Often, foreigners opt to buy property under a Malagasy spouse's name, which I personally don't recommend. A more straightforward approach is to invest in local businesses through an investment program. Another option is to secure a long-term lease. However, I must caution you that the real estate market here is rife with scams. I've encountered numerous fraudulent schemes myself while attempting to buy a villa.

I was browsing popular portals with apartments for rent in Tana and I was a bit shocked by the prices, because the society in Madagascar is poor and I was wondering where such prices come from. Now I know. If you consider the prices and standard of these apartments and compare them with the prices and standard in Pattaya or Bangkok, Thailand has lower prices and a higher standard. And that was a little awkward for me. But if you take +/- half of these prices from popular websites, then it looks reasonable.

@@CryptoManiacTravel What can you say about visas for Madagascar? What I know now is a tourist visa for two months and then you have to leave Madagascar. Do you know how long it takes to get another tourist visa for the next two months? Or do you know any other ways apart from a tourist visa for someone who would like to spend more time there?

you can extend it for 1 extra month with the immigration office in Anosy, so in total 3 month@@__Kornel__
