Thanks for this mature and balanced review. I love how you summarize it at the end. For me- it’s a special set, when it misses it is ridiculous for the price. But when it hits the spot - usually with badly mastered or low quality files, it does magic by making these recordings become alive and epic. That alone might not be worth it to you, or it makes all the difference in the world to your musical experience.

I have the Dark Phoenix which I love, and noticed it graphs *very* similarly, with slightly gentler upper mids / treble spikes in the Relentless. If you've heard both I'd be interrsted in your take, but I love the Dark Phoenix. EDIT: Well that was embarrassing. Nice review, thanks! I would guess for mixing one would like a more flat type of a tuning, less coloration. that's what I think, like tje Ziigaat Cinno...pretty flat. Each to his own.

"Professional Use" is the cop-out slang for "we didn't bother tuning these in any way". 😅

These have really great bass on the btr7 4.4 due to that 2.8ohms output lol. I'm guessing an ifi iematch would do the same, a 10ohm impedance adapter might muddy it up...maybe.
