It's been clear for weeks now. Haven't had any storms to stir up the water.

Thanks 👍 I'm retired so I've got nothing better to do. 🤷‍♂️ I am out for every storm that comes through the Panama City area, except tornado warned storms. As a former meteorologist, I've seen my share of videos gone wrong with folks trying to get that "Glory shot".

Smart phone must be handy, I've seen lots of folks posting very nice photos and video they've captured with them. But I'm still using an old flip phone, very old school. I can get by with my ancient Kodak for still photos and the Hero9 Black for video.

Smart phones are a must for chasing storms. I have RadarOmega to track the storm, and photo and video capabilities. And if you're going Live, it's a must have. The Live feeds I did last year were the most viewed videos I had.

@@ChasingBolts Impressive clarity! What FPS settings? Does it also require that you run it through edit software to slow it down?

@@hunt1803 30FPS. I used Quik (default GoPro editor) for creating slow motion in post-processing, then used Adobe Lightroom to color correct.

@@ChasingBolts thanks for the info. I've tried using Quik, half the time it doesn't load. I got it when I got my Hero9 Black, and its been quirky ever since. But then, I am using an older W10 laptop - don't really have the ability to upgrade right now so stuck with using an old version of Windows MovieMaker to process footage.

Another dud here. It was throwing out serious bolts 30 miles out in the Gulf. Got within 10 miles and I think I caught the only 2 bolts it had left.

Probably not. That area is swamps and sawgrass, not to mention at close to sea-level. If the surge is what they're expecting, I'd be in the water. There's nothing out there, and nowhere to go to avoid the elements.

@1dot9isduck Me too! I've been working with RUclips now for a week on doing 'RUclips Live', and I don't know what the hold up is. I've met all the requirements for a 'Live' feed, and they agree I have met all the requirements for a 'Live' feed. I don't know what the hold up is. Everything is good to go on my end.💁‍♂️

Yea...a typical Bay County storm. The sea breeze really disrupts the storms here. They get 20-30 miles away, then the sea breeze kills them.

@@ChasingBolts it's so annoying, I drove 2 hours to catch up to a front coming off the coast and as soon as I get there it's gone

@@1dot9isduck Yup...been there. I told my wife I'm going to drive to San Diego to catch the tropical storm. She said no. I'm getting desperate.

Nope...not even a water spout, which is odd for this area.

When I was the weather observer at the Purdue University Airport several years back, I was in the Air Traffic Control tower when a tornado came through.

Sorry for the late reply...I'm not the best at checking my social media accounts. I'm getting better though. Capturing lightning, once you have found the sweet spot on your camera, isn't that difficult. It's framing the shot that's the constant battle. Since nobody knows where the next bolt will come from, it's a complete SWAG.
