Clean Cable Management | Keep it Simple!
Cable management doesn't have to be difficult, or expensive. No need to purchase crazy cord management items; I've found keeping things simple, and following a few principles, will keep any desk looking clean.
3 Principles:
-Modularity
-Accessibility
-Power
3 Components:
-Surge Protector
-Central Hub (cable tray)
-Cable Management Kit
I'm hesitant to recommend specific products for this scenario, because every desk setup is different - make sure to find the right items for your needs!

$100 Endgame Monitor Arm - Ergotron NX Review
Просмотров 5 тыс.8 месяцев назад
Finally! After seeing $400 Ergotron mounts for years, the NX finally allows us to purchase a high-quality mount at a (somewhat) reasonable price point. $100 is still quite a hefty chunk of change to spend on your setup, especially for something like a monitor arm, but I'd argue in this case, it's a solid investment. I'd say the NX is the Ergotron LX's "stationary" brother, while still offering ...

Amazon Speaker Stand Unboxing/Review - Home Theater Within Reason ep. 2

The home theater setup is finally off and running, with my first purchase of the year - speaker stands! desk?
Having bought a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 recently for travels I quickly realised I miss my 2x 27" desktop setup, so waiting for my ThinkVision M14d to arrive tomorrow. I'll be a 2 x 14" travel setup.
what are the keycaps?
Husky should sponsor you! I was on the fence, but after watching your video I’m going to pull the trigger. Thank you 🙏🏿
I just Subscribed to your channel brother 👍🏿
Bro ive been seeing your videos on youre set up and i just the ending for some reason lol i know its from college but it's just funny hearing at the end
What monitor is that?
Is 52 enough for dual monitor setup?
As long as you don’t the pc on top.. yes Or have one monitor vertical
How does the arm hold up after all this time? Are you satisfied with it?
My desk is mdf, is this base wide enough to spread out the stress? My monitor is 11 lbs but i think that includes the stock base on it Or i still need a piece of wood under it
Hard to tell; it depends on the overall area of the MDF and where desk supports are. I.E. attaching the clamp within the proximity of a leg will have a better chance of supporting the weight instead of mounting directly in the middle of the desk. Personally I’d check your desk capacity in the manual/item description to see what kind of weight it can hold.
what monitor arm is that
Ergotron NX! I left a brief review here: ruclips.net/video/0o853UJxQUo/видео.html
the benefit with spring mounts even if you don't move your monitor much is that you can put it back a lot further than a pole mount especially if you have a shallow desk a pole mount could be too close to your face
Very true! I have a pretty shallow desk, so having the ability to shift monitors further away is awesome
Like the simple setup! Also, what keycaps are those?
Yeah that’s true, and that keycaps are 10/10
Much appreciated! Keycaps are Tai Hao “Vintage Camel”. Wanted something coffee themed at the time, but everything was super expensive. These were a nice alternative, might have to check the market to see what else is out there these days!
great vid !
Best video Ive seen to describe the pros. I couldnt seem to find this when searching for Thinkvision reviews.
What exact monitor do you have? I own the Dell S3422DWG (which looks like your monitor) and am considering buying this monitor arm.
Nailed it, that’s exactly what I’m using. Still no issues.
my issue with my current spring mount is it sags all the time. i just want to find one that doesnt do that... i want it to stay where i put it.
Typically, at one of the mount “joints”, there will be a screw you can tighten to tighten up the spring tension - it that doesn’t help, you may need to find a mount that can support the weight of your monitor
How’s the chair holding up these days?
Great! Almost everything I mention in this review is holding true. The one minor comment I have is some of the back framing has become “creaky” when applying weight. I haven’t looked into it too deeply, as it doesn’t concern me much. If it’s at a joint, chances are some WD40 will help.
Has your desk bow or sagged since installing the arm mounts ?
Not at all! I will say, I’m actually using a workbench (inch thick hardwood) as opposed to a traditional office desk.
Is there a difference between these kind of portable monitors and "lapdocks"?
I’m honestly not 100% sure. I would check the portable monitor’s capability to connect to various devices depending on what you want to use it for (if by “lapdock” you mean connecting to a smartphone/tablet)
I want this chair but im in europe 😢
I do think Haworth has an online international store! If this particular model isn’t available, I’d certainly be interested in some of the other options.
@@16ozsetups not this one, unfortunately.
funny because I just bought that same Dell monitor to go with my alienware ultrawide oled lol, basically will just use the oled as a purely gaming monitor or movies, and the dell for basic content consumption, work, etc.. Want my oled too last for years so less static content on it the better! Now I need to set up my cinema display as a vertical monitor too lol, hope my gpu can handle it.
The need for a new GPU is never ending!
The best reason I've found not to do it is in-home streaming. It's a nightmare trying to stream 21:9 to 16:9. Other than that, go for it. I upgraded from a 38" ultrawide to a 32" 4k OLED and don't regret it personally.
Ive been considering going from my 34" oled to a 4k oled but I feel for gaming 4k is still a bit too much for most cards.. It can even make the 4090 look average on games like cyberpunk with raytracing and all that unless you crank the dlss
