Never Spoke a Man Like This Before | Kevin DeYoung T4G 2014 Sermon
Просмотров 27 тыс.10 лет назад
"Inerrancy, Evangelism and Christ's Unbreakable Bible" In this sermon, primarily from the Gospel of John, Kevin DeYoung argues that Scripture's inerrancy, authority, and sufficiency provides a foundation for both the truth of the gospel and our confidence in evangelism. Christians believe this not because of a modern, man-made ideal of "inerrancy," but because Jesus himself thought and taught t...
The Role of Desperate Prayer in Relenting Wrath | David Platt T4G 2014 Sermon
Просмотров 78 тыс.10 лет назад
The most powerful message on prayer I've ever heard. David Platt tackles God's relenting of wrath based on the intercession of Moses in Exodus 32. The Sovereign God allows us to intercede and plead for His power, why is there such a lack of prayer in our lives? Get the audio: bit.ly/1lUWx01 More T4G resources: t4g.org More about David Platt: www.radical.net/about/david_platt.html

    History, the Presidential Race, Economic-Inequality, & Social Justice 1. History Provides Many Lessons; 2. David Platt's actions appear to be motivated to help get Biden in office; 3. Only Simpletons like Sociologist Michael Emerson & Platt argue on grounds of Economic Inequality; and 4. David Platt's understanding of Social Justice is taken from Bernie Sanders & Robin Hood which is not biblical And, as added Ace in the hole, the Black Lives Matter Movement for Social Justice just might convince enough citizens to change their vote to Biden with his Progressive handlers. The script they are pushing very hard is that of Economic In-Equality due to Systemic Racism. There are many actors who are promoting this script. From the Bible base of the Southern Baptist Church as well as Mclean Bible, and 50% of all Evangelicals who are being duped by Michael Emerson, Black Lives Matter and our very own David Platt. Yes, unfortunately David Platt is using his position to influence the election. On these grounds alone, the elders should demand Platt's immediate resignation letter or terminate him immediately, and for supporting the evil organization of Black Lives Matter. What I find pathetic, besides trying to influence an election with 15 million Southern Baptists, Platt has shown his utter naivete by embracing the racist theory by the Southern Baptists denomination as made by Michael Emerson's book, "Divided by Faith". And then Platt wants to make the ridiculous argument: 1. All the Southern Baptists are racists and should repent; therefore 2. All Evangelical Christians are racists and should repent; and 2. Therefore, all the US society has numerous systemic racist institutions. For most of his life David Platt was indoctrinated as a Social Gospel proponent by his Southern Baptist up-bringing, but since 2017 he is on a personal mission to change all of society of real or perceived evils as a Social Justice Warrior after reading the book, 'Equality Divided by Faith' by Michael Emerson, which he read about 2 years ago. So, Platt and the SBC now support the BLM and he is doing all he can to have the MBC church members & all the Southern Baptists drink the poisonous cool-aid of Systemic Racism which will enable Biden to be elected. Here is the poisonous well David Platt has drunk and offers everyone to partake. Read this book to see how David Platt was deceived by non sense. www.amazon.com/Divided-Faith-Evangelical-Religion-Problem/dp/0195147073/?tag=thegospcoal-20 The authors of, 'Divided by Faith' found, (that despite recent efforts by the SBC evangelical leaders to address the problem of racial discrimination, the SBC evangelical members themselves seem to be preserving America's racial chasm. ) [opinion] In fact, most white evangelicals see no systematic discrimination against blacks. But the authors contend that it is not active racism that prevents evangelicals from recognizing ongoing problems in American society. Instead, it is the evangelical movement's emphasis on individualism, free will, and personal relationships that ... perpetuates racial inequality. ] As noted by the authors!!!! [opinion that the foundation of Evangelicalism beliefs creates racism. Very foolish] These guys want to state, "evangelicals seem to be preserving a racial chasm". Really? But, they simply point to dumb numbers of whites living in better neighborhoods and that whites go to jail for drugs in far lesser numbers than blacks do for the same crimes. Okay. So, where in this ignorant reasoning is there a shred of any evidence of racism or of systemic racism. There is none! All Emerson does in his book and video is give some disparity numbers. And so, because there are more blacks arrested for drugs, the nation must be racist. And because affluent neighborhoods are mainly white, the nation must be racist. Non sense! This is just an arugument for income equality no matter ones choices, no matter ones life of crime, and no matter ones education or effort to succeed. Its an argument for Communistic Marxism. And Platt buys into this foolishness. I find it amusing and sad how a PHD educated pastor can be such a simpleton and also choose foolishly to be a Social Justice Warrior. (On both counts his mission is not biblical, nor in line with the gospel. Conclusion David Platt wants to be Robin Hood along with the Progressives and provide material equality in his fight for equality. To this end he is willing to accuse all Christians of Racism and accuse America of systemic racism to accomplish his mission of promoting the Social Liberation Theology Gospel of materialism. Platt's Social Gospel must go and so should Platt.

