Hi. I bought mine not in really good shape and I had to change some voices, and it’s not cheap at all, especially the labor. Maybe my biggest advice is to not buy one who need repair, because when you start to repair this old synth you really don’t know where you go and you discover surprises if you’re not lucky. The best way to do it, is to buy one who came out of maintenance, with the bill and be sure everything is working well. Then, when you own one of this thing you have to know that one day you will maybe have some trouble. So my second advice will be to add in your entourage someone skilled to maintenance one. My synth repairer told me that you can always repair this old synth because the technology is way more simple than nowadays, but the more time passes the more chance they have of breaking down, like us! I’m glade to share with you my experience and if you have any question don’t be shine.

@@giorgivision Thank you so much for your reply. It is really helpful. That's good advice and I thank you for that. I have my eye on one that's recently been serviced so I shall ask the seller if he has the bill for this. It's good to know that they can be repaired unlike many of the digital synths that were around in the 1980's. I have read various reviews which say this is a reliable synth. I have for some while, really wanted an analog synth especially one of the Juno's or Jupiters from the early 80s. I do not feel you can faithfully replicate these synths for the purist's ears and they look so fabulous too.

@@moodyblue1964 If you want my humble opinion, the Jupiter 6 is one of my favorite synth because he can sound very contemporary but with this living character and presence of old gear. You are not stuck in that vintage sound like some of other synth I have. You can easily create sounds for nowadays electronic music. It’s my taste of course. Best.

As far as reliability goes, this is one of the most reliable VCO polysynths of the 80ies. I have mine since 8 years and I had to do just a couple of repairs. Apart these, it was always rock-solid, and still is.

@@mima85 Excellent and great to hear. I have actually found one and have paid a deposit. This damn virus has prevented me from being able to pick it up which is not great. I was very much into the synth revolution back in the day but decided to further my guitar skills instead. Lockdown has got me back into the keyboards hence the wish to finally buy a genuine Synthesizer.

Hi Marc, it's not an Europa one and i don't think i even save this patches. I just made it for the video to show what i like to do with the JP6. I'm sorry! Next time i'll save the patches and share it with everybody. It's an excellent idea.

You know you can share patches via .wav files right ? Like, that's a feature of the Jupiter-6, being able to save and load patches via jack connector

And combined with the six voices ability, you enter in a all new dimention of fartscaping.
