Celebrating 100 Years of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, this concert features Joanna Sobkowska-Parsons at the piano, led by Dr. Shelby Chipman, Music Director/Conductor. Along with Dr. Chipman are Associate Conductor Dr. Michael Douty and Guest Conductor Lisa M. Foltz. Additional performers include Julian White II, piccolo trumpet soloist, and Florida A&M University students from Kappa Kappa Psi, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Sigma Alpha Iota, and Tau Beta Sigma.

Concertgoers enjoyed a vibrant, romantic concert featuring Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony, Vasily Kalinnikov's dramatic Symphony #1, and Oskar Rieding's Violin Concertino Op. 21, 1st mvt featuring Kinley Corrigan (Artist Winner). Conducted by Drs. Shelby Chipman and Michael Douty, this performance at the Maguire Center features music by Prokofiev, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Marquez, and JP Sousa. Special appearance by the FAMU piccolo ensemble adds to the finale. Non-musical footage is included to fill in the gaps caused by the 2nd camera not set correctly. I hope you enjoy the performance.