    What is the point of prayer? If god is fair, praying for others does not save them (they have to seek god on their own).

      ***** Oh well aren't you SPECIAL, lecturing me on how if I were a better person I would KNOW god like you do. That tripe doesn't work anymore, shithead. People aren't willing to believe any old magical claims (god) or other bullshit just because you say they'll understand if they stop thinking critically. And fyi, I was a very devout and serious christian for years, until I realized that a real god of perfection would not demand that I forfeit my critical thinking and demand that I go ion pretending to know things I don't (as you clearly do). I know you are peddling a slimy lie. And I note you close with an argument from fear. PATHETIC.

      We are to pray for others as Abram prayed and interceded for his nephew Lot who had gotten caught up in Sodom (or Gomorrah) which was about to be destroyed.. We are to pray as Moses interceded for the Israelites after they had made a golden calf and done some very ungodly things and were about to be destroyed. We are are a "royal priesthood"..as priests, we are to pray and make intercession for one another..we are to go to God for out brothers and sisters in Christ, and as well as for those who can't get to Him themselves. That's what love does.

      David Fulford "The Role of Desperate Prayer in Relenting Wrath" The title of this sermon pretty much says it all. I think that one's theology is a reflection of one's own psychology and Platt's psychology is disturbing to say the least. The problem with religion is man speaking on behalf of God. All I hear is man. I do not hear God. I hear lots of people talking about God...talking about their feelings about God...saying that this is what God says and this is what God wants.

      Perhaps God can be known in the person of Jesus Christ, but with that being said this sermon is still very masochistic. I think Christianity debases man to exalt God. What do you think?

    • @jcpartri
      @jcpartri 10 лет назад

      LoverOfTruth2010 Naturally, being a christian, my response comes from the Bible. Since Jesus is how we can know God it is better to send you what he says. [On the issue of debasing man: Luke 14, Psalm 46:10 (Old Testament, prior to Christ's birth, we have God's revelation of Himself to his prophets through His Holy Spirit] The debasement of man is not a "slavery" but actually a freedom [1 Peter 5:6-7 the apostle Peter speaks what He has learned from Christ in this text] God reciprocates exaltation to us, when we humble ourselves under His hand. - many blessings.

      LoverOfTruth2010 This isn't Christianity, this is Old Testament preaching. Christ came to bring GRACE & TRUTH, not law. Check out Joseph Prince instead...

    • @jcpartri
      @jcpartri 10 лет назад

      We know that Jesus didd not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it. (Matt 5:17). Now it is true that we cannot obey the law to be saved. (Romans 7) Christ fulfilled that which we were powerless to do (Romans 10:4) The law of the Spirit has set us free from the consequences of disobedience to the written law (Romans 8:2) Now that we have obeyed through believing in Him we have the Spirit of God (Acts 5:32) This salvation and this faith does not come from us but is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8-10). If we for one moment believe that by doing, we have earned favor with God, and thus salvation, then we have fallen into pharisee-ism.

    "The wish to talk to God is absurd. We cannot talk to one we cannot comprehend - and we cannot comprehend God; we can only believe in Him." Immanuel Kant.

      The fact that you say this shows that you have never tried. study his word and try to comprehend him, then state your case. God will reveal everything you desire if you seek to 'know' Him. The devil knows of him, that's easy.

      We can comprehend Him..not totally or He wouldn't be God..but He teaches us His ways, and we can know Him personally. That's why He became one of us (Yeshua..Jesus)..when we couldn't get to Him, He came to us. Jesus bridged the gap between us and God. Want to get to God? Go through His Son whom He sent. He revealed Himself through His Son. A young child may not comprehend everything its parents think, say, or know..or why they do what they do..or how everything works.. But that child can still communicate with its parents.
