing fire or fire a shotgun. 2) Place a lot of motion sensors around. It helps clear the fog of war and you can keep tabs on our xenomorph buddies. 3) Don't be afraid to bug out if an early mission is going south. If your squad is beat up physically and mentally, fall back to the Otago and grab a fresh squad to finish it off. 4) Try to keep the APC as close to your squad as possible so that you can lure xenos to it to die. It has a lot of firepower. Don't be afraid to use it. It is also helpful for a quick evac.
@chuckhoyle1211 thanks for the pointers. Definitely love the apc. Commands points I do need to get better at managing, I tend to forget about using them for more than grenades far too often.
I really hope you figure out that you have to wait for the marine to open boxes and such. In the beginning you kept on cancelling the order after telling them to open the box.
5 minutes later...
@@chuckhoyle1211 yep got it figured out
Without watching, I'm placing the over/under on how many time he dies trying to escape at the end of the prologue at 4.5 and I'm taking the over.
@chuckhoyle1211 been a little since I recorded this episode now, as I recall I only died a few times in the prologue as I figured things out. Probably would have been more if the part with actual danger was longer though as I do have a bad tendancy of taking risks out of curiosity with these sorts of games.
Now it's getting good finally. I try to make potions with as few ingredients as possible and if possible no crystals (though that's impossible at times). I'm at the stage now where I'm attempting to get 1k of every ingredient. I already have all the salts.. and I suppose I could just decorate my shop with the crystals just 'because'. Heh.. I think the more interesting path is the evil path though either path pays about the same. If you go good, you won't get requests for necromancy or curse.. the evil path might avoid inspiration or rejuvenation.
@xenxander that makes sense I'd have to experiment to really see how the good vs evil gig handles, or I'd neutrality might get both but maybe not some of the more extreme jobs on either side.
@@csgilmore3536 Not sure what my most expensive potion was. I know I've made 15k selling one before but that's end-game. Just depends on the effects they want, how many, and how far away they are.
it's enjoyable and rather chill. I have around 60hrs in it total. I got all things unlocked and tried to refine everything.
@@xenxander very nice.
CSGilmore, You're the best! I just had to subscribe!
I used to love this game. Got out of playing it for a long time. Nice to see someone else who enjoys it!!!
@@shaylethorne2387 it is definitely one I find myself playing on and off over the years. I play for a bit, get tired of it, stop for a while, and then find myself drawn back to it again.
What does the green godseed do? It says it brings you luck, but what exactly does that mean?
I haven't been able to figure it out really, the best I can figure is it might effect drop rate for the modules that you get from killing enemies, or maybe the amount of nano gel, but I haven't been able to really confirm anything.
@@csgilmore3536 Thanks for the reply. I just finished the game anyway. It had some decent moments but was pretty bland overall.
@user-wh5cw5nd2m no problem, thanks for commenting. I just finished it also, new game plus adds a few little things, but not enough to really weren't another run, and I kind of feel like the features added would have been better to put in from the start. I liked the look of the game, but it definitely felt like it was missing something. Also the boss fights felt like they were hard at first, but only until you learned the 2-4 move sets and how to dodge them, then they became easy.
So are you more of a efficiency over all, keep that awakening to a minimum type of player, or like me, a awakening might suffer but give me that story and lore type of player?
Any Warhammer 40k Fans out there? What was your favorite moment so far? I don't blame you if you can't pick just one. Mechanicus wise I think one of my favorites is from the Forges of Mars series where they are under attack and ask the arc mechanicus' machine spirit to help them, and it goes and pulls out a dark age of technology weapon that none of them were aware it had.
Beautiful
Hey! Just wondering if you still have this alpha build on a drive anywhere. Currently trying to preserve this game and I’m looking for this specific alpha build. Thanks a bunch!
I actually forgot about this game. Not sure if I have anything saved or not, I'll have to check my old computer and external hard drive and see if anything remains.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like any of the files remain.
@@csgilmore3536 Thank you for trying at least!!! Appreciate your effort :D

Hello my name is Robert its nice to meet you why are you so laggy?
Been a while with this one so I don't fully recall. I think there was some issue with this game in particular for some reason and it didn't get along with my recording software.
Nice voice! :o
out of curiosity does the places respawn loot? like if we looted all of say carson hotel every floor would the loot eventually respawn? or only the enemys?
Been a while since I played but as I recall only the enemies respawn, adds a bit of challenge to the game.
@@csgilmore3536 thanks I have been watching your series and I find the game interesting is there any tips that you perhaps think I should know about?
@@danceofthevoid6772 best I can think of is research better weapons, armor, etc as quickly as you can. The enemies scale up fast. Second would be that given the limited power supply to keep places running and slowing down the enemy growth, once you get some key cards finish exploring the prison and then cut the power to it for use elsewhere. A lot of the game really seems to consist of the race against the enemy buildup. Oh and a third thing I just remembered. One you get the shuttle prepped, don't jump in until you have explored all over and gotten your gear improved, because things get pretty crazy after that and having only a little oxygen right afterwards could really mess you up.
@@csgilmore3536 thanks this helps alot i also realized something while watching your series so far i havent seen you use the shield ability to block some damage is there a reason for this? <like do you just forget to do it or does it use an insane amount of power or something?>
@@danceofthevoid6772 I honestly don't remember if it used a bunch of power or not, pretty sure I just tended to forget.
Thank you for your hard work and persistence. Cool game.
It was a lot of fun to play, and I loved the art work. It was a tough one to figure out how to edit down the videos sometimes though because some levels took so long to figure out.
When I finished the game I didn't checked what happens if I accept his offer and I saved after killing him I thought I lost a possible ending but its just a dialogue that a missed haha
Awesome Fallout New Vegas video! I recently started a series on it as well
So when I recorded this I made an error in some things I said. At the time I thought higher difficulty meant more special enemies but not higher health or damage for the enemy units. I was mistaken though and having since played with some greater difficulty changes up and down, I have realized that they do indeed change how much damage the rats do and how many hits they take.
Its crazy how accurate this is
I'm not sure I understand to what you are referring?
Sorry it looks like Primm
Oh wow I didn't realize Primm was actually a real place. That is crazy.
Its the border of California and Nevada and it has a few old skool casinos. It looks just like the video
The Eddie Fuse Show that is insane. I do like it when games bring some real world places into the mix though, a nice touch of added immersion.
We've come to the last DLC for doom 3, and maybe it is just me, but it seems like this one was better made but brings in some story loopholes, but let me know what you think as we progress through this dlc.
this is actually really good , btw 2 questions 1.is that your voice? 2.did you make the background song?
The Gaming reaper. Yep that is my voice. I actually sang pretty quietly and then pumped up the volume in audacity. As for the instruments I used music maker jam to put them together, then I used music maker to convert the instruments into a format that worked with audacity to combine them with my voice recording. I don't really know how to play an instrument myself otherwise.
I don't normally make these sorts of things, but the mood took me and here it is. Hope you like it.
Nightmare gives you the soul cube in the beginning, and you constantly lose health
Oh man that is nasty, maybe I'll give it a go on my own time if I feel up to it. :)
Does anyone else tend to really like coming across rooms like this where you get a nice pile of info on the enemy creatures and the like?
