For folks looking this up now that we’ve got a Switch port, killing an enemy with a Djinn it’s elementally weak to gives more xp (and gold and item drop chance). For this line of enemies, that’s Mercury Djinn. You’ll know it works when you see a mix of colours in the death animation.

i remember 1 time years ago i spend a lot of time farming these birds, at the end of the battle was nearly level 60 and dont remember how i started but they never scape past battle was kill one and the other scapes they come for revege

Tambien si matas a las wonder birds o pajaro mágico, con un djinn de ataque mercurio, dan 11 mil de experiencia en vez de los 8 mil que da normalmente
