That tool is a joke completely useless I would imagine they would make it so the slide lines up perfectly with the slide stop. Nope not the case damn thing falls out every-time I don’t even bother with it anymore.

I never point a firearm at yourself especially if you just polled a loaded mag out of it! That is an easy way to lose the use of your hand or at least a couple of fingers.

Huge thanks, I just bought one off a buddy and was genuinely confused when I went to dissassemble and noticed there wasn't a barrel bushing like I'm used too

And of course my slide lock pin can’t be pushed out by hand, even when perfectly aligned. Opting for the alternative method as offered, but not shown (Kimber should’ve included more pictures) in the owners manual. Even then, it’s still a piece of work.

The paper clip works just fine. I made two of them that worked perfectly. You just need to use a heavier paper clip.

Standard tool for a 1911 no. This over complicated kimber yes.

It sticks on reassembly because of the pin that pops up when your hand pushes safety on the back of the handle. Hold gun upright and pops right in. And as for the comments about bad gun, bought my wife one and it’s a freaking nail driver. Guess it’s just personal preference I guess.

I see a lot of videos without the use of the tool. You can just pop the spring out freely like on most handguns on this platform. Music and vocals were caked over each other imho.

for the money you have to spend for a kimber it looks like more of a pain in the ass then it's worth. I think i'll stick with my glock. But thank for the vid.
