Thank you so much, man, i have tinnitus like 3 years already, i'm multi instrumentalist and composer, its began when i was 27 (now im 30) and i was god why, im so young for this s6it, but there's nothing to do, this video really encouraged me( i immediately found the app and seems like it helps) also i was told by the doctors that hearing aids could help with that, but at the same time as long as i research, there's so many people dealing with tinnitus without hearing aids(for instance - Sting that having that problem, for my joy, i not joying that someone suffering, i joying that i'm not alone here) Thanks again! Im gonna check your music

Very good advice here. I’ve had tinnitus since September 2020 and went through a very dark 6 months. Although I still hear it all the time I no longer have an emotional reaction to it. Habituation does happen but you have to work at it a bit.

Thank you for this video! I am a singer from Romania with Tinitus and cookie bite hearing loss (the middle range is very damaged) and I have been living with this for 4 years now. I use earplugs and in-ear monitoring during events, trying to protect my hearing as much as I can in order to not damage even more, but daaaamnnn, sometimes is so hard and stressful. A positive mindset will definitely help us. I have a routine in the evening, I read a lot and play instrumental music in the background plus melatonine to help me prepare for a good night sleep. And yes, you are right, as long as we shift the attention from T, we can go on living a decent life. Thank u again for filming this. Hugs from Bucharest, Romania, Europe.

Hello. Singer here. You mean your tinnitus got worse in intensity? I wonder what if the pitch changes and general the type of sounds that we hear? it means the tinnitus is getting worse? or its a normal process?

Hi Jack, what about if playing the guitar even at a low volume level is triggering the tinnitus so badly that the tinnitussound gets 3 times as bad ( volume ) for weeks? I mean, I do have tinnitus for 12 years now and hyperacusis, don't know what to do anymore other than quit playing, even at home either electric or acoustic. Oh man, it's so bad to realize having to quit my passion which is playing guitars, allready all my life, except the last 12 years. If I don't play for months the tinnitus is calming down, but than again one attempt to play the electric guitar even at a very low level ( at home like an acoustic level ) is triggering the tinnitus so badly. It's like certain frequencies are ruined in my middle ear and they never get back anymore. So whenever I quit, even for months the sensitivity stays the same and immediatly the tinnitus is getting worse after short guitar playing. I even tried wearing earplugs, but nothing helps. So what else can I do , other than quitting my passion? I mean, 10 minutes of guitar playing is not worth getting sleapless nights and screeming tinnitusbeep all day long . It's just killing.

Hey Jack! Thank you for your words, it indeed helped me having a brighter outlook on my tinnitus (I’m 4 months in). I have a question, I also have problems with hyperacusis (high sensitivity to sounds and certain frequencies). What’s really getting me down is that music sounds very different from what it has always sounded. Did you have any similar problems with this? And if yes, do you have any advices?

Hi Jack I’m just an amateur guitarist . I just play for fun in my room. It’s just a hobby . I contracted tinnitus after a bad case of flu and vertigo . I’ll never play in a band as it’s just a hobby . The pitch keeps interrupting with the pitch of my guitar . Any advice . Should I keep playing and keep at it or take a break all together ? Im also going for yoga to calm myself down . Thank you so for this video.

People close to me know this is something I've dealt with in my life, and most people it seems have had a brush with something resembling tinnitus, but recently I had a friend come to me for some advice and I could tell right away that he was really in the thick of it. The absolutely very first thing that I thought of was to send him here! Heh, I know it's maybe a little niche but this is one of the best vids on the internet. Thanks Jack you helped get me out of a tough spot once and so I'm glad to pass it along! And to whoever needs to hear it: You're going to get on with your life... while the tinnitus will last its ability to get a hold of your attention definitely will not and it's going to be you one day giving out the advice on how to deal with it! I promise!