Agreed, I’ve since definitely come across a few shows with various iterations of black bars. There are browser extensions out there that will “zoom” to the correct aspect ratio, but you’re losing out on resolution by going this route. That said, I do think the pros outweigh the cons, especially if you use another dedicated screen for streaming purposes.
amazon link?
Nice video! I was looking for the link too.
are you able to stack the monitors with your gas spring mount? Or would the bottom monitor be touching the desk?
hi i saw your mounting near turn table.. can you use it like that? what screen is on ?
Good eye! Mounting near the record player was for demonstration purposes, but I did use to have a setup similar to that configuration. IIRC the monitor was smaller, 19”, it wasn’t really getting in the way of the record player.
way too much plastic for the price you're paying as is the case with all their other chairs...
I would love a 100% non plastic office chair one day if you have any recs!
Have fun moving your 100lbs chair 😂
You seem chill. Beck yeah. Nice desk
Great vid! Could you play games 16:9 and then use the remaining 5:9 portion for productivity for browser or other apps?
I’m pretty sure you can! You will have to run the game in windowed mode and manually set the resolution to your desired size.
For anyone that can afford Ergotron mounts, it's better to spend a bit more and get Humanscale arms. Those come with a 15-year warranty, and have a far superior cable management system.
I’ll have to check these out!
I used a monitor arm for my laptop before, then i found that my desk wasn't big enough for it. Now i back to stactic stand
amazing videos very underrated Keep up the amazing work
Thanks for the support!
For simracing and Flightsimming 21:9 or even wider is a must, a true game changer. For most triple AAA open world games or 3rd person action, fps-games (maybe if competitive) it is more of a luxury and I can live without. It is also quite demanding, so I switch to regular 16:9 1440p often if the framerate struggles on Ultrawide. For office work or otherwise, well I do not really do that outside of Words, so not really an opinion about that.
Thank you so much for doing this video. Very well done. Can you please tell me that name of the dual mount at the 2:33 time mark? I can’t seem to find it.
Thanks so much! At 2:33 there is no dual mount utilized. You can find the dual mount I end up using towards the end of the video.
Just ordered one of these. I have the amazon basics lift engine, and also the more expensive Dell monitor arm, but this is just so much simpler and cleaner for those of us tjay dont need all those adjustments
Agreed, super simple option if you want something for a single monitor
I Like the AISC steel design guide 😅
Engineer’s bible
Thank you fir the information, but the music was too loud and distracting to listen.
Understood! Still learning proper mixing techniques, thank you for the kind critique.
How long is your workbench? I'm thinking about getting one to pair with my North build (goated case)
North is my favorite case thus far (video in the future)! This is a 52” long workbench.
Which mount do you recommend for two 27 inch monitors and my desk is like.. 3 inches close to the wall? I also wanna be able to adjust the arms up and down as well. I'm at a rental place so I don't wanna do wall mounts
Damn that voice pls talk to me more. Nice video btw I'm currently looking for an arm stand and this was very helpful. Thanks :)
Glad it was helpful!
GET A MOUSE PAD! also you deserve 10k subs at least.
Much appreciated! Maybe one day!
Great video! Just got one myself and was looking for videos that showed how well it swivels and tilts.
Thank you! Hope you’re liking it thus far!
I'm concerned about weight. Can you pack this into your hand luggage?
This particular monitor is much lighter than I expected, I have no issues with weight. You can certainly pack this in your personal luggage if it fits, but I would ensure to keep it flat and protected as much as possible.
i like ur video. btw what is ur monitor size? seems like 24 inchi
I’ve since moved on to new monitors unfortunately. Check out my portable monitor video; the desktop monitors shown at the beginning of the video are 27” in diameter.
Pole mount without elbow is often good, the elbow often gets in the way. Stay away from dual arms, the elbows are too close together.
I personally have had no issues with dual arms, although it certainly helps I have larger monitors allowing for greater elbow separation.
what is your laptop
I am currently using a 16” Dell.
what your desktop monitor name?
Hi! The desktop monitors shown in this video are the Acer B277s.
Definitely going to order one, I have the HX model which is great for heavier monitors. It doesn't work as well for my new Alienware 32 inch OLED though, The monitor is too light so no matter how much I adjust the tension, It likes to tilt up automatically. Only thing I would be loosing by buying the NX would be the ease of adjusting the height, But I don't really need that once I set it to my preferred height. Thank you for covering this arm, Definitely helped me make my decision. Do you recommend ordering directly from Ergotron or would it fine getting one from Amazon?
I’d say you’re fine either way. Typically I like ordering from manufacturers direct when possible, especially when dealing with a nice company like Ergotron, but I can’t blame you for going with the convenience of Amazon (especially if you find the $10 deal)
You have the most basic and cheapest setup I have even seen. What are you bragging about? Why did you even make this video? Even your picture quality looks cheap. 30fps and blurry cheap.
Hi :) Great review, thanks. I'm curious if the stand could mount through a grommet hole? (parts included or adapter), because that would truly make it the end game mount for me personally. Thanks :)
Hi! Can you specify what you mean by grommet hole? If it’s a standard grommet hole on the desk, I don’t think the entire square base will fit, but it’s possible the pole will fit through it if you’re mounting below
